5 LION HEART STARS!! Kingston is beautiful inside and out, but broken from childhood. Poppy is so beautiful, but also broken badly inside. These two have one heck of a story to tell you. Their story has all the feels and will squeeze your heart. I absolutely loved this book. Carrie Aarons writing is phenomenal and always gives us readers the perfect story.

I don’t remember having 2 people break my heart as much as Kingston and Poppy did. They are just two broken people trying to make their way in the world. They are both products of circumstances beyond their control and have taught themselves how to shield their emotions. Both have found different ways to mask their pain and the turmoil they go through every day.

Kingston is the prankster, the one person everyone can count on for a laugh. He is reckless, a ladies’ man and never someone anyone take

Five hot stars for Poppy and Kingston 💕!

"The Second Coming" is the reason why I've started reading Carrie's books.

So, you can only imagine how I was happy when I found that "The Lion Heart" the second book from "Rogue Academy" series is coming soon!

Yes, I was dying for reading Poppy's and Kingston's book because from the first book I knew that their story will be one I won't forget soon 😍.

And Carrie didn't disappoint!

She proved one more time that she is the master for writing a good romanc

‘No one has ever been so raw with me. Poppy…I think maybe you see something in me that I never even knew was there. And…I think maybe I see the same thing inside you.’ – Kingston Phillips

Kingston Phillips is a gorgeous player with a weakness for women, booze, and brawls. He lives his life in fast forward with zero cares in the world. Soccer comes easy to him, being the child of two of the greatest players in the world, that shouldn’t surprise anyone, but he doesn’t take it or his life seriously.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS

I was so excited to read Kingston and Poppy's story! They may be famous but they are both a little lost and lonely. I've loved all the characters introduced in the Rogue Academy Series thus far. The chemistry between Kingston and Poppy is hot. This story is well written and I can't wait for more.

This book is an EPIC read that I highly recommend! The Lion Heart by Carrie Aarons will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

The Lion Heart is the second book in the Rogue Academy series by one of my favorite authors, Carrie Aarons. It can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading The Second Coming since it’s just as amazing. It was also where I was first introduced to the cheeky Kingston Phillips and the sassy Poppy Raymond.

It’s been one year since Poppy walked away Kingston in that London club. One year since she shut him down. And now he was watching her strut down the runway with confidence and grace.

Kingston Phillips has only ever been shot down by one woman, Poppy Raymond, and he's finally done what she said he had to do to get her attention. He's finally made it to the elites, as part of Rogue Football Club's team Kingston should be able to do anything, but just as Poppy shoots him down he shoots himself down too. Poppy makes Kingston question what it is about football, and being on top, that he loves so much and he's put to the test to prov

My #BookReview for #TheLionHeart by @Carrie Aarons

I wasn’t for sure what to expect coming into this book. I had read Aria and Jude’s story in which I loved, but I found it lacking something. But with The Lion Heart, that’s what it was. ALL HEART, and I loved it so much!!

I really enjoyed the storyline, and the writing for this story!!! I loved them both so much in their own ways.

I knew that Kingston was a loveable guy and big softie under that party boy attitude he had (following on from The Sec

Carrie Aarons is in special place in my heart with her books. All of them are so sensitive, delicate and beautiful. Also all of them have difficult subjects in their plot and this made them so perfect.
With 'The Lion Heart' the second book in 'The Rouge Academy' series it was the same thing. I love Poppy and Kingston story.

In this book we get the playboy Kingston Phillips’ story, we know he is cocky, has a carefree attitude, and not too much phases him except his family so he stays away from them as much as possible. Underneath his carefree attitude hides an insecure little boy that just wants his parent’s acceptance or attention so he acts out and that is exactly what he has been doing for so long he doesn’t realize he is throwing so much talent and his life away. So, when we meet Poppy, the super famous model, K ...more

The Lion Heart is the second book in the Rogue Academy series featuring Kingston and Poppy. Technically the books in this series can be read as standalones, but it is my opinion that your reading experience will be richer and fuller if you start with the first book and read them in order.

I absolutely loved everything about Kingston and Poppy. Their chemistry was fiery hot, sparking right off the page and practically crackling in the air around them. This couple was positively electric together,

The Lion Heart by Carrie Aarons is the second book in the Rogue Academy series! This story is about Poppy and Kingston who we meet in the previous book. When you start getting to know Kingston you think he is a self centre guy who doesnt care about anything, when in reality he is faking all of that because the true is that he is always feel bad about his relationship with his parents, so that he keep it like a dark secret. Pain and trauma can define you as a person, how you handle it and how you let it control you. I feel like when Carrie Aaron's writes a sports romance it takes us back to her writing roots. You can tell that she enjoys writing sports romances. The characters are always fun and entertaining. The Lion Heart was a story I fell into incredibly easy. Kingston is a character I wasn't sure I was going to like as first but I should have known Carrie gives all her men the sweetest and goofiest insides... you just have to get to the inside. ⚽⚽⚽Book Review ⚽⚽⚽

The Lion Heart (Rogue Academy #2) was part exactly what I expected and part nothing I expected. This story had every aspect I love in a romance...humor, passion, sex and love. Carrie delivered perfectly with witty dialogue, gorgeous footballers and an intelligent snarky heroine who called Kingston out at all opportunities. This is even a bit of a slow burn romance in my opinion.
But beneath the surface of an amazing romance were Poppy & Kingston’s stories of fear, loneline

“We’re the same. Both victims of what this privileged, horrible, tragic world has done to us. But we rise above it.”

