Shamrock

Fifteen years ago, I became the President of the Emerald Isle MC . . . At the ripe age of twenty-two.
It wasn’t supposed to go down like that, though. Back then, I was young and enjoying life— and freshly in love with the girl of my dreams.
Faylinn O’Shea wasn’t just any girl. She was my Vice President’s daughter, my sister’s best friend, and a club princess— but she was mine.
And our rival club, the Devil’s Den, did the only thing they could to hurt us— they took my Faylinn.
So, for the last fifteen years, I’ve ran the club and spent every night searching for her. Even though her brothers have accepted the probability of her death— I can’t. I’ll keep searching for her until I bring her home, dead or alive. I won’t stop until we have a reunion or a funeral.
My determination pays off, but the reunion isn’t as epic as I’d hoped for.
Fifteen years as a prisoner was bound to change her, and Faylinn isn’t the sweet, little love of my life anymore. She’s still the love of my life, I just don’t know if I’m still hers.
I do know one thing, though, I’m going to get revenge for her, for all the time she lost, and I’ll become a savage worse than her captors to make sure they pay for what they did to my woman.

Courtney grew up in Baltimore and is pretty sure she threw her ability to give a f**k into the Inner Harbor long before high school. Like almost every writer on the planet, she started writing at a very young age. Her “way with words” led to her being the go-to person for writing funeral speeches for a long time.

For fourteen years she worked full-time as a paranormal investigator and demonologist until retiring in 2014. During that time, she had three children, earned a degree in Psychology, and eventually got back to writing.

Today she lives in Middle Tennessee with her children and boyfriend, and spends the majority of her time writing things that make people smile while cutting their emotions deep, running her own professional editing company, and enjoying life

I’ve read a string of awful MC books recently, so I was pleasantly surprised at how this one panned out. Firstly, the writing is good. Although we’re up in these characters heads it’s not all mindless telling. Secondly, the women characters are all kick-arse. Faylinn, who has been kidnapped, raped and tortured for the past 15 years holds her own in any situation, even as she struggles to finds her way. Then we have the trio of strip-club owning mercenaries (a lot less cheesy than it sounds, promise) who are killing machines and take over the heavy lifting from the MC. Thirdly, this book was pretty light considering we’re dealing with rape, torture, PTSD and revenge. And lastly, the romance wasn’t rushed, which was appropriate considering what Faylinn has been through.

A few issues though. There’s so many characters, and they all have a road name and given name, both of which are used profusely. It got confusing. I found it hard to remember who was linked to who. And with names like Volcano, Glitter, Hipfire, Katnip, Asteroid, Adonis, Ironhide, Soundwave, Inferno, Dungeon, and Arctic, just to name a few...I couldn’t help but smile.

There were a few times I had to put on my rose-coloured romance goggles but on the whole there was enough her for me to want to check out the next book.

This book was rough, raw and fabulous! It truly had everything I love in an MC story. There was family, loyalty, love, romance, violence and vengeance. I would highly recommend this book.

This was not exactly what I was expecting. But. In a good way.
I was totally ready to read about a broken woman who was just trying to remember how to be free.
And it was that, in a way, but Fay was just so much stronger than that description would have you believe.
She was totally a badass.

I loved the way her and Finn fall back together so easily.
Not to say they didn’t have bumps along the way, but their love just sort of filled in all the canyons and crevices that Fay’s absence and experiences caused each of them.

I loved the plot.
The sex was hot and so loving and caring most times.
Though the dirty talk was a teensy bit lacking.
The found-family, and just plain old, real family feels were strong and I loved getting to meet all the side characters.

I’ll probably move to a different series for now, but I’ll be back to see how the others find their HEA’s, sometime.
I’m glad this cover caught my eye.

Oh my dayz. What a story.

Shamrock is book one of the Emerald Isle MC series and it’s a fantastic start to this series.

Faylinn and Shamrock. Wow. Seriously this story pulled on so many of my emotions. Last night I opened my kindle to read a chapter or two. At fifty per cent I reluctantly put it down to get some sleep. Today I zoomed around getting stuff done so I could sit and read. I popped a pizza in oven for my son and next thing you know my sons saying something’s burning. Yep I burnt his pizza. This book was so so good I forgot everything going on around me.

I’m not going to rehash the story for you. The blurb is long enough to give you a glimpse of what’s in store. I will say the writing is amazing and this will be one of my favourite reads this year.
I’m very fussy when it comes to MC reads. I read loads of them a few years ago and I kinda got burnt out with them. Thankfully I gave this a shot and I’m so delighted I did.

I can’t wait to read more of Shamrock and his MC.

