This felt like a typical middle-grade book but I was shocked at how bad it was. It felt like the author was striving for believable characters but really missed the mark multiple times. I personally imagine all four to be aged between ten and eleven, so having them say big words like Ignoramus or speak in full perfect grammar felt odd. I just found it strange that they would say 'they are' instead of 'they're' as most people would. I literally know zero people who speak in long formatted words ...more
Twins Angus and Cat, along with Angus's best friend, Del, find themselves in a bit of a bother while seeking adventure when school bully, Bradley, challenges them to take a ride down the river in a rusty canoe. The gang soon realise their mistake when their canoe capsizes and they are left stranded with a bully and having to evade capture by the stranger who lives in the isolated house on the hill.

For the most part, this book was an enjoyable read. I liked the characters. I thought the author

Cat and Mouse are 11 year old twins who enjoy going on adventures. They are bullied into taking a canoe ride that leads to problems. Then there is the issue of dealing with the person who bullied them and an old man who lives in a broken down house on a hill.

This is an action adventure book aimed at middle graders. This is a great book filled with well developed characters with interesting personalities. The storyline is filled with surprises, interesting twists and unexpected turns and great

This is an amazing middle school read. This book has awesome characters like the twins Angus and Catrina, plus Del and even Bradley whom we can remind us of the school bully we have all had to deal with. Interesting story with lots of page-turning action. This is perfect for those middle school kids.

Love the cover. This story didn’t turn out how I expected. It showed very true, how children’s imagination can get away from them. How to some people, something innocent can seem deadly. Also great to see the whole bully thing, given a new twist.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Karen Lee Field; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
