Reviewing a book that you received as an ARC is a serious job. Being the first on Goodreads to do that for/to a book is even more serious – because you mark the book first and who ever will follow will see this and will maybe make up his mind because of whatever you wrote.

So let me start at the beginning … “The Night He Saved me” is the Debut novel from Sarah Stevens and it is a good debut.

Her writing is solid and the plot as well as the character development are good.

I choose the book because I

Josie's Review

The Night He Saved Me is a debut novel by this author and all and all it was a pretty good story. The author did an amazing job writing this story. It was strong and the character development and relationship and very well developed. The blurb to this novel was so inviting and I have to say Kat and James’s were so full of surprises, secrets and suspense. The alternate POV’s truly helped me to get a better reading on the characters. I want to warn potential readers, although the

I thought The night he saved me was a good read that had a lot of heart but at times I couldn't really connect with what was going on . This would be the first book that I've read by Sarah Stevens and I want to read more by her in the future .

1.5 Stars

This standalone was way over the top, way too cheesy and way too dramatic. I'm surprised my eyes still function after all that eye-rolling!

I'm pretty sure this is the first book I've read in which the prologue had no function whatsoever. We learn a couple things about Kat's past but those are never picked up again. So why bother with a prologue at all?

The story itself was not believable at all and like I mentioned in the beginning it was way too dramatic. Also, what was the deal with

**4 Tear Shedding Stars**

I’ll be honest readers, I cry a lot at books, but I found myself truly welling up a lot at this book. It was truly emotionally charging, but I’ve always loved a good cry. Not only did I cry though, I was hooked from chapter 1!

Katarina is a sweet young woman, who makes some dicey decisions, one in particular altering her life. James is an incredibly intense man, immediately recognizing Katarina for who she is and what she is. The love James shows is mesmerizing and

Katarina meets James at a time when her world comes tumbling down and he saves her. What will happen between the two of them and can they save themselves from their problems? Ms. Stevens writes an emotional story that had me smiling, crying, and just feeling overall good. I was hooked from the first chapter and could not ...more

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

If you like your books emotionally charged then pull up a chair because this one is for you. This is a highly emotional story that has its raw and gritty moments.

As far as the plot goes, I liked it. There is heaps of drama in this book. So much is going on. The drama in the story kept me compelled to keep turning the pages. I was totally invested in the story. I liked all

O.M.G!! I don't know what to say. So I loved the story of Kat and James so much!!! There were so many twists and turns, I actually gasped out loud at one point, cause it came from nowhere, and I love books like that!!
Kat is having a difficult time at home and meets Bren. They end up going to a party and doing some drugs, and drinking on top of that.
At the earlier parties she meets James, yet she doesn't know his name until a little while later. They both have the same pull towards one another,

This is the first book I read from Sarah... it kept me intrigued at all times and definitely wanting more... James has wanted Kat from the moment he laid eyes on her but he knew she was not ready for him... Kat is trying to make it through high school with a roller coaster of emotions... the only problem is that they both have a secret that without knowing links them for eternity...

I was full of angst, anger, rage and most definitely love for this amazing story... the way all the characters

The bones of this story are fantastic. I can truly see how with work this book could be an incredible read. But as it stands right now it’s just not for me. Obviously this author has talent and the potential is there for greatness, but there were some things I just could not move past in this.
First was the age. I’m generally cool with NA that starts in high school and I realize the age gap between Katarina and James isn’t that large. But a 17 year old still in school being lusted after

Amazing story about a girl named Katarina. The book starts of with Katarina in high school. Stress out about her studies she ends up going to a party that changes her life. James one look and he wants Katarina and will do anything to keep her safe. But what if he is the problem? Lots of heartache and intense situations but love conquers all. A good Ya read. I can’t wait to read about Bren’s story next 4/5 stars

This was an interesting read for me, parts I loved and parts I did not enjoy and considering it was the author's first book you need to give it a go, it touches on some pretty emotional subjects. We get both POV from the two central characters and also some chapters go over the same points in time to explain the other characters perspective, I must say some of these worked for me and others not so much.

The biggest thing I kept telling myself was the two young friends were both 17 and hence some

Oh the feels while reading this story. Kat's world turns upside down one night while her and Bren are out. James has seen Kat a few times now and from the moment he seen her, she was under his skin. Love at first sight is how to best describe this from James' side.
Kat luckily has Bren by her side during all this after hiding everything from her. This is a true best friend who is like a sister to you. James is what a true man should be when it comes to someone special like Kat. He didn't care

This is the first book that I have read by Sarah Stevens and I was truly impressed!!! Sarah definitely has a unique way of writing!!!

I love how in most chapters that she first tells the story in Kat's view and then will add James's view. Sarah does an amazing job of describing what is happening and making you feel like you are there, witnessing things as they happen. Kat and Bren are the best of friends. At the start of the book, they are both 17 and seniors in high school. They do things that

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful love story.

One night can change your whole life. When Kat and best friend Bren decide to party
things get out of hand and Kats life will forever be changed.

This story was a bit predictable but when you read as many books as I do I think sometimes you can finish the book yourself. With that being said I really liked the story!

Author Sarah Stevens has a great thing going with the characters she has developed in The night he Saved

Fabulous debut book

Wow what a great book from a brand new author. There were so many twists and turns that when a part was revealed to me as a reader I was like WTF I never saw that coming. I loved how the author set the stage for each character she built them into three dimensional people. As a reader it was easy getting lost in the story and finding yourself yelling at some of the characters. The settings that author used were so descriptive you were able to visualize where the characters were

This is the first book from Sarah Stevens. I really enjoyed it.

Katrina goes to a party one night and her life is never the same again. She had so many plans of what she wanted her life to be like. Now it is all up in the air.

James had an instant attraction to Katrina. The connection to her. Where will that go? Will everything that happens pull them closer together or push them apart.

I was hooked from the first chapter. Recommend you give this book a try.

This was a really sweet story! I read this for an honest review and I wasn't disappointed. I loved the character development of Kat. At the beginning of the book she was a very immature high schooler but due to a tragic event she grew up very quickly.

James was really sweet. I love how he just instantly knew that he wanted Kat. He was so protective and loving.

I loved this book and would definitely recommend this. I look forward to more books from this author!

The Night He Saved Me was an emotional read for me, due to some of the content that really got me since it felt so realistic. This is the story of Katarina, whose life changes in the blink of an eye. Her mother moves them to a new place to start over after some family crap hits the fan, and this is when said mother gets married to a new man. This is also the point when Kararina starts acting out, because of the constant fighting with mom & new step dad. It didn't help that she needs some ...more

3.5 stars.

Let me start by saying for a debut novel this book was good it just lacked filler, the storyline seemed a little rushed.

We first meet Kat when she is going through some changes in her life and this leads her to do some stupid things. While i did like Kat i failed to connect with her fully, part of that is due to how rushed the storyline is. Something bad happens and she just carrys on, as more and more things keep happening to her we dont feel the true depths of how she feels. Then

Okay, super good read, but it was a bit to fast for me to completely love it.

As much as I tried to connect to Kat and James it just seems like because we went from one big thing to another with no in-between stuff I just couldn’t make the true connection to them. The storyline was incredible though and I believe with a little bit of fine tuning and maybe some added content this book could be absolutely incredible!

Sarah Stevens is a New Adult Romance author.

Sarah started writing her first novel The Night He Saved Me in her free time while being a stay-at-home mom. Then one day, it started to flow, and she was writing "The End" in a matter of two months.

When she isn't writing, she is enjoying the southern life with her husband, three kids, a Saint Bernard—who is still adjusting to the southern summers and