This is not an MC book, a smut book, or a romance book. This is just a damn good book!! I fell in love with the whole crazy lot! Courtney has brought to life some vivid, wonderful, amazing, honest, real characters in a plot that never gets stereotypical. This story is raw and real and f*****g delicious!! Do not read this story if you aren’t ready to fall in love and be engrossed in the Emerald Isle! It will suck you and have you feeling like your lady bits are getting brushed by that super lucky 4 leaf clover! Your heart will break and burst for Fay and Shamrock, but they will shamrock your world!! A truly refreshing masterpiece with everything you could possibly want in a delightful novel with just the right amount of enchanting brogue whispering, panty dropping, belly laughing, sex with leather and wheels, swoon worthy club members to make you feel the luck of the Irish *intimately*

Finally a strong Heroine!

Shamrock/Finn has loved Faylinn forever and vice versa. That is why he has never stopped searching for her in the last 15 years since the Devil's Den MC kidnapped her.

Faylinn also known as Artic or Doll has suffered unimaginable things at their hands. After 15 years of torment one of the women help her escape. Shamrock is out searching for her when she literally falls in front of him in the road. Luck of the Irish maybe?

However Faylinn doesn't come back the same person. Surrounded by family and friends and with the love of Finn she can finally begin to heal. Or would that be the justice that was sealed out helped?

I absolutely loved the Mercs Motormouth, Katnip, and Volcano and really hope to see more of them in the other books.

Oh man, oh man, oh man this story is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!

You don’t know how strong you truly are until your but through hell and survive and that’s exactly what happened to Faylinn. Everything that has happened to her over the last 15 years has been nothing but torture so when she has the chance to escape it, she takes it and doesn’t look back.

Guys, I highly recommend signing up for Courtney Lynn Rose’s newsletter and reading Arctic (plus you get updates on what she is working on which is a plus lol). I can’t wait for more in this series!! 🖤🔥🍀🔥🖤

This author is becoming a favorite of mine. She has the ability to pull you into a story and blow your mind. This was an emotional read and it balanced well with the grittiness of an MC book. Finn and Faylinn will leave a powerful impression on you. Five amazing stars!

Emotional, dark and intense

Shamrock is the first book in the Emerald Isle MC series is one enthralling and fascinating story which grabs you and then quickly immerses you in a world that you get lost in. The story is intricate, interwoven, character driven and has a great mix of drama, action, darkness (and I do mean darkness), hardship, and one wild emotional ride. Be warned there are a lot of triggers in this story, even I had to put it down a few times to walk away and read something lighter become coming back for more. But every time I picked it up again I was thrown right back into a story that would not quit.

First off, I must say that I was Very Surprised to learn this is the author’s first MC series. I am an avid MC reader and may I say the storyline held me captive from start to finish. And the characters, OMG I couldn’t help but love them - all of them. They are a family by blood, brotherhood or association that stands together and boy do they pack a punch when needed.

My heart broke for both Finn “Shamrock” Adair, the clubs Prez, and Faylinn O’Shea, the club’s princess and Finn’s woman from the time first met her. Faylinn is taken by a rival club. Club wars and MC brothers have died over her disappearance. But still Finn refused to give up the search. For 15 years he has looked for her, rotating the search every other night with one of her brothers. Finn is determined to bring her home - either back home to him alive or dead where he can give her a proper burial. As for Faylinn, she was taken by a rival club and for 15 years she was caged, beaten, and violated, but her heart and soul stayed strong. Then one night, one of the club girls helps her escape and she if miraculously found on the side of the road by Finn, the love of her life whose his image and love kept her strong for 15 years. Shamrock brings her home but she is far from the vibrant young woman everyone knew. But Shamrock and the family are determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe and help her heal. Revenge in on everyone’s minds while the Devil's Den MC (the club that took Faylinn) want her back.

This is a very well written storyline with surprises this reader wasn’t expecting. The story touched my emotions on every level: I laughed, cried, signed and want to reach in the book and hurt a few people. The characters are so well defined I felt like part of the cast riding along on this thrilling, romantic, exciting journey. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for what the reader feels is going to be one phenomenal series. I highly recommend grabbing up Shamrock, Book 1 in the Emerald Isle MC Series, ASAP and get in on this outstanding series from the beginning.

This is the start of a new MC series, and its gonna blow your socks off, and is off to a great start.
She was taken from her family and friends. She never gave up hope that someday she would be found and rescued from her own personal hell. He lost his love and never stopped looking for her.
They found each other by accident, after fifteen long years, and both are changed. Their love has survived and is growing stronger everyday, but the past is coming to reclaim her. Can they prove to be whole together or will the past blow them apart, and they will be broken forever.

