Men are good for two things: orgasms and reaching the wine glasses on the top shelf.

I’ve always said boyfriends are like martinis; they’re lots of fun at first, but the longer you hang out the bigger headache they’ll give you. The last thing I need is the messy complications of love when I’ve got so many balls in the air and so many goals yet to accomplish. Jax Crosby

With Stewart’s signature lightness and humor, The Runaround is romantic comedy done right. There is some fantastic banter and great chemistry between our couple. And while neither Ari nor Jax has the type of personality I typically seek out in my romance novels, I still rooted for them to find happiness.

The story follows Jax, a carefree and charismatic guy who tends to steer clear of commitments. Last year he exchanged some heavy flirtation with Ari, a feisty and independent woman who has a

I’m annoyed and charmed in equal measure by the sweet talking Romeo. The fact that he’s doing his best to connect with his teenage daughter is a plus in my book but the way he’s totally oblivious about his feelings and effect on women is riling me up. He has more than a few flaws, making him all the more lovable.

Ariana is hard working, intelligent, creative, beautiful and caring. She’s not very good at choosing the right boyfriend but at one point she starts to question her decisions. Knowing

The Runaround was a great 5 star read and book six in The Carolina Connections series.

Ari is a very busy woman with a lot of goals. She isn’t looking for any type of relationship. One night while DJing for Karaoke night she sees Jax. She had helped him a while back with his website and he is very hot. She is surprised when he approaches her and asks her for a favor, he would like her to give singing lessons to someone.

Jax was surprised with the news that he is a father. He is trying to build a

The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (Carolina Connections Book 6) by Sylvie Stewart is a sweet romance story. Where the man has so many flaws but they make him that much more lovable. I was in fits of laughter as I read this but there were just as many heart felt moments. It is a well written and fun story that makes for a great read. Sylvie’s stories always make me smile so it’s a no brainer when her books come along. I loved the banter between the characters and the flirtation were so ...more

Ms Stewart never seems to fail with her sweet and fun stories. His charm and her sass was a perfect combo. How can one simply resist the southern charm man and a strong woman.
This is not your typical single dad story. There is pain and growth, luv and hurt. Lola is amazing on how strong she really is. What she went thru would have broken and adult little alone a teenager.
Jax is to cheeky for his own good but u can’t help but love him. Ari is fun and witty. Strong and independent but still

I just love this series! It is definitely a top 5 for me - I could read these books over and over...especially the audiobooks. The characters are gold; they make me laugh and I’m instantly in love with each one. This couple couldn’t be more entertaining. I love their back and forth; they fight the love they have for each other, but love always wins. I can’t wait for the next Carolina Connections book! I received this ARC for an honest review.

An incredible fun well written single dad romance story. This engaging storyline had some drama, funny banter, unexpected surprise teenage daughter, lots of depth, flirtation, and love that had me interested as every page turned. The characters are interesting and relatable with amazing chemistry. It was wonderful watching them grow and become better versions of themselves as they journey towards their HEA. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC. ...more

I just knew Jax and Ari were going to be explosive! This book was hot yet so sweet. There is nothing better then a man afraid of love and commitment being brought to his knees in love with an amazing woman. Really enjoyed this storyline.

5 out of 5 stars

The story The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (Carolina Connections Book 6) by Sylvie Stewart is a wonderful book to read. It is a story that had me laughing one moment and with misty eyes the next. I loved reading about the characters of Ari and Jax. Ari is a woman with a plan. I loved this book from page one. You always know within the first 2 chapters in your going to love or hate the book. I should’ve known before I started reading that I was going to love it. Sylvie Stewart has had me hooked from the first book I’ve read of hers. I can add this to my list of faves by her.

Jax finds out he has a daughter but she isn’t a young little girl. She’s a teenager! How do you expect a teenage girl to react finding out she has a dad whom she has never met before. Jax keeps

Ari is a talented woman who has a long term plan and is working multiple jobs to see those plans come to fruition. She's agreed to be a voice coach for Jax's daughter Lola. Try as she might to stay out of it, she can't help notice the tension between Lola and Jax, and she can't help but want to find out what happened to cause that rift, and how she can fix it.

Even though Jax is known for playing the field, he's become hooked on Ari from the start. Her voice, her smile, her body. Not to mention

Yay! Okay, I love romance novels. I read a lot of them, and I have to say, WAY too many of them have doormats for heroines, if you can even call that a heroine. This book is different. Again, yay!

Ari is smart, loyal, a bit pig-headed, has a huge heart, has a mouthy attitude, and is unashamed of any of it. She’s never been in love, and seems to avoid it by choosing temporary boyfriends who do not mix with her close circle of friends. That’s why Jax is off limits. He’s a

This is book six in the Carolina Connections series. It can be read as a standalone but there will be some spoilers from the first five books since they’re interconnected. I purchased the first five books after I finished this one, so I’ll be reading them soon. This book was laugh out loud funny and hot.

