Does a girl like her stand a chance with the unattainable boy? The last thing Elana Mitchell wants is to be noticed by Rohan Mallick, the boy she's been crushing on since junior year. He's Mr. Unattainable—not just to her but to every other girl who dares to snag his elusive attention. Those who try always end up getting snubbed and humiliated. She's definitely not keen on joining that roster, especially after completely fumbling their first interaction. Talk about a bad first impression. But when Rohan asks for her help on a school project, El has no choice but to move from the sidelines and place herself in his line of sight. Suddenly, Mr. Unattainable doesn't seem so out of reach anymore...
Madeleine Labitan lives and breathes for three things: books, coffee and Netflix. Deny her of one and you'll make an enemy for life.
A former content writer and virtual assistant, she decided to leave the freelance world behind to spend the rest of her days falling for swoon-worthy book boyfriends and hating on their heroines while simultaneously pretending to be a dedicated author.
She's been writing most of her life, and after nearly a decade of procrastinating, finally decided to try her luck on being an author.
Truth or Dare is her first foray into the publishing world and hopefully not the last...
And, oh, she’s in social media. Not that active, but she tries:
Before I get started on this review, I want to say that. I did want a book with Sloan and Amanda. But learn from the author that they wouldn’t get a book. I wanted one because; I wanted to see if they were going to get together. I see in this book that Sloan and Amanda ended up in a relationship. I figured that and glad... because I saw how interested they were into each other at that party in the book with Nick and Lexi “Hard to Love.”
With that being said...... I liked how finally El for the guy that she had a thing for. She was such nervous around the guy. That I had to laugh when she spilled that drink on that poor boy (Rohan), at least he didn’t hate her for it; laugh it off as a joke when he saw her again (in school)...
His stepmom I wanted his dad to break up with her because she was just horrible... to El... didn’t want Rohan with El at all. Rohan didn’t want to be with his cheating ex Nisha. Who thought he was going to take her back. I was like really think he’s going to take her back after she cheated on him with one of his friends.
I was glad that he wanted something with El. Even though he’s stepmom with that horrible name.. he didn’t like Elana or want him to be with her. She wanted him back with his ex Nisha. I was glad he made the decision to be with El and told his stepmom how he felt and to butt out of his business. Not only that, I was glad to learn that his dad was on his side. & also Rohan decided to stay in the USA to be with Elena...
UGH! i hate men bc THEY ARE NOT LIKE THESE FKNG BOOKS!! I have time rn so here are a few comments: 1. from all the 5 books in the series this was teh weakest for some reason. Just didnt feel any chemistry between the two 2. Of all the female characters, this one was the one I related to most bc she's so dumb and and stupid when it comes to men and crushes. like the way shes soooo delusiional if literally EVERYTHING!!! 3. I didn't like the guy. Stop romanticizing British men!! (I would do the same if it were me, but still!!) 4. I love and have the fucking romances bc they give me hope, and life is hopeless (yes, im SAD today!) 5. i hate and love high school romances bc HIGH SCHOOL LOVE DOES NOT FUCKING LAST. MEN ARE NOT THIS MATURE AND CRAZY IN LOVE ABOUT YOU. THIS DOES NOT EXIST. THEY ARE ALL TRASH.
Anyways... it was kinda cute i guess... but the other 4 books were better.
This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments, and a lot of amazing moments that just brought a warm smile to my face; however, there were the times were it would lull and I would think about placing it down in favor of another, but in the end I'm glad I stuck it out and finished it.
This story was cute but i didn’t really care for it. The characters rushed and I didn’t really feel there was enough between them to make them like each other so much. Cute and quick read, but not really satisfying IMO.
In my opinion this was a great book to end the series on. It was fun, with just a few sad parts. I really enjoyed the last chapter when everyone was together at the beach.
I give “Just Friends” 3 ☆☆☆. It was a nice final couple for the series and ties up some loose ends as to whether the previous couples are still together and gives us some cute scenes with those couples. El and Rohan were the most realistic when it came to conflict, as post high school life is a real worry for new couples who hook up so near graduation like they did.
I think the author is a good writer. But here's her biggest issue. It's okay that it's very cliche. But the biggest problem with all her books is that it's cliche and so very bland. There's no angst, no drama, no twist, no whatever. She's just not getting it. Sorry.