This was my first time reading Courtney Lynn Rose and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! My heart broke for Faylinn and eveything she's been through over the last 15 years, and I gotta give Sham props for never stopping to look for his girl after all that time passed. The character development is fantastic, the dialogue is fresh and the pace of the story is just fast enough to keep moving forward but not so fast that it feels like parts of the story aren't being told. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series!

Courtney brings it all to the table in her debut MC novel—everlasting love, family, friendship, loyalty, action, grit, and steam. Finn is the perfect mix of a growly alpha male and a loving man. Faylinn is one badass female lead. She’s been through hell and back, and while she does struggle with her past at times, her fierceness coupled with the love of her man and her family fuel her will to fight. And fight she does. Shamrock was a great read and I can’t wait for the next one in this series.

MC + Mercenaries = Magic!

I didn't feel like this was a typical MC read, it had so much more!
I almost didn't read it due to the topic of rape, kidnapping/abduction & held for15 years. These are hard limits for me. However the Irish factor, the possibility of redemption, revenge and recovery made me read this book. Now I'm not going to say some parts weren't difficult to read ( the author doesn't go into to much graphic description) because some of it was. I'm also not going to tell you parts of this story didn't make me sick to my stomach because it did. The fact that men still feel they have the right to take something or someone that doesn't belong to them or given freely still makes me sick!
I will say Finn aka Shamrock and all the brothers and sisters off set the horrific parts. They bring in love, laughter and loyalty! Finn and Faylinn are one of those couples that are an epic love story and together they overcome all Faylinn aka Artic/little wolfe endures. Because Fay is strong she refuses to break mentally to her captures! They broke her body not her spirit or heart, that belongs to Finn! Let's talk about the Mercs holy $h'¡! We're they not some b@d@$$ female characters! Every women needs to have friends like them!
This is a new author to me and I will gladly read more books by her.
Is this a difficult read? Yes, yes it is! Is it a book that I enjoyed? Hard one to answer, I enjoyed seeing Inferno and Dungeon get exactly what they deserved and didn't feel guilty about it at all. Does that make me a monster? Maybe, maybe not. You'll have to read the book and decide for yourself what type of punishment men should get for what they did to Faylinn, an innocent 18 yr old with her whole future ahead of her. I am completely ok with an eye for an eye punishment. Possibly because I'm a Irish/American ginger female & mother.
So do I recommend reading yes, do I also caution you there are some hard topics and possible triggers in this book, yes. But there is also a great story, amazing characters and friends, love story and secondary characters that deserve their stories told. Dire and Carrigan aka Banschee story next ( out March 17). I will say it was a little difficult keeping up with characters real names and club names because they would repeatedly be called by either making it difficult to follow & figure out which brother we were talking about. Still 3.75 star rating from me.

Wow....this book made me go through all the feels. I cried, laughed, cheered Faylinn and Shamrock on, got mad, and felt proud. Faylinn was kidnapped on her graduation day. Fifteen years and she was still missing. Shamrock never gave up looking for her. For fifteen years he went out every night to look for Faylinn. Only one of her brothers out of her four remaining brothers still would go out at night looking for her. Shamrock and Dire, Faylinn’s brother, took turns every night going out. Faylinn’s Dad and oldest brother were murdered. Faylinn finally escapes with the help of another girl that was in the camp. After fifteen years Shamrock found Faylinn on the side of the road. No one could believe she was alive. Faylinn’s brothers were thrilled to have her back but no one was as happy as Shamrock. He was not about to let anyone get between them again not even her brothers. Faylinn had a lot of adjustments that she had to make and so much had changed while she was gone. Shamrock also changed from the trusting young man he was to a hard man that took over leadership for the Emerald Isle MC. Faylinn and Shamrock had to rebuild their lives and try to find their way back to each. They both had to try and find the love for each other and make it grow to become the unbreakable, HEA love that they once were so sure of. I won’t say any more so I don’t spoil this book for you. I will say that you MUST read this book and be prepared for the twist and turns and getting all the feels that happens throughout this book. Highly recommended.

