Vampire School

Rate this book
I wonder if this small Floridian beach town would be nearly as popular if they knew the truth about who attends this school, or rather what attends.

Elite Academy.
It sounds rather pretentious, doesn’t it? I suppose the school is what the name implies—only the elite are allowed.
I live in a world where it matters if you were born vampire or bitten vampire. The bitten are treated as outcasts, while the born rule.
Being fifteenth in line for the throne means I don’t have a choice. I am forced to go to school here and study what my uncle, the king, sees fit.
Too bad I have a crush on two of my teachers.
Nobody said university was going to be easy—I just didn’t think it would be deadly.

Vampire School is the first book in the Elite Academy Series.  It is a Reverse Harem (RH), why choose, fast paced, action packed, young adult/ new adult (YA/ NA) paranormal romance.
This series follows Everleigh, an eighteen-year-old from a royal line of vampires, through her freshman year of university at Vampire School. Her story takes place in a world filled with shifters and many other supernatural creatures.

*Warning! This text may contain spoilers!*
This is, by far one of the best vampire romances since i read "Bite me". The way the writer pulls you into the novel is amazing. I knew i would like this book before i even read it. The male leads are also sexy as HELL! My favorites is by far the two teachers. But i also love the main character. Shes so independent and righteous. But so kind and caring, at the same time. I definitely recommend this book! I finished it in one siting. However i was a bit disappointed because the scenes left you begging for more. I also love the fact she has 4 mates!
Over all i think this was a great book!!

Everleigh starts college at Elite Academy with her triplets, Kolton and Brody, who are determined to do their brotherly duty in regards to her. Already heartbroken by being ignored by her father's friend, Asa for 5 years, she meets her mate, Jude. Her brothers respond poorly. When she meets her teacher, Henry, she starts realizing that she has more than one mate. With Henry's help, Everleigh navigates her relationships with Asa and Rowan, just in time to find out she is prophesied to heal the bad blood between born and bitten vampires.

Nope.

Okay, if I hadn't seen all the other works of the author at the end of the book, I would have assumed someone very inexperienced with a smidge of talent wrote this. I haven't read anything by the author... and now I know to steer clear of it. The style and skill is poor. My daughter once wrote a short story in 7th grade, it wasn't all that good, but it was certainly better than this drivel.

To sum it up, the journal style time stamps on the chapters wasn't needed, I think they were placed to plus up the word count. It was highly redundant in the FMC thoughts, who was a total Mary Sue and comes across as an aloof cry baby who expects everyone to fix her every issue. Natural selection should have wiped her out long before, but she had her brothers to keep her alive I suppose. Everything about the story is shallow. There is no depth, the characters are all the same personalities and it is so dry. My goodness it's a hard read because of the dry tone. How about the 0 to 60 in why the heck not span of three seconds? The dramatics are boom! In your face and then resolved in two microseconds. There is no story telling or world building, the story is told to the reader as if the FMC was ten years old instead of eighteen. Her thoughts and mentality are so meaningless and she's so weak willed.

I just didn't like it at all.

Fans of Scarlett will not be disappointed with Vampire School. We are used to a slow burn here with Scarlett's books, here things are more fast paced. The writing was great, the story has a fast pace, and the characters are interesting.

Vampire School is about Everleigh, who is the youngest of triplets. Her two older, by minutes, brothers are protective and are determined to look after her at Vampire School. But there are somethings they cant protect her from. Like maybe finding her mate. And maybe that she has more than one. Not to mention someone is out to hurt her. The clock is ticking to find out who could be hurting Everleigh, because the next time she might not be so lucky.

Vampire School is the first book in the Elite Academy. A school for the supernaturals, Everleigh is a young excited vampire going to Vampire School. She is looking forward to this next stage and you can feel her excitement for this new journey. Meeting her mates one by one, working around her overprotective brothers, and trying to understand vampire politics on bitten vs born vampires, Everleigh has a lot to handle. She does a great job of understanding what is needed of her about her mates.

Lots of things happen at a faster pace in this series, and I think Scarlett did an excellent job of creating yet another unique story. I can't wait to see what happens to Everleigh and her guys next.

Mild Spoilers: Very insta-love. Little relationship/character development between the main character and her significant others. And because of that, the book was very one dimensional. In addition (just to reiterate the insta-love), events in the book took place within a 10 day period which (in my opinion) is not enough time to meet someone, build a relationship, say I love you, and essentially mate with them (i.e. marriage). That's ridiculous.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot stop laughing. When I started reading the book I kept thinking Everleigh must be someone BIG for the vampires. And it's not the fact that she's royal or 15th in line. The whole getting shot was a major clue as well. I honestly was not surprised that she had more than one mate. I had this thought come to mind when she said she felt like something was missing and that it was not the right time to complete the mating with the guys. That's when I came to think what if she has another? Then that party she went to? Well right before she went in I said it has to be her fourth is a bitten vampire and she might be the catalyst that unites both born and bitten vampires. Which then the thought became cemented after her first science of the born and bitten vampire class. That's when I thought what if there is a prophecy of a female vampire with four mates who unites them all? Now if she turns out to become the future ruler I would not be surprised. I cannot stop laughing because I called it!

