Sometimes the paths we carve out for our lives aren’t the paths we should be taking. Jane Porter’s OH, CHRISTMAS NIGHT is that heart-warming, charming and sigh-worthy holiday romance that feels like a Hallmark movie with words.

An over-worked, under-appreciated workaholic inherits a charming small-town bookstore, now Rachel just needs to figure out what to do with it. Meanwhile, wealthy businessman, Atticus Bowen wants the bookstore, but his idea is to turn it into an upscale restaurant with no

I don't need any excuse to visit Tule Publishing's stories set in Marietta, Montana. In fact, I'm always anticipating the next. I absolutely love the Montana Born books this publisher offers. In fact, I find a lot of new favorite authors. Oh, Christmas Night was a sweet, endearing story. Not only did this novel give us a true love story, but also a Christmas experience; Marietta style. In addition, Jane Porter is an author I have read many times over and her writing is incredible. Her talent for ...more
3.5 stars, I really wish we could give 1/2 stars.

Oh, Christmas Night is another in the Marietta canon. Rachel, from Irvine, California, has inherited a used bookstore in the Montana town her mom grew up in. Atticus, from Houston, Texas, wants to turn the building into a fancy steakhouse. I feel like the set up is excellent but the story falls a little flat. I liked it but felt impatient sometimes. There is Porter's characteristic warmth and good tie ins with other Marietta based stories. Atticus

A charming Christmas romance.

I was drawn into this book from the start. I really liked Rachel and wanted the best for her after she got passed over for a promotion at her job. Then, Rachel gets a package from her godmother, Lesley, informing her that she is giving her a book store in Marietta, Montana, the town her Rachel’s mother and grandparents used to live. After arriving in Marietta, Rachel finds herself loving the book store, but it was just more work than she expected.

I wasn’t sure what

If I had to pick one word to describe Jane Porter's Oh, Christmas Night it would be lovely. This is such a beautiful, romantic, sweet story. A perfect Christmas story, complete with small town, snow, Christmas spirit and romance. Set in Marietta, Montana, it brings the town to life and revisits some of our favorite Marietta characters. I loved the ending. It even brought a tear to my eye because it was so touching, and I don't usually cry. Wonderful story. You'll love it.

Rachel Mills knows that numbers and mathematics will never cause her emotional pain. She believes in logic. She will never be hurt again. Her mother's death taught her that love can break you. I was drawn to Rachel. She's internalized her feelings. I wanted her to learn to laugh and to love. I wanted Rachel to embrace her new opportunity. Paradise Books can give her a new perspective on life. I hoped that Marietta would enchant her just as it did me. Will it bring back memories of her mother? I ...more

Delightful, warm and cozy. Jane Porter is able to make you fall into the story from page 1. I was engaged and attached and never wanted the story to end! This was such a wonderful story I will be sure to recommend to my friends.

There are authors and series or worlds that I anticipate a Christmas release from long before the holidays get near. Marietta, Montana is one such world and Jane Porter is one of those authors that I will read anything she writes, especially Christmas stories. It was one of Ms. Porter’s stories that introduced me to Marietta, Montana – a reading addiction that I own, love, and freely admit to devouring any story placed in this unique, small town. So, we return to that
Change is an inherent part of life. Sometimes we welcome it. Sometimes we resist it. But chances happens, with or without our permission.” Atticus

A lovely Christmas romance from the talented Jane Porter set in Marietta, Montana, during the Christmas season.

Rachel Mills is an overworked and overlooked accountant in California who is given a bookstore in Marietta by her mom’s childhood friend. Rachel has not been back to Marietta since her mother’s death years ago. Nor has she really ever taken

Returning to Marietta, Montana and it’s residents in Jane Porter’s OH, CHRISTMAS NIGHT is like returning to a place where can be yourself surrounded by people who care about you. I love returning to the town, especially at the holidays, and Porter is one of the best at pulling you into the town and the story, making you feel like you are right in the middle of it. She does this while bringing new characters to the town, tying them to existing characters, and creating a place for them to stay and ...more
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. I love stories that take place in Marietta Montana. Jane Porter always writes fabulous stories about the people in Marietta. This book is about Rachel Mills and Atticus Bowen. Rachel has just been skipped over for the third time at her accounting firm for a promotion to manager. She is devastated and starts to question why she gives everything when women at her firm don’t seem to advance or get the same perks as the men. She receives a notice ...more

I was offered this ARC from the publisher and couldn’t say yes fast enough. Jane Porter is a new-to-me author, but Christmas and bookstores are a huge selling point with me. I’m glad I took this ARC, I enjoyed the story and I’m sure I’ll read more of this author’s work. And though I did like the story, there was something missing.

Seeing Rachel open up to having friends, and even more, through this story was beautiful. That part of the book was written with such a keen eye and really made me feel

Hallmark please make this book into a movie quickly. As I read Oh, Christmas Night by Jane Porter it felt like I was watching my favorite channel on TV. Of course I was back in my fictional hometown of Marietta with a large hot coffee and watching this wonderful love story unfold like while catching up with many of my favorite Mariettans. Neither Rachel Mills nor Atticus Bowen are natives to Marietta, but if you are familiar to this amazing little town in Montana, that doesn't mean much. As this ...more

You can’t go wrong with a Jane Porter Christmas book. Like Debbie Macomber, Ms. Porter’s books are sure to be favorite Christmas stories. More contemporary, crisp and the characters feel like friends by the book’s end, so that it is not the holiday season until one comes along. Oh, Christmas Night got me right into the Christmas spirit.
Atticus Bowen and Rachel Mills face off on opposite sides of business endeavors, each wanting to use an older building in Marietta, Montana. I thought of how Ree

A box of tissues is almost mandatory accompaniment for this wonderful tender Christmas love story. Atticus Bowen, the hero of the story—and what a true gentleman hero he is—is just about as close to the man of my dreams as a hero could get. He is warm, kind, considerate and caring and, yes, he’s also driven to succeed, but not at the cost of Rachel’s happiness. She’s wrapped herself up tightly in her numbers and her accountancy skills, certain that if she rejects even the notion of falling in ...more

So I will start by saying that you must read this book for yourself it is a really, really good book about two people who each have control issues but compliment each other perfectly.

A wonderful story about facing one’s doubts and finding the courage and confidence to change and set different life goals, “Oh, Christmas Night”, by Jane Porter (Tule Publishing), features an incredibly serene hero who falls head over heels for the slightly troubled heroine.
It’s a charming romance novel, which avoids some clichés in a very subtle way: unlike the usual expectancies in this kind of fiction, it’s the hero who dresses up

Born in Visalia, California, I'm a small town girl at heart. I love central California's golden foothills, oak trees, and the miles of farmland. In my mind, there's nothing sweeter in the world than the heady fragrance of orange blossoms on a sultry summer night.

As a little girl I spent hours on my bed, staring out the window, dreaming of far off places, fearless knights, and happy-ever-after
