Bad guys like me? We crave violence, danger, and someone warm in our beds.
Someone like her? She is beautiful and surprisingly strong.
But saving her was a mistake for both of us. It would have been easier if I'd let my MC kill her when they were getting revenge on her uncle.
Now it's too late.
I don't want sympathy or forgiveness.
I just want her.
Blow Out, a motorcycle romance set in the Steel Veins Motorcycle Club, is filled with heat, nail-biting violence, and heart-racing adventure. Blow Out has been reedited, packaged, and is complete with NEW material.
Jackson brings a unique writing style forged from countless harrowing adventures.
He’s a lover of travel, his fans, his romance author peers, dulce de leche, and all things beautifully weird and interesting. He invites you to relax, have a whiskey sour and let him thrill and excite you in a way no other author can.
Jackson will show you what the world looks like through the eyes of a genuine Bad Boy. Come with him, and read dangerously.
This is a MC book at its finest. It definitely isn’t for the faint of heart because this author knows how to bring the down and dirty and throw it right in your face. Remy was every bit the bad*ss biker and always seemed to be walking on the dark side. A shakedown was how Remy met Star and that’s when Star’s life took a huge turn that was always in the dreams she had. She was the girl with the glasses who never really stood out. Because of what happened at the shakedown you would think this girl would have just turned over and welcomed her demise but it was Remy would felt this connection with her. There was something that drew Star to Remy as well even though his was the MC that changed her life forever.
I don’t want to give anything away so I will say that this is one of the better MC books I’ve ever read. I have fallen in love with this author and his style of writing because he seemed to put me right in this story of Remy and Star. About the time you didn’t think things couldn’t get much worse he just notched it up even more with the cruel dark world of an MC and a woman who would do just about anything for this man with still making her such a strong person.
I would highly recommend this book and I’m really looking forward to what he has in store next for the Steel Veins MC.
What I liked - Nothing because I can't get past the horrible stuff to like anything.
What I didn't like - There was a very graphic sex scene between Remy and some whore that Star ended up seeing. It was heartbreaking and disgusting. Outside the relationship sex doesn't belong at all in romance books. It was even worse here because it was graphic, after the two main characters met, and the poor thing witnessed! What in the holy ****? I am seriously upset. Put some warnings on these books so people who can't take this kind of stuff can pass it for something that isn't awful. I cannot stress how upset and mad I am over this. Ugh. I really liked Star, too. But I can't finish a book like this. Nothing this guy does later can make up for him doing this. Nothing. The book is ruined.
I received an advanced copy of this book and have opted to provide this honest review.
I typically really like MC romance and they are usually filled with alpha men and damsels in distress. This book was no different in that, except the heroine, Star, wasn't your typical DID. The story was laid out nicely and the flow was great. Plenty of action, lots of steam, and just enough heart without being campy.
College scandal with a professor, sends Star💃💋 out west to stay at a remote ⛽gas station in Oklahoma with her Aunt👵 and Uncle👴.
Fate changes everything! Well maybe not fate, cause her Uncle👴 took a loan from a biker gang called Steel Veins MC and couldn't repay. The gang arrives in mass, to collect. These are some very bad dudes. They are all armed🔪🔫 and everything goes horribly wrong. Aunt👵 and Uncle 👴are killed, and the station ⛽is burned🔥.
Star💃💋 sees one man who holds her gaze, Remy🐺🍆🌋👋🔫🔪. He's a tall, ripped💪, and brutally handsome man, and he must feel sorry for her or else its naaasssty baaaad boy desire, cause he saves her from a biker ga#g ba#g🍆🌋 by claiming her as his.
Remy's brother, Top👹🔫🔪, also the club President, wants Star💃💋 killed because a guy hiding at the ⛽gas station shot and killed their younger brother Bren, and Top👹🔫🔪 figures he was her boyfriend. He was just an acquaintance. Star💋💃 is also the only witness to the murders🔫.
Remy🐺🍆🌋👋🔫🔪 steals Star💃💋 away, and takes her back to their clubhouse. She reminds him of his late wife, and she's a feisty little thing. Star💃💋 is overwhelmed by Remy🐺🍆🌋👋🔫🔪, he really is a bad boy. He's a killer💀, he's violent, and Rough Sex is his middle name! Star💃💋 wants some of that, no matter how bad it hurts👋👋! OUCH!