Courtney is one amazing writer and this book so proves that. I absolutely loved this one from beginning to end. It was so very well written, emotional, amazing characters, intense and gripping. I was hooked from the beginning, on the edge of my seat through the middle, had my heart stop a couple of times and overjoyed at the end. This was quite the storyline. Courtney knows how to hook you into a book and keep you there with amazing characters who bring the story to life. You feel each and every emotion the main characters are going through when you read one of her books. This one had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen. I felt everything that Faylinn and Finn go through together.
15 years ago Fayline disappears. Finn looks for her every night for the past 15 years. He never stops loving her. Finally one night he finds her on the side of the road. But things between them are never going to be the same because of what she went through the last 15 years. Faylinn isnt the same person. Will these two find their way back to each other? Faylinn is one amazing character. She is a badass, strong through everything she is put through and loves with all she is. I absolutely loved her character.
This was an amazing MC book. It had all the right things in it that made it a great book from beginning to end. I cant wait to read more from this series. Courtney did a wonderful job with this one. Started the series off perfectly.

I have finally read this book and I loved it. It is gritty, dark and does talk of abuse, rape and other stuff, so if you have triggers than you need really need to tread carefully. It does not glaze over those facts. So lets meet Shamrock and Faylinn. These two fell in love at a very young age and were about to embark on their journey together. However, that all gets ripped away when Faylinn is taken. Fay has learned to become unemotional, like a void of a human however she is tough. She has just about given up on all hope. Just a sliver resides and that is the memory of Shamrock. Even though Fay has been through a lot of darkness she manages to get free and Shamrock finds her. Shamrock has not given up on Fay and is bound and determined to bring her home regardless if she is alive or dead. He has dealt with a lot since he is not the Pres of the Emerald Isle MC. He has not stopped searching for Fay and when he finds her, he knows he will have a challenge to bring her some peace. These two have a journey ahead of them. To discover each other, understand what each other went through and he learns that Fay will through punches without question. Shamrock sees that she is different but he still loves her regardless. Can their love rise from the ashes and blaze again? Will they get their happily ever after. It is a great start to a series and I cannot wait to read more.

This was my first read by this author. It wasn’t a bad read. I would read the next in the series. I was entertained by the Deadpool-Esque mercenaries. They brought some humor into what would have been a heavy story.
As heavy as the content was, it was almost too light? The heroine is strong and fierce, no doubt, but she barely has any trauma after 15 YEARS. No psychotherapy, very little rage therapy, no sexual trigger PTSD. It’s only a couple of weeks between returning and sex with the hero. AND there is very little concern over the long term medical issues our girl might have. Even then, it’s only in regards to her future reproduction, no concerns about STIs.
Names were an issue. Road names and given names are used interchangeably all over. And then we have lots of traditional Irish names with lots of Cs of Fs so it got confusing.
Lastly what really knocked off stars was Finn/Shamrock. In the first pages he clearly states he’s looking for his love for 15 years but still getting his rocks off when he needs to. Then he tells her woman he would wait for her if she never wants sex. Why didn’t he before? And he always says he’s always waited for her. Uh, no ya didn’t.

This book is the 1st book in the Emerald Isle MC series and what an introduction we get to a new series. This story features Shamrock and Faylinn's raw dark and gritty story and this book discusses some sensitive subject matter rape, abuse as well as some other issues so be prepared if you have triggers. Shamrock and Faylinn fell in love when they were very young and were planning their future together but that's stolen from them when Faylinn is taken by a rival MC. Shamrock never gives up searching for her even now 15yrs later he still goes out every night and searches. Until their prayers are answered and Faylinn finally has the chance to escape and she takes it and she's reunited with Shamrock. Faylinn has endured a lot in the past 15yrs so she's not going to be the same sweet girl that he fell in love with that doesn't mean that he loves her any less. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this dark raw and gritty story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Whoa

That was an intense ride. I have to be upfront... there are a ridiculous amount of triggers in this book, so it’s not for everyone. However, if you’re a fan of Sons of Anarchy, this is your book. Gritty, violent, brutal and very real, the boys of Emerald Isle MC are the very definition of Alpha Male. 15 years ago Finn “Shamrock” Adair had his life turned upside down. His girl is kidnapped, his Dad (who is also his Club President) is killed and Finn has to step up as the new Prez. He never gave up hope that Faylinn would come back to him. Faylinn O’Shea had just graduated, and was young and in love when she was kidnapped by a rival gang. For 15 years she was imprisoned, beat and violated by the Devil’s Den MC. Escaping turned out to be the easy part. This book follows characters trying to figure out how to exist in a world completely different than what they’ve known. Revenge, rage, healing, and love are the themes in this book. Like I said very intense, but a great read!

