They say the dead don’t speak. That’s a lie. They speak to Kat Justice, but most of the time, she chooses not to hear them.

I’m a Nightwatch agent, a nightblood charged with enforcing the supernatural laws. Humans can’t know the shit that goes bump in the night is real. It’s sweaty, tough work, with crappy pay, but I love it.

Things would be perfect if not fo

If you are looking for a fun wholesome urban fantasy /YA then this is your series. It’s set for 16+ age groups and based in the Same world as the night watch academy. Kat Justice is like a paranormal nancy drew and she has a gang of her super natural buddies to help her. The characters are mid 20s .

It did not take me long to become completely engrossed in this new series starter. I am a fan of the author’s and this new one is her foray back into straight urban fantasy, and I’m so glad. I read RH, but straight up UF is my favorite. Anyway, back to this book. Kat is a Nightblood, but she’s a special case: not a pureblood. She must keep it a secret, however, as she’ll be killed if found out. Unfortunately, she may have to give up her secret at her new posting as there’s much more going on tha ...more

This is Debbie Cassidy's long awaited venture back into straight up Urban Fantasy and I must say it doesn’t disappoint. Set in the same world as her Shadow Weaver series this storey follows Indigo's Cousin Kat Justice with her small Gargoyle protector Triss ( who loves everything cock) and Bodyguard Henri.

The book has a really good storey line - different to most other UF stories and is very entertaining full of action, intrigue and mystery.

There are also some other wonderful charac

Set in the same world as her Shadow Weaver series, Ghost of a Chance features a cousin of the MC, Kat, who is harbouring a secret that could get her killed: she's a half breed and has no idea what the other half of her is. Sent to a rural outpost to work with a group of Night watch enforcers, she works out pretty early on that she's been sent here to hide, but unfortunately it won't be that easy.

I liked Kat well enough, although she's not my favourite of Debbie's MC (that spot is sti

A Ghost of a Chance is pure Urban Fantasy, offering an action packed adventure that edges the line between thriller and magical mystery.

Kat Justice, much like her cousin, Indigo at the Nightwatch Academy, is more than just a Justice... and far more than most people believe. Sent to a secluded Nightwatch stronghold by her powerful grandfather, Kat settles in with her assigned Golem, Henri, and her protective Gargoyle, Tris. Their mission? Discover who/what is killing the humans of thi

Debbie Cassidy knows how to create a story that captures your attention and does not let up.

Ghost of a Chance follows Kat Justice, who we may know as Indigo Justice's cousin from The Nightwatch Academy series. Which I love how this author connects her books in some way.

Kat is a funny and snarky character, just how i like them, that had me rolling from the start. She is such a bad a@@ girl that has a secret of her own. She is more than just a Nightwatch agent, and if that something m

I enjoyed the characters, I enjoyed the world and I enjoyed the plot of A GHOST OF A CHANCE.

The characters are my favorite part of this series so far. I want to know more about each and every one of them.

The plot was mysterious and full of suspense. Everything happened at a great pace. There is so much more we need to know about the world and the team, but I am interested in learning all the secrets there are to reveal.

I look forward to GIVE UP THE GHOST.

This series is set in the same world as the Nightwatch Academy series published by Ms. Cassidy previously this year. Though you don’t need to read that series first at all, I was glad I did because it helped lend a little more depth to the overall world. This is a fast-paced, shorter book that establishes several characters and the ongoing situation the heroine Kat and her friends are in, while also having a kind of case of the week feel, just like a TV show might do. I’ve heard that this partic ...more

Scorchwood is a big secret.
A town with too much supernatural activity is also kept hidden from everyone - even Kat had no idea prior to her arrival. Now, accompanied by her golem Henri and her gargoyle Tris, she recongizes the oddity in the presence of ghosts, the disappearances of humans, and the threat to her secrets. Hidden away by her grandfather, she is now trying the solve the mystery of the crimes in the town while keeping everyone safe and her secrets intact.

This was such a fun, engaging read that really captured my attention. I was thoroughly entertained all the way to the end. I liked that this book and main character has a connection to Debbie’s other series (Shadow Weaver). A first in this series, this is an UF book, not a RH. The main character, Kat is a nightblood working for the Night Watch. She has a secret that very few know about and she would like to keep it that way but with the new friends she has made, deaths and a mystery unraveling s ...more

Another fantastically written book, by author Debbie Cassidy. Kat Justice, yes as in those Justice's is a Nightwatch agent and nightblood who also happens to be the cousin of Indigo, but not everything about Kat is how it seems. Kat's grandfather sends her, her golem partner, Henri and gargoyle companion, Tris to the middle of nowhere, and a place that literally doesn't seem to show up on a map, in a transfer that doesn't entirely make sense to her.