YEHAW! Ride Em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Loved this book! It's violent, crude, rude, and just plain naaasssty! Only a male author who has been there, done that, can express the dirty, lewd, violent viciousness of life in a true motorcycle gang. Jackson Kane is that author!
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got this book📑 with KU.
Normally I don't read MC books because I had some involvement with a branch of the Hell's Angels💀 many years ago, and that lifestyle definitely wasn't for me! The people I knew may not have killed anybody, but the drugs, the drinking, the filth, the rudeness, the fighting, all that is pretty accurate.......
Please read this review through. I know at first it will sound a little negative but truly it is not. There are somethings I look for in a MC book. There are certain things I love. When I start reading this book I was not getting those things. There were points I was about to throw up my hands and say screw it and stop reading because I was so disappointed I was not seeing certain things in this story that I love about MC books but then a would get to a steamy part and have to keep reading.
I guess it was about 60-70% in the book I started seeing why the author decided to write this book the way she did. It appeared to me the author was building a foundation for the future books to come in this series.
By the end of the book I got what I like to see in a MC book. There were may stumbling blocks, heartaches, and sorrow that Remy and even Star will have to get through to get them where they needed to be. I believe each try and tribulation these two went through made them stronger.
I truly hurt for Remy. He already had so much anger and hurt but in this story we get to see that more destruction is headed his way. At some point you wonder how much more can he take. Now I truly loved his character from the get go. We do not know much about his brother Bren since Bren died so soon in the story but we do know he is a better man then his brother Top.
Underneath that hard shell of Remy was a man that wanted to change. He hated the road the MC was on and wanted to see it back to the way it use to be. He saw something in Star and found her worthy of saving. This will cost him so much.
To be honest at first I did not like Star. There was just something about her character I first did not connect with but as I read I got to see her grow and blossom. By the middle of the book I had started to love her. I loved how strong she became. She had this hidden strength that she did not know she had. She was tired of being walked on and tired of shying in the corner. She was ready to fight for herself and fight for Remy.
Like I said earlier while reading this story remember this is the foundation being built for the upcoming books. I am truly happy I read the book to the end. Now I want to read other books in the series.

Star Keller is living with her aunt and uncle in the middle of nowhere after an event back home left her needing to get away. Yet soon she finds herself witnessing a crime and now a prisoner of an MC group and she is certain some of them want to kill her the moment they can. Remy Daniels is the VP of Steel Veins M.C. but when his younger brother is killed he wonders if he still has it in him to continue on. Yet leaving is a dangerous choice when there are so many rival groups ready to kill at the drop of a hat and loyalty means everything. Can Remy protect Star when some the threats are from his own club? How far will Remy go to protect what he believes is right and can he save his club from the poison within? This was a great book with so many things going on yet it wasn’t overwhelming and it kept me flipping the pages to find out what was going to happen next. My heart broke for Star for getting mixed up in everything as it was clear that she really had no idea what was happening at the beginning of the book and was somewhere that she really had no one. I hated how they all thought she was with Todd as it put her in such a bad position but I was super happy that Remy saved her. I was definitely worried about her though when she got to the clubhouse as I wondered if Remy was going to be able to save her. Remy Daniels was already contemplating how his MC has going downhill and out of control when his brother is killed. When he takes Star to prevent her death he wonders what will happen to her and soon discovers that the rest of the MC wants to take their anger out on her. Remy has to make a drastic choice and I was definitely surprised at what he did. There was so much action in the book and I found there were definitely different levels of loyalty which I found really interesting. I’ve read MC books before and it is the club first but in this one it almost goes above club yet in a different way. Loyalty was to the club but they had no trouble taking one another out if they betrayed the club and even though the club was no longer the same kind of club as when they joined. I found that part super interesting. Remy was definitely tough and was so protective over Star and at one point my jaw hit the ground when I read what he did to protect her. I think I screamed no as loud as Star! I loved the strength that she found within herself to keep fighting for herself and for Remy and I was super proud of what she accomplished! I thought the jobs were hilarious and what ended up happening on the same day. There was a scene towards the end of the book that completely broke my heart for Remy and I was freaking out for what he wanted to do. There was such a change in him from the beginning of the book to the end and it really broke my heart and made me sad for what it would do to Star. The end had some more sad parts but also some happy parts and I really hope that the club is able to reform and we can learn more about it in future books!! The very end had me doing a happy dance and I can’t wait for more! By Rebecca
Star would never have imagined herself in this dark life Not that she was a good little girl. She wasn't but what she saw and found herself living would never have even been in her dreams or even her nightmares. She had a choice of dying or going with the dark gorgeous biker who'd just committed the worst in front of her.
