Waiting for one's fiancé to set a date is never fun. Especially when it has now officially been years. Particularly when one is a veritable wallflower with little chance of anything better coming along. More so when said fiancé's brother is paying particular attention to one's life and causing all sorts of confusing emotions.

This was an entertaining read. Augusta has supportive friends in Chloe and Joanna and they were determined to help her change her ways in order to encourage her fiancé, Henry to come home and set the date for their wedding. This brings her to the attention of Miles, Henry’s brother, who has always like Augusta. What will happen when Henry comes home? Will Augusta find the courage to do what she wants? There is also another man who wishes to know Augusta better and doesn’t like to be thwarted. I ...more

Enjoyed the story, it is well written and entertaining. The story revolves around Augusta (Gus) and the fact she has waited over two years for Henry to return from his grand tour to set a wedding date. Unexpected love happens and surprises await. There is a degree of danger surrounding the characters but all works out for the best. There is a HEA for all involved. This is a clean romance and I would highly recommend this book as a great read.

BEAUTIFUL COVER. I ONLY LAMENT THAT THIS WAS A CLEAN ROMANCE.

HERO has been in love with Augusta all his life ever since he saved her from drowning. After his father's death, he assumed the role of a Lord and became too tangled up with cleaning up loose ends, trying to become a better nobleman and older brother. In his past he mingled with unsavoury characters although there wasn't much information or detailing about his past life which is a shame cause it would have developed the story better an

I really enjoyed this book!

At first, I was a little impatient with Augusta (Gus) because she did not have much of a backbone and seemed to be too easily cowed by convention and duty. But then I remembered that during that time period young women were not expected to think for themselves and in fact, their first and foremost obligation was to their families and to fulfill their duty to that family.

Miles was a true gentleman of that era, honoring the engagement of his brother Henry to Gus (even

All Miss Augusta Snow wants is for Henry to return home and set the date. But it seems she’s attracted the wrong brother’s attention.
The brooding Miles Stanton, Viscount Ashwick has always been quietly fascinating to her.
He only intended to protect his brother’s interests.
Miles always had a soft spot for Gus. However, everyone knew she was meant for his brother and all he wants is for her to be happy all the while ignoring his feelings for her.

Both Miles and Augusta grew up caring a great deal

MARRIED TO THE LORD is the second book in the Wallflower Brides series. Each will stand on its own, but I highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release.

I loved reading this story. I would say it was a slow down and relax type of story, but I still read it in a day.

I loved the way that Miles was always on hand to rescue Augusta “Gus.” It was sweet, heroic, and perfect. He saw himself as flawed and his past as an irrevocable barrier, but she found her Prince Charming. As I’ve alway

Simple, sweet story

Overall, the book was not bad. With the way Augusta and Henry's proposal came about, I can't imagine how the female didn't really have a say once the proposal is accepted. Augusta has been waiting for a couple of years for Henry to return home and make good on his promise to marry her. She is tired of being a wallflower and decides to do something about it. With the changes she makes, she ends up drawing the wrong kind of attention. One of the people she attracted is Henry's b

I enjoyed Augusta and Mile's romance. There is plenty of emotion as the storyline unfolds. I liked both of these characters and I thought it was easy to feel their draw of attraction and sparks of chemistry. I felt that Augusta's frustration was easy to understand and her plan of action seemed very realistic. I felt for Mile's. He was a genuine good guy, that just wanted what he thought was best for everyone even if it cost him in the process. The story was entertaining and held my attention wel ...more

Augusta has been waiting for her fiancé Harry to come home for two years. Tired of waiting she has decided to make Harry jealous and come home. When Harry’s older brother starts spending time with her to make sure she doesn’t end the engagement, sparks fly between them. Miles doesn’t fee he deserves her. Will her engagement survive? Fast-paced historical read with lots of drama and suspense. I liked the characters and the story held my interest throughout. A good read.

This is a sweet easy read for an afternoon sitting on the back deck enjoying the sun. Mile's and Gus's story involves a missing fiance, nasty villains and finally a happily ever after. Gus's journey to find a backbone was slow and at times painful but given the time in history was all the more impressive for having done it. Henry left the country two years ago after proposing, and before setting a wedding date. Miles her fiancé’s older brother has noticed Augusta’s impatience and takes an interest in looking out for her. I enjoyed the sweet romance about being brave

Book two in the series and I really enjoyed it, it had an interesting plot and great characters. I loved the setting, I enjoyed it starting on from the end of book one and especially seeing Gus standing up for herself. Miles and Gus were so good together and it was their relationship which kept me turning the pages.

Augusta and Miles’ love story is very enjoyable. Augusta is engaged to Miles’ brother Henry, who has been away for 2 years. Gus is getting tired of waiting for Henry, and she started (always) having feelings for Miles. Miles wants what is best for Gus, he thinks Henry is best for her, but he can not help his feelings he has always had for Gus. I fell in love with both of these characters.
I always enjoy a Samantha Holt Book!!!

Augusta and Miles ‘ story is little different from a classic historical romance. Nevertheless, it is funny, engaging, and very sweet. It contemplates the nature of the wallflower, friendship and brotherly love. I enjoyed this book! Ms Holt definitely does not disappoint. Recommended.

If you are looking for a relaxing weekend read this is it. There is just enough chemistry between the characters to keep the story interesting. There could have been more interaction between Augusta and Miles instead of hinting at past history. But overall it was a good book.

Samantha Holt resides in Warwickshire, England, with her twin girls, having followed her soldier husband around the UK for nearly 10 years. Growing up in Hampshire, she was inspired by the authors Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell, both of whom lived and wrote only miles from her home town.

Samantha loves the romance genre and has been devouring romantic literature for as long as she can remember.
