The Mountain Monroes series is such a fun set of stories! I am really enjoying the overarching mystery that has woven its way through the books. These stories can be enjoyed as stand alones, however it has been so much fun to get to know the characters a little more as each novel releases.

Shane and Franny are definite opposites, yet somehow find that they are a good match. This story has humor and romance, as well as plenty of action and danger on the ranch. I enjoyed watching as Shane’s

I was so happy to finally get Shane's story. Shane wants to be in charge of something so bad and no one will listen to him. When Franny needs some help, it is Shane to the rescue. He is great with logistics. He may not know anything about ranching, but he can solve problems. Shane and Franny grow close, but Shane knows there is nothing for him to do in town and so he will not stick around. Franny wants him to stick around, but what would he do. She is the rancher and knows what she is doing. As ...more

The legend is that there is gold buried somewhere around Second Chance, Idaho. Shane Monroe believes that finding this hidden loot from stagecoach robber Merciless Mike will help make the town an appealing tourist attraction. Shane Monroe wants so badly to save the little town of Second Chance for both selfish and unselfish personal reasons. He wants to put his expertise in business to work with creative ideas to attract tourists to the area. Shane encounters local resistance; and while he works to smooth things over, he meets Franny, a widow with three children who owns the Bucking Bull Ranch. Franny and Shane share an attraction and admire each other’s skill sets, but are sure that a relationship would have no ...more

The Monroe Grandchildren are trying to adjust to the life changes brought about by the death of their grandfather. He left Second Chance to them. This is why Shane Monroe is in Idaho. He wants to help the town that meant so much to his grandpa. It's an uphill battle. The people are receptive and neither is most of his family. Shane is intrigued by the tales of hidden treasure. This could be just what's needed to bring tourists to town, but he has to find it first. I liked Shane. He is a good and ...more

4 1/2 STARS!

The matching of the Monroes continues in the fourth book of The Mountain Monroes series by Melinda Curtis. In LASSOED BY THE WOULD-BE RANCHER we get to know Shane Monroe better and watch him meet his match in Franny Clark. This series has many characters to keep track of with a large family and a town surrounding them, but each story brings us a new happy ending for one of the grandchildren sent to Second Chance, Idaho to discover what it meant to their grandfather.

5 Stars. I have been anxiously awaiting this book after reading the first in the series. Why? Because Shane Monroe jumped out of the pages in the first book and became my favourite hero. I’ll admit, I had high expectations for Shane’s story. And did the author do Shane justice? She did indeed! The author and Shane deserve a standing ovation! Melinda Curtis gave us the perfect hero. Shane’s tough exterior hides the ultimate gentleman inside, and this city boy is about to get a taste of cowboy ...more

I've been wanting to read Shane's book ever since I started this series! Someone can still read this book as a standalone but it's much more fun if you've read the previous books to see how far he's come! He's been a CEO of a Las Vegas business and suddenly he's in Second Chance, Idaho to work out the details of his grandpa's will. It's all been very challenging for him since the locals don't really like his "city ways". However, he's slowly been changing and gotten to kind of like this little ...more

Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher: A Clean Romance by Melinda Curtis is book 4 of The Mountain Monroes. This is Shane Monroe's story. It is fitting that Shane 's story is getting told as he has tried hard to honor his grandfather's wishes as well as to get the other grandchildren to do so. A split does not make you strong but it is interesting finding out about each one. Shane is the one who needs to be in charge as he is a fixer by nature. Fanny has a ranch outside of town and is having some ...more

Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher is the 4th in the series but can be read as a stand alone; however, I would suggest reading the previous books to better understand the development of the characters and story. This is Shane and Franny's story. Shane is trying save and revitalize the little town of Second Chance, Idaho that he and eleven other grandchildren inherited upon his grandfather's death. The problem is that the town isn't cooperating with his "big city" ideas and his frustration is taking ...more

Another of the Mountain Monroes; this time featuring Shane Monroe doing his best to revitalize Second Chance, ID, but he's just been fired from the City Council and no one likes his ideas. When Franny Clark needs help on her rodeo bull-breeding ranch, Shane isn't her first choice for help--she actually doesn't want to even ask!--since the last time he was on a horse, he was in college and that didn't go well, either. But, he's intent on keeping her safe and that huge feral bull he saw scares him ...more