Remy didn't know why he did it. He should have just taken her out. She was a witness. The Steel Veins didn't leave witnesses. At least not anymore. It ws the same question he couldn't answer the next time she was in danger. Why he stepped in. She brought something back into his life.
Time in the MC was scarey, dangerous, and she couldn't trust anyone but herself. She learned to stand up for her and trust no one. Every time she began to trust it was ripped away. She saw things she couldn't even imagine. Only one person seemed to always be there for her. Yet he scared her maybe more than any of them He had the capacity to hurt her more than any of them.
This is a dark story of dangerous sometimes evil men living by their own laws. Anyone who interfered was irrelevant and could and probably would be eliminated. Remy is a man hard to care about but even more difficult to hate. While he didn't like the way his club had moved he hadn't stopped it. Would Star's bright light open his eyes to these changes?
Star changed from a shy young woman to a woman of strength. The life she found herself living was both frightening and exciting. Would she make it though?
The two find a new life together. To save their lives they take chances and devise plans that work sometimes and bite them other times. Will they make it and if they do, can they have a better life and a life together.
Two strong people who take desperate chances while it is dark the light seems to come through as they work together to live.
Jackson Kane gives us a truly wonderful MC Romance with his recently remastered book, Blow Out. If you aren't sure if you'll like a MC Romance and want to try one out, then this is the perfect story for you to whet your appetite with! This story is heavy on the action, adventure and sexy times while still being semi-light in the MC hierarchy and politics. Blow Out focuses mostly on the two main characters, Star & Remy, and really hones in on them as characters. Yes, you have secondary characters in the story, however Kane does such a masterful job of building the main couple up that this is the perfect intro into the Steel Veins world.
Aside from the storyline, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I loved Kane's writing style. He has a very beautiful and eloquent way of narrating a story. I found myself highlighting passage after passage just so I could remember all of the things that really struck a chord with me. I was pleasantly surprised to find such complex characters and such a stunning writing style in what I assumed would be a simple MC story. I'm absolutely adding Kane to my list of author's to follow and I look forward to Steel Veins #2, Burn Up!
I've read other MC romance novels so I knew what to expect. This book, however did nothing for me. And to top it off its a cliffhanger. I hate those types of stories! It's also pretty gruesome .I didn't care for that in a romance book, maybe it's because a man wrote it, but I don't think most women want to hear about someone's eye being pushed back into his scull?
Publisher's overview: Meet Remy, the antihero who will do anything to keep his woman, even if that means burning his whole life to the ground. Raw and hard, Blow Out's characters are flawed and damaged. Need a dangerous, sexy edge? Dive into Remy's brutal MC world. Those who are brave enough to read till the end will be treated to a redemption love story for the ages.
This was the first book I've read from this author. It was full of suspense and kept you On your toes each page. I recommend it to all MC lovers out there.
I wasn’t looking for a book when I came across this one. I started reading and the story just sucked me in. The main characters have this strange chemistry. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the author was male.
The story telling in this book was well done and I liked the way it was written, however, it really took a long, long time for me to read. I just did not feel compelled to get back to it to find out what was going to happen next. Neither character was particularly likeable at times which is to be expected in an MC book but I never connected with them as a believable power couple. The events, as they unfolded, was also unbelievable, especially the ending.
Okay, this book is GRITTY. Graphic, angry, no boundaries, no limits. If you are sensitive, this is not your book.
But if you're looking for a motorcycle club romance unlike any you've read, you've found it here.
Star and Remy's initial meeting was under extremely unusual circumstances, and their relationship developed and evolved under much of the same. I'm sure many reviews call this book a "wild ride," and that's exactly what it is with gun fights, a strip club, a drug lab, and a guy and a girl who somehow find and save each other in more ways than one.
