I spent my whole life thinking that magic had passed me by. Boy, was I wrong.

Becoming an uber-powerful witch overnight isn't nearly as much fun as it sounds. Controlling unfamiliar magic is hard. Really, really hard.

Adding to the level of difficulty is the fact that dead bodies keep showing up. Okay, so there's only been two so far, but in a small town like Wind's

This entry really pushed this series onto my must read list, from a cozy kind of start this has really ramped up! far from being the non witch everyone thought, instead Amie is a Light Witch and as such if the council find out they will either keep her in a box and user her power for themselves, a kind of duracell witch if you will, or the other option is... well let's just hope the council never find out!
Lessons are ramping up for Amie, her mum is teaching her to meditate, and her Aunt Opal

Magic Under Wraps

I am so enjoying this paranormal cozy mystery series. It is definitely one that should be read in order. Amie is a very powerful witch even if she doesn't have control of her powers yet. The power is dependent on the type of witch she is. In fact, her kind of witch is so powerful that if the council found out, they would force her to live in a box, so to speak, that would drain her powers, which they could then use for their own benefit. The choice is either to live in this box

is having a hard time with some of it. She is called by her friend that she needs her help. When she shows, two of her friends are standing over a dead body. The sheriff asks her
to help talk to her friend. See if she can get more information.

For fans of All Too Familiar and Relatively Familiar, this is the third book in the Accidental Familiar series. The main character is Amie and she is a witch trying to control her powers and keep things under wraps so the council doesn’t find out. When a murder happens and two of her friends are found standing over the dead body, Amie finds herself trying to solve the case.

This is the essential paranormal cozy mystery with the perfect mix of a reluctant heroine, magic/paranormal elements, quirky

Destiny takes charge

Awesome. Loved it even though the ending wasn't what I wanted. The kitten, Destiny, is great. Feisty, independent, knows her own mind and isn't afraid to show it. The rest of the characters are growing into their roles and powers lending what might otherwise have been a good story on a mediocre scale into a great read. The plot is murder and arson. Murder of two abusive drunks that give the females in their lives bruises and fear. Is the culprit one of the abused females? Why

The little town of Wind's Crossing has been having its fair share of murders lately. Amie, born into a family of powerful witches, felt like the magic had passed her by, and when she is suddenly engulfed with her powers she doesn't know how to handle it. On top of solving the murders, she is taking lessons to learn about her magic, while keeping it hidden from certain people. The reasons I like this series-witches, romance, funny, great plot, and murders to solve. Waiting on Book 4. Word of ...more

Amie turns out to be a Light Witch which is someone who is very, very powerful. This causes the Council to want that person under their control or dead. Whichever they deem necessary.

Tommy has a crush on her but his mother hates the witches she's a member of.

Doesn't make for peaceful living.

Mabel, the librarian, has a physical abuser as a husband. An abuser who turns up dead.

A talk with the Goddess tells Amie that something really bad is going to happen.

The cat can read her mind.

An enjoyable series!

I started out with a free book & then purchased the next 2 books. I read all 3 in 1.5 days...had to get some sleep ya know! These are fun witchy cozy mysteries with cats, gotta love that. The characters are quirky, funny, scary, and awesome; the plots are a little twisted here & there; the red herrings are good. October is the perfect time for a new witchy cozy mystery set of books. Recommended for those who enjoy cozy mystery books and I highly recommend that you

A slightly different take to the witch genre, this book revolves around the good witches that even council's are scared off.

Though this book creates a good solid background about the upcoming series, I did not find this book a very extremely intriguing one. There were hints to who the murderer were spread across the book, there was not much happening really. What I really liked about the book was that this book creates a very solid character introduction, a sense of the town and an overall feel

Amie has another case and this one will test her greatly

Amie is getting her power under control with the help of her family. While having a meditation session she is visited by the Goddess and is warned of a growing danger they will face. Amie's friend calls her in a panic because her husband is dead and she thinks she did it. When she arrives she finds her other friend Tommie there and now he says he killed him. Amie must figure out who really killed him before her friends and up in jail for

Annie is a super powerful witch, which is not a good thing unless you are able to control your powers. But Annie is only learning how to do so. It therefore makes sense for her to keep a low profile and fly under the radar, which is not really so easy when dead bodies keep popping up on your watch. And when the police decide that your friends are the suspects in the murders.

Another good read from Belinda White. Fast paced, riveting and with a nicely unexpected ending. Looking out for the next

An abusive husband murdered and the list of subjects is long! Plus, Amie has had a visit from the Goddess and things are going to get crazy, very fast. She really needs to get it together and learn things fast. Her new familiar, Destiny, should be able to help. Then just to add more to the mix, she bought a really stinky car. Like, really bad, getting worse, stinky. This series is so much fun!

Having getting used to the fact of not having powers and then receiving those powers, it's hard to learn how to use them. To find a killer Aimie has to try and not use her powers but it is hard. Awesome series can't wait to read the next one.

Very fine and fresh work

This is the third book in the series and I'm eager for the next installment. The writing is good, editing is good and the premise is fresh. Amir is a loveable character and her family and friends are fleshed out nicely. These are fast but satisfying reads and there is new enough take on a witch mystery to make it fun.

Fun read

This third book in the Accidental Familiar moves Amie's journey with her new familiar kitten, Destiny, along as they both learn more about Amie's new witchcraft abilities. I actually think Destiny is ahead of the game.

This is an easy read with sly humor and entertaining characters. I fully recommend it.

Better and better

Love the characters and the storyline. Each book goes deeper, I love the hooking up of all the main characters. Plus, in all the witchy mysteries I have ever read, I never once was introduced to the Goddess. Very cool, I like it when an author shows original thinking. Looking forward to the next book. Read and enjoy!

Up to the standard of the first two books. As is Belinda White's habit with this series, the murder is neatly solved, but then another problem looms at the end for a read-on cliffhanger. So presumably a sequel is coming sometime - and I'll read it.