Faylinn, the daughter of the vice president of the Emerald Isle MC, was kidnaped and held by a rival MC. For all of those 15 years of captivity she was raped, gang raped, sodomized, forced to cage fight, beaten, and tortured. She is finally helped to escape by a clubwh**e. During that time, the EIMC has changed dramatically. Her father and the MC president were killed when she was then, her teenage boyfriend is now the president, Shamrock, her brothers are now officers in the MC. But in all that time, Shamrock and Dire, his VP and Failing's brother have never given up hope of finding her and search for her every night. When she escapes, she runs right into Shamrock's arms. This book is intense, brutal, full of twists, turns, steamy, and more. I've only read one or two other books by Courtney Lynn Rose, but this MC series has really grabbed me. Best of all, this series is available to read for free on Kindle Unlimited. I'm looking forward to reading Dire's book up next.

3 Loving You Means Stars

Shamrock is the first book in the Emerald Isle MC series by Courtney Lynn Rose.

I didn’t hate this book. But I do think it could use serious editing. It felt majorly rushed, and entirely too choppy for my tastes.

Finn and Faylinn’s relationship is a emotional thunderstorm. It’s full of heat and gripping love. There’s so much romance beyond what MC’s tend to offer. With the entire cast putting heavy stock in not only familial bonds but respect towards the women. They’re all a little too romantic and heart on their sleeves for this to anything remotely believable.

I did enjoy the inclusion of the mercenary strippers. Motormouth, Volcano, etc. are all supremely interesting conceptual characters. But again I don’t feel Courtney did them justice. Alas the creativity that went into this story is it’s primary saving grace. A cute little fantasy, filled with gore, heart, and revenge.

I LOVED this book. It is a MC book for sure. The guys of the EIMC are not to be messed with. They protect their own and deliver justice when it is called for. They are 100% alpha males. However, this story shows you that they not only work and play hard but they love hard. The lengths Shamrock and Dire go to to find Faylynn. The lengths Shamrock goes to to keep his promises he made to her. A love that true and strong is rare! Is it enough to overcome 15 years of trauma? Can both of them move forward and love who they are now? Will revenge provide closure? There is a twist that caught me totally by surprise and really took this book to another level! I did not see it coming! No spoilers! You will have to read the book to find out what it is! Lol...it is worth It! This is a must read book! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from the author. I can not wait to read more from this author and this series!!!!

A dark and twisted MC romance read

Faylinn, Emerald Isle MC princess, has been missing for fifteen years and Shamrock, now Prez of EIMC, has not stopped looking for her since the night she was taken. As the story progresses a chance for escape is presented, help in retribution comes from unexpected allies, and learning to live the new normal is not as easy as either of them want. Courtney Lynn Rose crafted a dark and twisted MC romance read when she put shamrock in print. You can’t help but fall in love with the damaged characters and don’t be surprised if you find yourself egging the on in some of their payback. I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the top five and whoever else speaks to the author about wanting to find their old lady. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.

Finn/Shamrock spent 15 years looking for Faylinn. Now she's back, but she's not the same woman. I'm in awe of his complete devotion to finding her, and then to helping her heal. Faylinn is amazing, having survived all that she did, never once allowing Inferno to take her heart or hope away. Motormouth and her crew were awesome, providing some amusing moments while supplying additional firepower and some interesting weapons. The MC has a great atmosphere, with the close family feeling, and their better-than-usual treatment of the club women. The book is dark and gritty, with descriptions of rape and abuse in the past, and torture and death, both past and present. It's an incredible story. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

I loved this continuation of Finn and Faylinn's life together getting to watch not only Faylinn get to have closure on her nightmares but to see everyone get some payback for all they lost over the years. The addition of the lady mercenaries was freakin brilliant! I love a bad@ss female character and Faylinn is a total bad@ss too. When she starts to kick the clubwh**es a** I was like YES! I loved it! Gettin to see her grow closer and open up to Shamrock/Finn was SAF. Those two definitely make up for lost time. But when she finally gets a go at Inferno I was crying it was so heartbreaking finding out exactly what they did to her for all those years it was horrific but it was also cleansing for her so it made it worth it. When Faylinn and Finn are together it's off the charts SMOKIN HOT! My Kindle was heating up. Lol. I love how the whole family comes together to help bring her some semblance of peace. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!

Shamrock/Finn and Faylinn

This is my first time reading this author and she did an amazing job with this story. Faylinn was kidnapped from a rival club and kept for fifteen years and sadly endured rape and beatings constantly. She was actually able to escape with the help of another clubwhore, that was sold to them by her father for his debts. Finn never gave up and neither did her brother, Dire. They alternated days to go out looking for her. Faylinn has issues and who wouldn't under the circumstances she suffered, but she is a strong and resilient woman. The love these two have for each other is totally awesome and I look forward to them enjoying life and have some peace. The author brought in some other characters that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about and they are total badass ladies. Happy reading.
