Book 1 out of 3 trilogy
What an incredible surprise! I was surfing on kindle and looking at high rating Menages. Found this one and decided to give a go. Best decision ever! I never read this author and most probably because she is mainly an MM author. I am always reticent to read MMF Menages from a MM author. Reason is that most of them favor the MM relationship and the woman is often a prop or a tool but not equal in the relationship. That upset me enough to avoid reading most MMF although when well written, I adore them.
This story took me per surprise. First present tense is not what I favor. But it was multiple heroes present first tense and somehow after a few chapters, it didn’t bother me anymore.
The plot is totally new and very refreshing. It is as if we read a live journal or diary. As if it is a TV reality, as if as a reader we are the drone following them, hearing their thoughts. How the twosome became a threesome was a bit over the top romanced and not very realistic but the concept and story was very original.
I liked the heroes very much. I understand their struggles. The full day to day pregnancy details was interesting, intriguing but at the end of the book a bit redundant. I found that sometimes it was a repeating chapter and should have been cut at editing.
However, although I am generally not a fan of HFN story, that is a one I will definitely read till the end. The good part is the author decided to publish her trilogy one month apart which allows me to keep fresh in my head this story, who is who, plot etc

I've waited a very long time for a new Zoey Derrick book or series and THIS was well worth the wait! It was exciting to be able to delve more into the lives of Ash, Caden and Beck but also to explore His Royal Hotness and Mr. Magnificent. I wasn't expecting the roller coaster of emotions to hit me, but what Ash/River is going through is extraordinary. And even though you know that it's for such a selfless reason, it's still hard to imagine dealing with the same thing. I'm so very excited for the next book in the series, because the ending left me gasping and crying. Kudos, Zoey!

It’s been a while since I read anything by this author so I was super excited to read her new series. I wasn’t disappointed.
This is book one of The Serendipity Trilogy. We get to read of characters we’ve met before and also get some new characters. The chemistry is so hot.
If you like MMF then you’ll love this story. The characters are likeable and I loved the storyline.
Zoey Derrick is back and this book was so worth waiting for. Thankfully after that ending book two is waiting for me to jump into.

Finally a new Zoey Derrick book to get stuck into! Well that's what I had hoped for when I got my hands on this book, normally with this authors work once I start I can't stop, sadly that wasn't this case with this story. The first in the Serendipity Trilogy, this is Ash/Rivers book. Now having met Ash in Aryn and Caden’s books I was looking forward to seeing where life took her. We know from the end of Caden’s book that she has agreed to surrogate for them. I was always a little apprehensive about who Ash would end up with, I loved Caden and Aryn as a couple but did I want to see them become a threesome? simple...no I didn’t so I was happy that didn’t happen. What I really wanted was for Ash to find her forever love, someone that was solely hers, that would love her and only her, because she deserved it. Obviously the blurb to this book lets you know that’s not the case. Now don’t get me wrong, normally I have no problem with a three-way relationship, I certainly enjoyed reading Addison, Talon and Kyle’s story, but they were together from the start, I think that’s why I couldn’t get on board with this relationship. This book is written really well and the emotion, passion and hot as hades sex scenes that Zoey is known for are ever present, but I struggled to connect with Keenan and Bodie when they were with Ash. The initial scenes with Keenan and Bodie together as a couple were hot and had me reminiscing about Defining Us, and I think that’s possibly where my problems lay, I didn’t understand why they felt the need to bring a third person into their life. I know we were told why but I didn’t feel it. I was also confused about their relationship prior to Ash. Were they married? They share the same surname, but their relationship has never been confirmed nor denied, 🤷♀️ All of that aside, the reason for my 3/4 star rating is that the book was written really well, even if I didn’t get lost in this world, that just means it wasn’t for me!

I am so completely happy that Zoey Derrick has returned to the writing world with her new series. The first book in the series, Unexpected Desires brings the readers back to the larger world of The Bold Universe but let me say that this book can most definitely be read as a standalone! Yes we get to see characters from previous books but their story along with Ash/River, Keenan, Bodie, Caden, and Aryn are so well written and told in a way that you are not left wondering anything.
So this book is an epic love story that will be told over three books, based on that this is The Serendipity Trilogy. Ms. Derrick has delivered this in depth reading experience so that you feel like you have just immersed yourself into their world. I loved every minute of the sweet, the sexy, the steamy, and the tearful parts from beginning to end. Not one moment did I feel like this author rushed the story to just finish. This story was told as it needed to be told, and I cannot wait for the next books. Everyone needs their own Keenan and Bodie to just wrap them up and love on them.