I didn’t think I would cry during this book but alas, here we are. This book is about the other side. The side of us we try to hide from people and push down. Poppy and Kingston had been suppressing their other side for far too long, and they needed each other to help them understand it.

Kingston is THE Guy. You know the one, talks a lot, acts the fool, manwh@re, with terrible ideas. The guy who regularly does idiotic things... yeah, that guy.

He's the natural born player. He has football in his veins. And yet, he's the biggest joke in the country. Kingston's life is going down the drain.

I simultaneously want to hug and shake the ever loving shite out of Kingston. (P.S. I truly hope they do an audiobook of this because I would swoon and possibly need back up panties!) He stays t

Gah! I absolutely adored every single thing about Kingston and Poppy's story! Carrie Aarons took the enemies-to-lovers trope and laved it with snark and sass alongside the sweetness and sexual tension. I loved the British witticisms and the lighthearted humor, but this story also happened to have a healthy dose of angst to it, courtesy of both Poppy's and Kingston's pasts. It could be said that the whole back and forth between them during the first few cha

Lion Heart is book 2 in Carrie Aarons’ Rogue Academy series. Kingston is a mate of Jude’s from Second Coming, but this story is a true standalone.

Wow, Kingston ended up being nothing like he comes off as in the beginning of Lion Heart. This was an absolutely fantastic enemies-to-lovers story between the partying, womanizer football star and the rigid, uptight, aloof supermodel, Poppy. But underneath her icy exterior and his playboy facade are two incredibly damaged abuse survivors, and once they

Where do I even begin with The Lion Heart which is the second book in The Rogue Academy Series? Carrie Aarons delivers a sports romance that kick starts the heart. Two souls that have been broken, one has walls to protect her and the other throws himself to the wind with women, booze and a cocky attitude.

Kingston Phillips can't live up to the demands of his parents so he lives his life taking out that anger or disappointment out by living his life up by partying with one night stands, brawling,

Two things I and a man with an accent. And Carrie Aarons gave me both in The Lion Heart. While this is the first book I've read in the Rogue Academy, it read as a complete standalone.

I liked Poppy a whole heck of a lot. She was strong willed, hard working and kind. But not afraid to put her foot down. Case in point, her first handful of interactions with Kingston. I'm not gonna lie- it took me a hot minute to warm up to Kingston. He was a player in more than one way. But underneath

The Lion Heart is the second book in the Rogue Academy Series. I first book, The Second Coming featuring Jude and Aria was heavy with football. The Lion Heart picks up right where the Second Coming leaves off and deals more with the pressure of fame and fortune surrounding top tier athletes and the inherent problems that come along with celebrity.

Kingston and Poppy’s story is a slow burn that I enjoyed. He's football royalty and he's dealing with the pressure by not dealing. He's a party boy wit

“Don’t judge a book by its cover, 5 stars”

Remember that old saying don’t judge a book by its cover when referring to people? That saying is absolutely fitting for Kingston Phillips. Everyone sees the image he projects but they don’t really know him. Well no one outside of his small circle of friends. When he sees Poppy he wants her but she’s so far outside of his league. Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance?

Nerdy Dirty & Flirty

This newest book by Carrie Aarons featured a player on and off the field, and a model not interesting in playing. Both are haunted and damaged by events from their pasts. But the attraction between them is undeniable. The more time they spend together, the more complicated their relationship becomes.

Kingston was definitely a multilayered character. I never imagined his carefree, womanizing persona hid so much pain and hurt from his past. Poppy was also struggling with events from her past a

What was not to love about these two?!?! Poppy was one of the most sought after young supermodels and Kingston was from football royalty but that didn’t mean she gave him the time of the day. The only woman to constantly turn him down was Poppy. He saw that as a challenge but there was so much more to this supermodel which surprised me and I enjoyed. She was insanely humble and wasn’t much for club scenes. Kingston was the total opposite, lol, and a jokester which I loved. But these two had in c ...more

The second book in the Rogue Academy series was brilliant, and it was great to read about Poppy & Kingston. Having met both characters in the first book I couldn’t wait to find out more.

In places I found this story really very emotional. It was sad, emotional, heartwarming and romantic all in one, wrapped up with a bow on top.

Poppy really doesn’t like Kingston to start but as she learns more about him and the secrets and hurts that run inside him, she gathers more of an understanding of wha

The second installment in the Rogue Academy will delight you with its witty banter and strong characters.

Kingston and Poppy have both created a name for themselves in their respective worlds, which often cross. But when they discover how much more their worlds will intersect, life gets a bit crazy. They both come with their prejudices and preconceived against each other, but each of them harbored their own grief and broken hearts. Poppy thinks Kingston is merely a vapid and egotistical player, a

Author of romance novels such as The Tenth Girl and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.

When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She live