Wow. I've never been the biggest fan of MC books. But this one is so well-written and I love Mr. Kane's work so much that those take precedence over all. Blow Out starts out on an ordinary day, at a seemingly ordinary gas station, where Star is trying to study but her aunt and uncle keep interrupting her with meaningless busy work. Then a man Star dated once shows up, thinking she will go out with him again but Star isn't interested. Then some members of the Steel Veins motorcycle club show up and all hell breaks loose. I won't put spoilers in my review so if you wanna find out what happens, pick up a copy of Blow Out today. This is a very marked departure from Mr. Kane's previous usual fare but just so awesome, as I find all of his work to be. If you're a fan of MC romances, this one is one to be sure not to miss. You're in for a wild ride with the Steel Veins.
I like MC stories but this one for some reason did not appeal to me. From the beginning the writing style was an issue with me. Also the relationship between Star and Remy. The way it was described just didn't do it for me. Somehow naive, too simplistic, I can't put my finger on something specific but I just did not like it. I don't want to judge the author based on one book but I'm not keen for the time being on reading other books. Sorry did not enjoy it
This is a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more from him!! The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing and captivating. This is how I like my MC books, raw and gritty. Remy is just so alpha maleand rough around the edges he shouldn’t work with Star but they just do. I love how their relationship develops and they kept me glued to my kindle wanting to know which way it turned out. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series!!!
Amazing. Jacksons twist on this MC is just amazing. The story of Remy and Star is one that I will forever hold with me. The love. The pain. The struggle. Wow. It was amazing and kept me up all night making sure that I embraced every single word. Remy and Star has to be one of my favorite couples! It had the Jackson flare on it. So full of action. I can not wait to see what else Jackson has coming next.
This book is amazing, I am a fan of MC romance books and this one does not disappoint. A very well written and engaging book that pulls you in from the first sentence, and takes you on an exciting ride from start to finish. I loved everything about this story, it was captivating, intriguing, sexy as hell, and complex. The characters are flawed, tough, strong and fiercely loyal. Want your next book addiction, then pick Blow Out up today, you won't be disappointed!!!
This is the 1st book in a new MC series from this talented author, and what a fantastic introduction this story is!! A series of events lead to Star being kidnapped by the most dangerous of bikers. This is a well written flawless story which is intense, thrilling, raw, gritty, dark, and a suspenseful read, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more in this series. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all MC lovers.
I thought Blow out was a really good book that just drew me in from start to finish and just stole the show for me . This would be the first book that I've read by Jackson Kane and I can't wait to read more by him the future . This was a really interesting story that made me feel many emotions for them and mostly just fall for them and want them to find a happy ending . I can't wait to read more by the author in the future and more in the steel Veins series .
This book leaves you hanging on wtf is going to happen next. Star is a tough cookie that does what she has to try to come above and to show Remy that she is valuable to stick right by his side and to fight with him!
This was the best ending to an awesome series! I can not wait for the next. I am totally #teamStar! Star shined so bright and the love that is shared between her and Remy is just off the charts!
Jackson Kane's Break Hard wasn't quite what I was expecting. In fact, it surpassed any expectations I had. I've read a couple of other MC series and really enjoyed them. What really took me by surprise was Kane's characters. They are beautifully complex and flawed. Both Star and Remy are damaged, but not broken, and that's a very important distinction.
When we first met Star, I was prepared to not like her. I was expecting a naive, spoiled college kid, in the wrong place at the wrong time. She's just a set piece for the big, bad biker with a heart of gold to save. I've never been so glad to be wrong! Instead of just letting life happen to her, she digs deep to find the person she was meant to be. And once she found her, instead of doing what so many do, she embraced that side of herself. She understood she was doing what she needed to survive, but at the same time, discovered how to thrive in the new world she found herself in. She didn't just thrive, she took the whole thing by storm. I love that Kane was brave enough to create a character that was self-aware and complex.
Remy, or Poet, is also more than the aforementioned big, bad biker with a heart of gold. He's made a life using the hand he was dealt, even if it was a crappy hand. Remy made choices and then lived with the consequences. He tried to do the right thing but soon discovered that wasn't him. Once he accepted he couldn't be who he thought he should be, he ended up better than he ever imagined.
Kane provides complex situations where the right answer isn't always obvious. How different would be the outcomes if Remy's brother, Top, had made a different choice and not forced Remy's hand? We'll never know, but somehow, I think I like where Kane took both Star and Remy.
