This is a good camping guide for the state & national parks in Michigan. The author is detailed in the campsite maps and information regarding reservations. I bought it for hiking purposes only and it does list hiking trails but again is mostly geared toward camping. If it is ever updated it would be helpful to have color photographs and it would be nice to have a pet-friendly parks section too.

This has been a good guide as we've been getting to know the area. It was here we got the idea to take our family to try some of the parks with teepee options. It gives a nice overview of the parks, I enjoyed some of the historical context and background to some of the parks.

This is a book I will recommend and lend to others new to the area.

This would have been a great book if there had been real color photographs and decent maps (for how to get there) for each park. If this book is supposed to inspire me to want to go to these parks, it failed miserably!

Parks flagged & pages highlighted. Ready to check off some more parks. Appreciate the campground descriptions, but wish site map of rustic campgrounds had been included.
