Selkie Moon travelled with Alister to Hong Kong to try to locate the son Alister had lost thirty years prior. When his wife Fleur was killed, her parents snatched Deshi; Alister had never stopped in his search for his son. But with Selkie’s help, he was hoping for a positive outcome.

But there were powerful forces at work in Hong Kong. The Chinese folklore; the mysticism that swirled around them; the danger was high. And while Selkie searched for answers, she also knew she had to protect A

Virginia King’s latest is a fascinating romp through Hong Kong. I loved learning about the culture and spiritual beliefs as Selkie and Alister search for his long-lost son. Great read with interesting characters.

The Fourth Door - Probably the best of the series and all have been interesting reads. This is one of those series that needs to be read from the first book; the foundation is built from the first book on and the multiple storylines do resurface. The author is a talented storyteller and each book is more substantial. TFD starts a year after The Third Note ends.

TFD is full of Chinese lore, which adds depth to the fabric of the new storylines. I got lost in the pages, mesmerized by the characters

This fourth book in the Selkie Moon series is excellent.

Selkie travels with Alistair to Hong Kong to continue the search for his son who disappeared as a baby, with the baby's grandparents, after his wife died. He has been searching for 30 years and finally has some hope. He has found a cousin to his son, Su Yin, who says she has information that the baby was taken to Hong Kong, but seems more interested in the rewared. Selkie finds some notes in the in flight magazine that seem to speak to her

I really enjoyed this book, the first few pages are fast-paced and hint towards a book that is filled with supernatural mystery. Selkie Moon, the main character cannot help but get herself into a weird and wonderful predicament. Her relationship with famous boyfriend 'Lister' Alister is progressing. He shares with her that he was previously married to Fleur and has a thirty-year-old son who was abducted. The story unfolds as the couple fly to Hong Kong in search of this child. I love the little ...more

I've read all the other books (most more than once) in this series so it's no surprise that I loved the Fourth Door. Like all the Selkie Moon books, it's a real page turner with so much non-stop action that the reader hardly has time to draw breath! It is also beautifully written. Because it is full of fascinating folklore and the descriptions of Hong Kong are so real, I became so involved that I forgot everything else. I was sorry to finish it. The only answer to that is to read it again! Highl ...more

The Fourth Door is the fourth book in the Secrets of Selkie Moon series by Virginia King.

Selkie joins Alister on his search for his son in Hong Kong.

It’s not easy finding someone who disappeared 30 years ago, especially when there are people who don’t want you to find him.

I couldn’t put this down. The descriptions of the the locations made me feel like I was in Hong Kong with Selkie.

I can’t wait to see where Selkie’s ends up next.

I received this book as a gift and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

You really need to have read the first three book in the series prior to this book in order to better understand Selkie.
It's interesting to see the feelings between Selkie and Alister developing in a true emotional connection between the two of them. Their strong bond helps them survive the trials they encounter while searching for Alister's 31 year old son. While reading the story you get a sense of Hong Kong. Urban myth plays a heavy roll. Combination of sorcery and gangsters gives you all ki

Selkie Moon travels to Hong Kong with Alister to try to find his son that was kidnapped when he was a baby. They get clues to help lead the way. Alister gets put under a spell where he can hardly function. Selkie has to find a way to rescue Alister and find his son, Deshi. This is the fourth novel in this series. Each one gets better.

This was a well written book with interesting characters and a somewhat twisted plot. I enjoyed unraveling the story threads and was pleased with the ending. If you are following the series you will find this to be a very interesting and exciting continuation of Selkie's story.

This book is full of Chinese mysticism that is so engrossing. As Selkie helps Alister with his search for his son, many things try to interfere. Such a good book.

When a voice wakes you up in the middle of the night and tells you to write a mystery series, what’s a writer to do? That’s how I came to create Selkie Moon, after a massage from a strange woman with gifted hands was followed by this nocturnal message. I sat down at the keyboard until Selkie Moon turned up -- a modern woman with a mythical name. Soon I was hooked, exploring far-flung places full o ...more
