You Are Good Enough: Overcoming Feelings of Inadequacy

Rate this book
Feelings of inadequacy can be a helpful motivator. They can inspire someone with little confidence to the heights of success. However, there are many people who feel inadequate to an extent that is debilitating and prevents them from living a full life. Some are crippled by systems of shame and worthlessness. Dr. Furey presents practical and proven steps to help overcome inadequacy and get sufferers on the road to recovery. He helps readers to recognize the roots of inadequacy in identifiable circumstances such as abuse, neglect, or chronic illness. He teaches readers how to move out of the role of victim and adopt healing attitudes and behaviors.

This is one of the most inspiring and useful self-help books I have ever read. Oftentimes, authors get carried away with the details of a particular pathology but the reader is left asking: Okay, so what do I do? Furey provides the answers and actually goes further be narrating the healing journey. He provides guidance *and* inspiration. For those who have struggled with a low self opinion, or limiting feelings of shame, this is a must read!

I found this book inspiring, and, as I am at the beginning of my healing journey, I plan to read it again.

This was a terrible book. It rambles on and on describing what people are like. Gave up on it didn’t get to the end
