'If you would just put your future in God's hands, you'd find out exactly what God has in store for us.'

This was my first book by Laura Scott to read. It was seriously good and full of suspense. A great hero, a plot overflowing with intrigue, and good secondary characters all make for a great read. This was so suspenseful that I was nearly going crazy trying to figure out what would happen next and just who the villains were! Recommended.

*My thanks to Harlequin Publishing for a copy of this book

"Soldier's Christmas Secrets" is a Christian suspense novel. Hawk has fairly permanent amnesia after surviving a crash, but he knows that someone is after him because of an illegal gun deal that he witnessed. He can't remember who was involved and who to trust. After years of trying to regain his memory and track down the truth, his wife is attacked and he saves her life. She didn't know that he survived, so his appearance comes as a shock. She's busy taking care of their young daughter, so she ...more

Heat Factor: Extremely chaste
Character Chemistry: In a “we’re already married” forced proximity kind of way?
Plot: Former soldier has to figure out who’s trying to kill him and his family
Overall: Not many highs but also not many lows

This was an uncharacteristically - shall we say wholesome? - read for me. It is “Love Inspired” from Harlequin, after all. I once read a blog post somewhere discussing how the author only read “clean” romance. I had previously interpreted this to mean sexless, but the

Goodness! What an awesome book from new to me author Laura Scott!
Oh my! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! Such a great plot and the characters!
I can't imagine doing what this soldier did! Imagine going away and then coming home only to find that you aren't the same as when you left. Just wow!
The author has done a great job in keeping her readers in suspense and certainly full of surprises!
I usually don't like surprises but this one took the cake so to speak!
I will be looking for more

I tried. I really did. I love suspense romances and I don’t mind so mind “clean” romances, but I do have a problem with author’s shoving their religious beliefs down our throats.
That being said, the romance & plot was disappointing and boring. Hero survived a plane crash and lost his memory. He has been living next door to heroine whom he is married to and she doesn’t recognize him (scars and all)? Then there is the logic of trying to find who & why which made no sense. Gave up at 70%.

This was a very very good story! If you enjoy LoveInspired Suspense, I can basically guarantee that you will love this book. It was a wonderful second chance romance in unusual circumstances, and the pace kept my heart racing.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Soldier's Christmas Secrets. This is the first book in the Justice Seekers Series. Laura's books are always awesome so I know you are going to love this one. The story is well written, action packed, and full of faith.

Private Detective Hawk Jacobsen was injured when his plane crashed in the mountains. His crew was dead and if not for a couple helping him he would have died also. Hawk's face was badly damaged he had amnesia, all he could remember

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This was a book that starts the intrigue right from the beginning and drew me in. Hawk comes home just in time to save his next door neighbor, Jillian and her daughter Lizzy, from two intruders. Come to find out Hawk is really James Wade, Jillian's deceased husband. How could this be? He has been dead for 5 years? The day she discovered that she is pregnant, is the day she also is told

Things I love to read about...military romance. Holiday love stories. Second-chance at love. This being my first time reading Laura Scott I didn't know quite to expect. Here is your warning, there is prayer. There are references to God. It isn't a lot and, for me, I think it added to the severity of the situation that was unfolding.

I liked Hawk. How even with his distorted memory and the gaps in this story he had this innate ability to sniff out danger. To want to protect Jillian and Lizzy. I

SOLDIER'S CHRISTMAS SECRETS is a fast-paced inspired romantic suspense. The book begins with a bang; Hawk is coming into Jillian's house late at night to get her and her daughter out, as trained men infiltrate. The pacing stays fast as they go on the run to avoid the men out for them plus uncover the plot against them.

With holes in Hawk's memory from after the accident, it takes a lot of work plus aid from the Callahans to piece everything together. Jillian has a lot of trust in God, and she

Soldier’s Christmas Secret by Laura Scott is part of the Justice Seekers series. This is a very good series however this book can be read alone. The title doesn’t match the book as well as the cover. The cover is perfect for the story with the addition of the teddy bear.

Hawk was the sole survivor of a military helicopter crash where he lost his team. He still has some lingering amnesia but is convinced that they were sabotaged. He has been researching to find out who was behind it. Everyone

Soldier's Christmas Secret is a romantic suspense about a soldier suffering from amnesia. He has to live a life that he doesn't fully know. As time passes, he begins to remember more and remembers some important things. Danger is following him and vows to protect the ones he loves.

The story jumped right into it. We meet Hawk and see him as he begins to regain some memories. He has a wife named Jillian and she still believes that he is dead. When danger is close to home, Hawk reveals who he is

Wow, this was a thought provoking and good book. Hawk isn't the man his wife remembers him to be because, well, he doesn't remember that man. I cannot imagine how horrible and scary that must be to wake up and not remember anything. Jillian's dedication to her husband, even when isn't the man she remembers was touching.

There are some really tense moments and I loved seeing characters from previous books. Their daughter is precious and it was sweet watching the father/daughter bond happen. The

Soldier’s Christmas Secret by Laura Scott is the first novel in her Justice Seekers series. The book begins right in the action, you simply can’t put it down. Special Ops Agent Hawk Jacobson comes home for the evening just in time to save his next door neighbor, Jillian and her daughter Lizzy, from two intruders.

Jillian believes her husband died in Afghanistan a few years ago. However, Hawk was the sole survivor from his military team’s helicopter crash. Hawk's memory from the whole ordeal is

Oh my goodness, what a story! Laura Scott has given me a read that provides an intriguing plot that didn't slow down from start to finish. The story is filled with suspense. The characters were well developed and I quickly came to care what was happening and had already been done to them. Hawk is the strong lead that is magnetic as he has undergone an unimaginable yet believable series of events. Jillian has had heartbreak yet moved forward with life to emerge as a strong independent woman. They ...more
I won a copy of this book from the author, I was not required to give a favorable review. This was a great story about love, reunion, bad guys and good guys. Hawk was ex military special forces but when he and his team came home there was a plane crash and all but him were dead. But because of his injuries he also lost a lot of his memory, but since getting some of it back he is trying to find out who killed his team. But first he finds his wife and the little girl he knows nothing about but he ...more
Overall, I liked the book but there were some things that bothered me. One of them was the mention of praying/God at least twice in every single chapter. Idk, I could be exaggerating but it was mentioned more times than I can count. I'm totally okay with the mention of that since I'm a Catholic but it was too overdone to the point that it got annoying. Besides that, the story was interesting but I do wish there was a bit more to the ending because Hawk and Jillian's relationship/reunion seemed ...more

Who and what is Hawk Jacobson? Who are Jillian and Lizza? What does Hawk do for a living? How does he know the ladies? Who is or was James Wade? I like Mike Callahan and how he takes things in stride. What is Maxwell, Inc? My head was spinning crazily by the end of this story. Who was behind everything that was going on? You're going to have to read to find out.

To be honest I found the whole amnesia thing a bit confusing at first but then I was able to get past that and really enjoy the book I found it hard to put the book down. I loved that there was so much going on, twists and turns. There was clearly someone trying to stop Jillian and Hawk from getting farther into what they are trying to keep hidden and I know I'm being vague af but its a mystery suspense novel and I don't want to give anything away. Trust me there is so much to enjoy about this ...more

An inspirational romantic suspense to heal the hurts. Hawk is hiding many secrets. He has partial amnesia from an injury but still remains true to his core values. Jillian is living as a single mother and widow. When evil comes to her door Hawk saves them and her world is forever changed. The story is about faith, friendship and love. What you have to hold on to in the worst of times is sometimes the only things that will see you through to the other side.