This was junk for my brain, but so good. Occasionally I enjoy picking up some vampire romance style books and this one didn’t disappoint. However, I was disappointed it was Over so quickly.

I instantly fell in love with the characters and found the idea of the elite and born versus bitten vampires to be interesting.

I can’t wait for book two to be released at the end of the month. With these shorter books I almost wish I wait until all are released to read, because those cliffhangers get you and make you wish for more! And I will read more for sure!

You are amazing

I love this story line but the book feels more like a cliff notes version. Descriptions and details I long to read to visualize the book are lacking. That being said, I cant wait to find out what's next for the group

well written characters and storyline. it had its slow moments and a few where you wanted to slap the main character for letting everyone walk all over her.

Honestly one of my lowest reviews I’ve given a book, just seemed a bit poorly written. If it would’ve been longer, I would not have finished it.

It's okay

World building- 3/5 stars
Character building- 3/5 stars
Relationship building- 2/5 stars
Plot building- 2/5 stars

The writing style is good but the lack of building in all aspects is the problem. I won't read the next book or this author again.

Eh, not really feeling Asa

So, paranormal romances have this huge character flaw that literally guts me every time. The main love interest hurts/ignores/bullies/controls/lies to/leaves behind the main character because they are scared/emotionally immature/ disrespectful/think they know best but are really just a selfish jerk. Main character is angry about it/talks internally how it hurt/say they will confront the love interest/get revenge/ not be left behind again/fight her own battles. And I’m like yes!! Get it girl! Tell that boy that lying to you means they don’t see you as an equal and they should seriously reflect and change or be kicked to the curb! Then she forgives him without any fight usually without even talking about the issue, no apology, and no change in behavior and sex ensues. End of story, everyone is happy because the girl is a push over!

I’m pretty sick of it. In this story Asa is pretty terrible for 4 years. Barely apologizes. Says he will change. Doesn’t. And then promises there is a reason why he is being a jerk, but there really isn’t? End story with our main character desperately in love with him regardless of his treatment of her. Magic! And absolutely disheartening. Can we stop writing stories on how we only get happily ever afters if we capitulate to the men around us? He was in the wrong and is totally let off the hook. Happens every time, no consequences. Ever. I now don’t like him. So, it’s going to be hard to read this story any further.

STORY:
-----------
Everleigh is an 18-year-old vampire 15th in line of the royal throne. She starts her freshman university year at Vampire School with her both brothers (they are triplets)

MY OPINION
---------------
Read to reach my urban fantasy book goal because of the few pages and the vampire topic.
It was a nice read although Everleigh falls in love and then again... and again and again... no not finished, because she has mates which is very unusal for vampires.

It was an okay, nice fast read, but this falling in love with more than one guy thing, isn't really my thing. Also Everleigh seems a bit helpless in sight of the attacks besides her clumsyness. Maybe i'll read the second book if I need another book when it`s out in september otherwize not ;)

2.5 stars - but compared to other books I rate it down to 2 stars

New school, new mate, make that 4 mates!! (Some mini spoilers)

Everleigh and her two brother are finally starting Elite Academy for born vampires. They are in line for the throne of the royal vampire family so they get a little special treatment like bigger rooms, plus they are the only know set of triplet vampires ever born. So they are kind of a big deal. First day there Everleigh meets a boy who turns out to be her mate. The next day she meets a teacher, who turns out to be her mate too. Then it turns out her father's best friend who she has crushed on for like ever is also her teacher and her mate. Oh and there is another one? It's basically unheard of to have two mates in the vampire community let alone four! But her parents might have the key to why she has four mates. Such a good book! I can't wait to see where this goes!

Good story

The story is good. I probably will continue with the series. However, when reading I felt like so many things were repeated over and over. Found myself skipping a lot of stuff because of this. Also didn’t like some inconsistencies with the character personalities and how everything happened so quickly. There was no build up to the exciting parts. Everything just happened.

I love this world that has been created by this wonderful author. I love this spin on vampires. I read about some of these characters in the prequel, but I love seeing them have there own book. I can't wait to see what develops in this book and how it effects all the other books based in this world.

Hot vampires,drama, steam

Super interesting, I really like how this story line hasn't been told before. Born/made vamps. It's also nice that all the guys aren't immediately accepting of Everleigh. Just the right amount of steamy scenes. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
