I didn't know anything about Canadian government, so I thought I should start by reading a book geared towards six year-olds. The book is informative, but I feel like I only remember the things that make Canadian government odd (the cermonial mace, the British monarch, and the Santa outfits that the supreme court wears).

I read this out loud to my kid while he was in an online grade 10 civics class.

The book was well written with the right amount of details. I also learnt a bunch about who runs our country.

I recommend that almost all Canadians read this book, or one like it. There is SO much misunderstanding of how our government works and who does what.