This story centers around Franny Clark and Shane Monroe.
Franny, a widow with three boys, is trying to keep her rodeo stock ranch from going under.
Shane was the CEO of the Monroe holdings, until he was fired, per his grandfather’s will. He’s in town to babysit his cousin’s children while she is on her honeymoon. The same town that he is part owner. A town he wants to help to help prosper. But he only meets obstacles.
In the meantime, he also wants to help the very independent Franny and the woman

I really have enjoyed reading about the Monroe Family they are a fun bunch learning to live and grow with the new circumstances they have been handed. I have to say I was not much a fan of this couple. I loved the Clark children and Gertie they were so fun to read about. I loved Davey and how not matter what he "took the bull by the horns" and ran with it, he was a fighter and it was hard not to love him and his independent spirit. If you have been following the Monroe Family this book will ...more

OMG Melinda does it again. I love this series. Shane is a a former CEO, former because of his grandfather’s will. A few of the grandchildren stick it out in Second Chance. Shane has ideas on how to help the community. His grandfather lived here when he was younger. Later in life he bought the town. He left it to his grandchildren.

One of Shane’s cousins has just married a local and another is engaged to a local. Franny has had Shane’s eye. She is a single mom of three boys. Franny runs a ranch

“Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher" by Melinda Curtis is book 4 of The Mountain Monroes series and features Shane Monroe and Franny Clark.

While Sophie and Zeke (“Rescued by the Perfect Cowboy") are away on their honeymoon, Shane agrees to watch over Franny and her three boys. He doesn’t expect to help out at the ranch, hunt for gold, or fall in love.

Shane is in Second Chance, Idaho investigating some stolen treasure that his grandfather might have something to do with. Franny knows of the story but doesn't really believe its true but will let him search within reason.

This was a sweet little enjoyable book. I thought it was interesting seeing how everything played out. This book was pretty tame from what I normally read. ( I've been reading non stop action books and then pretty much went to this) but there was a few things here and there to

Each of the Munroe's has been unique but Shane has been by the farthest. He has wanted answer to certain things and in his own way he has found them along with love thru Franny Clark. Its a very interesting fourth book for we finally see our most stubborn Munroe meet his match. But we also start to see what Bo and Jonah Munroe are like. I love how Melinda writes this story. This is an ongoing series, so reading the earlier Mountain Monroe books will give better context of the whole story. Still it can be read as a stand alone. The story is intriguing enough with Shane, the self proclaimed leader of the Monroe clan in town, trying to help Franny. I was so glad it was Shane's turn as out of all the Monroes he really has tried the hardest to work with the Town and deserves to get his chance at love. He meets his match with Franny as she is stubborn and trying to look after the family ranch while also raising and looking after her family. There are tons of laughs, mysteries uncovered, more to learn about the town along with seeing more Monroe's as well as a crazy bull that that may help Franny keep the ranch or cause more pain for her and ...more

The Monroe saga continues with grandson CEO Shane Monroe as he meets Franny Clark who is left with a floundering rodeo ranch. He believes there is gold on her property as she is willing to let him search her property if he gives rodeo lessons. Did the city slicker meet his match in this country gal?

Once again the Monroes will put a smile on your face with their Happy ever After ending. A nice sweet read.

I loved this book! Another great Mountain Monroes book. I love the Monroe family. They are fun, but then again so much like a real family with strife included. I was glad Shane got his own story and found him someone to love. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked Shane, but with each previous book, I liked him more. I would highly recommend this book and the others in the series.
I was provided an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Book 4 in the series. This is Shane Monroe's story. I've been waiting for this one. I wasn't sure who would be a match for Shane. I wasn't sure Melinda Curtis hadn't lost her mind when she paired Shane with Franny. They're complete opposites, but every pot has a lid. They really are a perfect pair. I enjoyed reading another great book. Thank you Melinda Curtis, I look forward to our next rodeo.
