The book I'm reviewing today is I've Got A Secret written by Lara Bergen. It's a fiction story, but I don't know the name of the state that they took place at because the author didn't mention to, I just know it was in the school named George Washington Middle School. Lara's main theme in I've Got A Secret is to tell about how to change when someone was being a person who lied to her best friends all the time.
The book involves a friendship between the three young girls, who are 13 years old named Amanda, Allie, and Kate. Amanda and Allie became the best friend when they got to know each other at the summer camp. When they were back to their houses, they mailed to each other and told about their life. However, Amanda lied to Allie that she had a handsome boyfriend named John, but if for real his name was Jon, and Allie was happy to believe that. Another day, Allie mailed to Amanda and told her she would move to Amanda's town because of her father's job. Instead of cheering Amanda wasn't glad for these thing, because she scared that Allie would find out Amanda was a liar if she came here. However, when Allie came she continued lying to her about Kate, because Allie wanted to meet Kate and Amanda tried all the ways to lie her that Kate was busy. Amanda didn't want Allie to meet Kate because she thought if Allie got to know Kate, then her secret would reveal especially about her ring that Kate gave her, but she told Allie it was from Jon. However, the three people finally met each other when they were in the same school. At that time, Amanda didn't stop lying, and she lied to Kate that she wouldn't come to the dance, but she went with Allie to the back-school-dance. From one lie to another, Amanda felt tired from it and one day her two best friends knew her secrets. They decided to get mad at Amanda, and with these things she began to change. She promised to herself that she wouldn't lie to her best friends again, so Allie and Kate started talking to her. From that time, the three girls became close to each other and without lying.
The book was great. I like it because I learned the way to stop from lying and how hurt that the best friend is when you try to lie to them. Besides that, the book had a part that similar to my life when I hurt my best friend's feeling, so I could understand how Amanda felt when she tried to hurt her besfriends' feeling. My favorite scene in the book is when Amanda came to the classroom and saw her two best friends played the flute for her, because in that scene I could see their friendship still stayed in their mind although Amanda did a mistake. I also like the character Allie because she was a good, friendly, and generous person. For instance, Amanda lied many things to her from the time that she met Allie, but Allie still treated to her as a best friend, and also she didn't angry at Amanda at all.
I would recommend the book to the teenagers at my age, because I hope people at my age understand how the true friendship is, and they will not be able to make a mistake on that. However in the real life now, there are many people at my age that make something wrong to their friends and they don't realize it. Therefore, I want recommend the book for them to let them know how to change if they hurt someone's feeling and always keep the friendship in their life.
I think this is a good book that I had read. From the book, I learned many good things for my real life. I hope there will be many people at my age read this book, and they will learn something new from it after they read. If you liked the book All's Fair In Love, War, And High School, you might like this book I've Got A Secret because they both tell about the problems in friendship, and how to prove it to make the friendship became closer.

Kylie signed her and her best friend, Sophie, up to try out for the cheer leading team at their school. Kylie was hoping to make the team, but instead Sophie makes it and Kyliy is the school mascot, the mule. Everyone says it is because of her hilarious and outgoing personality. Now all of a sudden Sophie went from the quit shy girl, to the girl that is popular and everyone loves. Now Sophie starts acting more herself and is back to friends with Kylie.
The characters that definitely changed were Sophie and Kylie. Sophie used to be shy and, but once she got into cheer, she became popular. Kylie changes because she really wants to be on the cheer leading squad with Sophie, but then she doesn't. She becomes jealous of Sophie. And because she gets jealous, she and Sophie don't get along as well as they used to.
I thought this book was pretty good. Sophie let popularity get to her head, so it was kind of sad. And it was also pretty sad when Sophie and Kylie started to become less of friends. I also thought this was a well written book because it was pretty descriptive. It helped me better understand what i was reading.
