9/11/2024 - I got this book for my daughter a couple of years ago at the library’s book fair. The book was published the same year I was born, so I didn’t know if it’d be too unrelatable for her or maybe have some things in it that wouldn’t be PC these days. But, nope! Some of the cars may have been out of style, but this was a very sweet book and showed all of the major Sesame Street characters.

What Did You Bring?
Plot: Big Bird’s Granny is supposed to send him a special package. But the question is how will it arrive? Or will it arrive at all? As days pass and he looks at all the different delivery trucks and vehicles, he’s not so sure. That is until Granny show’s up to deliver his special gift in person. (It’s a worn shaped teddy bear if your wondering).

My Thoughts: Pretty nice! I wish someone would show up at my door with a special present for me. Sometimes the present isn’t the present at all. It’s the person bringing it.

Entertaining book of how Big Bird waits for his granny's gift while sitting on the stoop and sees all the different vehicles pass by. It's a great illustrative book to show the different vehicles and their functions.

We talked about what each method of transportation was and we constantly discussed how Big Bird felt. I liked this book because it makes the reader think throughout the book. The pictures helped the reader visualize the words and explore the community in the story.
