I’m only 37% into the book and already can tell it’s going to be a high starred read for me, maybe even my first 5 star book of the year.

Old school western romance, but absolutely beautifully written. Stunning prose, and a plot that leaves me amazed!

Amy Harmon at her best! This is my 4th book by this author and I am sure of one thing after reading it - Amy Harmon can really write. Her prose is beautiful, flow of this story is well-paced and her characters are real-like and fleshed out.

Moreover, with this novel, she proves that she is great author of historical fiction. Firstly What the Wind Knows and now Where the Lost Wander. It was clear that Amy Harmon did her research well and provided detailed depiction of given historical

Amy Harmon does it again and I can't even say I'm surprised. She's a dynamic writer, with each book being better than the last. Where the Lost Wander may be my new favorite of hers, and if I hadn't already made my list of favorite books for the year, this beauty would have been at the top of the list. The word that comes to mind as I reflect on this book is: rich. The writing, the storytelling, the characters, the pacing, literally every facet of the book is exquisitely done.

Plain and simple, straight to the point: This book was STUNNING. Absolutely 100% stunning. All of it. Every single page. Every single word.

While reading Where the Lost Wander, Amy broke my heart. Absolutely shattered it. But when it was all said and done, she healed me so completely in a way that only she can-- a beautiful way. Not only that but Amy has such a way with creating worlds and settings and bringing them

APRIL 2020 - is when WtLW is releasing and I'm so excited.

I have a shelf dedicated to books that take place or mention my home state of OREGON!! And since this book is set on the Oregon Trail I couldn't be happier.

When we hear the words - The Oregon Trail I'm sure most of us think of the computer game where everyone always seemed to die from dysentery. Here's hoping these characters fair better.

“My mother’s people called me Two Feet. One white foot, one Pawnee foot, but I am not split down the middle, straddling two worlds. I am simply a stranger in both.”

The ache that I feel in my heart after finishing this masterpiece is very real. John “Two Feet” Lowry & Naomi “many faces” May just took the pieces of my broken heart, and carefully mended it back together.

I always walk away from reading one of Amy’s books feeling as though I’ve had an education. I became fully immersed in this

Gets better and better ... <3 One of my favorite historical romance.
Simply STUNNING!

Where the Lost Wander is a historical romance - a love story between John and Naomi during their trek toward the west. It depicts the hardship, sacrifice, fear, and death the people face along the way. Naomi is a widower and John is half white and half Pawnee. They are an unlikely pair, but they bonded and fell in love through all the adversity. There is a lot going in this book than a love story to really

A few things that'll usually be an instant read for me: historical romance, westerns, cultural differences coming together, and Amy Harmon.

THE GOOD
1) The journey on the Oregon Trail feels pretty realistic. At times it's pretty mundane. Sometimes, you're hearing about disease and death. Other times, you're finding camaraderie in the most unlikely ways. And sometimes when you don't want it to happen, friends die in the quickest and most horrible ways.

2) Naomi and John Lowry were likeable

Oh man this is a hard review to write. You must know 2 things about me before I let you know how I feel about this book. I love Amy Harmon. Her writing touches me deeply and I love to escape into good fiction not reality. My favorite books of hers are the ones where there is a magical element even if it is contemporary. This was very raw and real, the writing was beautiful and heart wrenching, but I almost put this book down I didn't want to read anymore. It just was too much. This review will ...more

Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon is an excellent, gripping, and emotional historical fiction that tells of the hardships and events that took place in the 1850s with the trips made out west to find opportunities for men and families alike.
Ms Harmon does an excellent job in depicting the landscapes, the locations, and the emotions of the characters involved. She definitely has a talent to paint a picture that is completely immersive and draws the reader so deep it is as if one is actually

I absolutely LOVE Amy Harmons books and her writing, in general, and thats why it is so hard for me to write this review.

Where the Lost Wander is a refreshing story. The plotline is different than everything Ive read before (actually I have read a book in a similar setting once), but unfortuanately I couldnt feel this story, not as much as I hoped I would.

I felt it was really hard to connect with the story and the characters. In fact, I

Where the Lost Wander is about the journey to the West on Oregon Trail in the mid-1800s and the hardships people faced. We meet Naomi May who is traveling with her family and John Lowry, a man who is half white and half Pawnee. John's story especially touched me. He is a man straddling both worlds, but not belonging to either one. Naomi and John take turns narrating the story. I especially enjoyed reading about the different Native American tribes; the author did a good job writing about them. ...more

It is evident that Amy painstakingly researched and did as much homework as possible when writing this story. You will feel a lot of things when reading it.
This haunting but beautiful love story ventures through loss, survival, hope, love, starting over, family, and finding your place in the world.

Naomi May is the type of shero we should all strive to be. She has this strength within her that radiates outwardly and brightly. She’s tough, she’s loving, she’s

My face hurts! Sigh. Sob. Sigh. Sob. Whelp.

I finished this epic tale late last night and I have dreamed the Wild West, the Oregon trail all night. I’ve had a theme tune on repeat in my head, probably from a 70s tv show.

I loved it!

Amy Harmon writes with such cinematography that I could hear the noise of the cartwheels as the beleaguered travellers followed the trail to the land of their dreams.

The May family are centre stage with their wagon loaded with all of their possessions. Naomi May is

Amy Harmon is a Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and New York Times Bestselling author. Amy knew at an early age that writing was something she wanted to do, and she divided her time between writing songs and stories as she grew. Having grown up in the middle of wheat fields without a television, with only her books and her siblings to entertain her, she developed a strong sense of what made a good ...more