Jax finds out he’s a dad fourteen years after his ex gave birth their daughter. Now he’s trying to navigate building a relationship with his daughter. He had met Ari before he found out about

I have been waiting for this story!! It fits right in with Sylvie Stewart’s sweet, emotional, flirty, laugh out loud romantic comedies. The Runaround is part of her Carolina Connections series; but can be read as a stand-alone.

Ari was a go getter, making sure she had a back up for the back up. Her dream of owning her own business was within reach. Nothing could distract her from rising to the top. Not even a sexy man with an amazing daughter...right?

Jax was thrown for a loop; his ex never told

Sylvie Stewart has been on my author go-to list for quite a while now. I just love her writing style and almost irreverent sense of humor that she manages to incorporate into all of her books. I was not initially on board with the approach Ari took to her relationships, or rather non-relationships, but I was really glad to see her start to question herself and realize that there was more to life than just hooking up with someone for the moment. Jax was also a player who had reality smack him in ...more

The Runaraound by Sylvie Stewart is the 6th book in the Carolina Connections series. I am new to this author and I am IN LOVE! I love her style of writing. She has a way of making the characters really come to life with their emotions and quick wittiness. I was hooked on this story from the moment I started this book until the very last page. Ariana was an amazing character all together and I loved her throughout the whole book. She is very strong and quite humorous. I felt the strong connection ...more

Ari and Jax never seem to have good timing on their side. It has been months since Ari has seen it heard from Jaz when out if the blue he steps back into her life with a request for singing lessons. Ari is understandably confused but also needs the money so she accepts. Jax had his world turned upside down with the appearance of a daughter ge never knew he had and Lola is not making it easy on him. Soon these three are forming an inseparable bond but overthinking can sometimes be your worst ...more

A really emotional romance.

Ariana knew that Jax was trouble from the first time they met but she'd avoided him so far and thought she was safe. However, when Jax discovers he has a teenage daughter and she wants singing lessons, he knows just who to go see. The one woman he wanted but wouldn't go after because he needed to focus on his daughter, Lola. But the connection between these two just won't go away and it's slowly driving them insane. But can they be together with everything that is

Oh my gosh!

This author always brings her A-game when she writes a book. They are always a good fun time. This book is no exception. Jax with his southern charm was bound to be a delight. Ari is full of sass. She's feisty and independent with a marshmallow center. Topped off with the authors witty dialogue and spicy chemistry. Then there's Lola. She's been through a lot and she's a teenager. Lots of snark and eye rolls. Her and Jax learn and grow together. I'm not really a fan of single father

This was my first story by Sylvie Stewart, a recommendation that I am so thankful I got! Jax is the kind of guy you love to pretend you dislike but you can't help but fall for his charm. Even when you don't agree with his thoughts and actions, you empathize with him and you quickly fall in like with him. Ari is a chick that I would love to be like, confident in her skin. What she isn't confident in is emotions. She flirts and gets sassy at the drop of a hat but it is a mask to hide her soft ...more

A snarky funny romance following carefree Jax and sassy Ariana. As much as you would like to hate Jax and his casual ways, you will cheer his emotional growth. Ariana comes across as a maneater but truly she has a marshmallow center which makes her reluctant to develop emotional attachments with men. I loved the characters and their interactions. I especially loved the dynamics between Jax and his teenage daughter. This is a stand alone but there are MANY friends of Jax and Ariana (I had a ...more

Fun and sexy rom-com with fantastic characters.

Ari is a strong, fun, and sassy heroine (plus, her family is a hoot!), and I really liked smooth-talking Jax and their witty banter, to say nothing of their chemistry.
But I'll admit that there was a point in the story where both Ari and Jax were just so stubborn and... gah!... that I felt like thwacking them over their respective heads, Mamá-Amante-style.

I adore Lola - and I especially enjoyed to see how her relationship with Jax developed,

The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart a flirty four-star read. This is number six in the Carolina Connections series and they can be read as stand-alone but honestly they are so much fun I would advise to read them in order as they do build form each other and they show us the talent that Sylvie Stewart has as a writer. Lust turns to love

Jax has thought Ari was hot since first laying eyes on her. Ari is a woman of many talents and big dreams, he is set in his business and questions whether he’ll ever have a meaningful relationship. Throw in a daughter he knew nothing about throws him through a lot.
The fact Ari had a part in helping him become closer to his daughter made it even sweeter.
I loves this story, and how they came together and that it wasn’t easy.
As always this author kept me interested from beginning