It's another fun-filled adventure,

I cant seem to get enough of this author! i swear, she knows how to write awesome heroines with so much sarcasm its hilarious! The bickering, the heroism, and the "squad" of friends is the perfect blend for this series! non stop action, mystery and humor that has you hooked till the end. I felt some romance but could not decided on which sexy monster to put my finger on! i can only hope that its with my favorite guy so far from the

From the very first page this book had me immersed in the story. The character development was fantastic and I can’t wait to learn more of this new Nightwatch team. Kat was great because I love strong, snarky female leads. The story was full of intense mystery that keeps you on the edge of your chair, humor and action packed fighting. If you like urban fantasy books with a slow burn, this one is for you. I enjoyed reading it immensely.

I love the Nightwatch Academy books so I was excited to read this spin-off book. Kat Justice may be a Nightblood, but she's so much more than that, a secret that only a few people know. At the behest of her grandfather, Kat, Henri and Tris head to Ravensheart prison, where she meets a host of interesting people at this secret and secluded prison. I loved this book and the new characters. Kat is a strong and snarky female character, which is great. The other characters add interesting layers to a ...more

This was such a breath of fresh air in my reading library from what I have read in the past year. It stands out as being different, unique, and still entertaining. I loved the characters and the plot. The world build was pretty cool and I am interested in how deeper the author can go with an explanation of the world and all the people and different classes that inhabit it. Between this title and the shadow caster series, I'm sure I'll get my fill. I was truly hooked from start to finish and cann ...more

5+*  Another winning and wonderful UF that will thrill and entertain UF Readers.  This well-written storyline has secrets, betrayal, deception, new alliances and friends as well as all sorts of Paranormal situations and characters.   The main characters are developed, engaging, likable with a touch of snark, kickass, and have their own unique powers and personalities.   I LOVED IT!  I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

So far this author has not written anything I didn’t like so I eagerly waited to read this and OMG it is just awesome! With a blurb saying “ A kick ass Urban Fantasy Adventure filled with fey, demons, vampires, gargoyles and golems“ I could not wait to get stuck in and I have to say I could not put this down! It’s well written and fast paced with twists and turns and full of secrets, mystery and suspense and great characters with a fab kick ass heroine and I cannot wait to read the next book!

This first in series spin off from the NightWatch series did not dissapoint. Kat Justice and her gaggle of creatures take us on a thrilling adventure. This can be read as a stand aone but I guarantee once you read it you will want to read more about this world. As always this authors writing is descriptive so you can visualize everything taking place. This story grabbed me from the start and I can't wait for the next book

Love this book. 1st book from Debbie and I’m going to my kindle app to get some more books from her. Now to wait till November 19th for the 2nd book “give up the ghost”. Because I really need to know what happens with Kat and henri.

I don’t do spoilers, all I can say is if you love urban fantasy type books. You really need to get this book.

Awesome new story for Debbie Cassidy!!!

This was an awesome start to a new series that is based in a similar world as one of Debbie Cassidy’s RH genre series. The main character was sarcastic and liked to kick butt, definitely had reasons for her trust issues, and has some serious powers. I loved her gargoyle and her golem. Can’t wait to read more!!

Another amazing book from Debbie Cassidy a long with another bad a** Justice woman. Kat Justice is a strong female lead just like her cousin Indigo Justice from the NightWatch Academy series! The book is set in the same world as Shadow Caster and the new characters are just as lovable as the other characters that Debbie has brought us. A must read book!

This is one of those books you just read through. It was very interesting to see the world beyond the Nightwatch Academy as well as Indigo’s cousin Kat. Her ability to see ghosts is unusual and is a talent she keeps hidden. The interaction between Kat, Tris and Henri was solid and entertaining at times. I can’t wait to see what will occur in the next book

Ahh I absolutely LOVE Kat! She is seriously so awesome!
Ghost of a chance is a UF that is fast paced, full of suspense and will leave you absolutely craving more!
You do not have to have read the Nightwatch Academy to understand this book but it would help you understand the world if you had.
This will not be an RH but a true UF series
You will seriously LOVE THIS and not be disappointed!

The first book in this new series set in an interesting world where there's your usual supernaturals by different names.
I definitely felt the spookyness as I was reading this with the ghostly action and I'm really interested to see where the story goes after this.
