Good collection of sidebars (e.g., an Art Monk profile, a Michael Wilbon piece on the team's history of racism) and season summaries from back in the day. It was fun to relive the highlights (the Super Bowl wins obviously; the NFC champs 26-3 win over the Cowboys in 1972 -- I can picture the friend's house where I watched the game and remember some of the excited discussion with each 4th quarter field goal padding the lead; the arrival in 1969 of Vince Lombardi as coach) and lowlights (Richie Pe ...more
This was a very fun read. I learning a lot about the team that I did not know about. Especially the teams racist past, and its imprint on the city. It was also written by some amazing sports writers from the Washington Post. The best part is that it was written in 1997, so it avoided the worst part of Redskins history, the Daniel Snyder era.