First of all I want welcome Zoey back to the book world I have missed you dearly and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I have missed the world of Bold so much and it was great to see how our fave characters are doing.
Last time we saw beck and Caden they were living their happily ever after thanks to Ash. Well now we know they wanted more and once again they look to Ash to help them out.
Ash is willing to do anything to help her friends but at what cost to her emotionally. She loves them and is willing to help them.
When Caden and Beck introduce her to their friends little did she know that she would be going on a adventure if a lifetime. Love Lust and a job opportunity all wrapped up in a complicated present.
This book is everything and more that you would expect from Zoey can’t want for more

It is than its arranged for her to meet another master n his slave whom are very sexy and caring. They both awe her before meeting her and their bodies respond to her instantly. It is awesome. I could not put it down. I almost threw my tablet at the end cliffhanger ugh

When the writer knows what they are talking about, an honest review is simple. The writing pulls at your heart...makes you want to fight for love, and will make you not want to put the book down!!! I cant get enough of the characters. The emotion that you can feel through each page. Love that makes your heart want to...re-read...over & over. This is an easy enjoyable long read !

Wow what a read this was! And I can not wait for more! I haven't read to many mmf books, maybe a scene here or there, but definitely not a whole relationship regarding mmf. But I don't know why I haven't, this book has totally changed my mind towards those books. I might have to seek out more. This book was melt the ereader kind of read HOT af, and I totally loved every page.

Totally an honor to read a spin off that includes all my fave (which is everyone regarding Finding Love's Wings, 69 Bottles and Bold Security). I fell right in and could not pull away. The passion and eroticism is off the charts 🔥 HOT!!

EEK! I was so excited Zoey Derrick had a new book coming out let alone 3 of them. She is by far one of my favorite authors.
Zoey is so amazing,just from reading one of her books I immediately became addicted to her novels. Her writing style is amazing, erotic and fun with lots of twists and turns. She doesn't stick to the general goodie romantic situation either and I love that about her.
I guess I should actually talk about the book lol.
This book has quite a few character suprizes that I wont spoil for you but it gave me quite the shock. Had my jaw dropping with an omg moment.
River or Ash agreed to be Caden and Aryn's surrogate so they can have a baby and share the love they feel for each-other with a baby. They knew her from setting in the box where they met each-other and her and they trusted her explicitly. She was the only person they truly wanted to do this for them.
She agreed eventually keeping her distance from the baby so she doesn't get attached or trying to. She knows it will be harder than every to let her o if she gets attached.
Shes lonely and surrounded by coupled people and missing contact with someone that cares for her. The guys try but she cant get in the middle of what they have.
Then she meets Bodie and Keenan Carmikle and its a whirlwind from that point on.
This is one amazing book and I cant wait to read book 2.Full of fun and eroticism and so much love you just cant handle it. She brings characters from her other books back in this book and its amazing how easily it flows with her doing that.
With the baby and her emotions this is a heart-wrenching book for sure.
Immediately after reading I went and ordered the second one because I was just that addicted.

I am ecstatic that Zoey is back writing again! I absolutely love everything that she writes! Unexpected Desires is the first book in her Serendipity series. This book contains characters from her previous books but can be read as a standalone though I recommend reading every book she has written.
Ashley has been good friends with Aryn and Caden for quite awhile. She would love to have more of a relationship but knows that they aren't interested in that. She loves them so much though that is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and carry a baby for them. She picks up her life and moves to California to live with them. She is smitten when she meets some of Caden's best friends who also live the lifestyle. She really hopes that maybe they will want her in their lives.
Bodie and Keenan have been together for years. They have a deep love for each other but when they first see Ashley sparks fly. They had a woman involved with them years ago but due to how things ended they are scared to try again. After spending some time with her they decide to give a try and quickly fall in love with her. Will these three be able to keep up a relationship when Ashley is carrying their best friends child?

Finally! Well worth the wait!
I’ve read everything in the Bold/69 Bottles world but by the time I started reading the series, all of the books were already out, so I haven’t been waiting as long for this book as some other readers but it felt like forever. My question was not whether or not to buy the book (I bought it as soon as I saw that it was released - I have KU and could have borrowed it but I do like to buy either the books I really enjoyed or authors that I want to support or both) but rather “should I wait until all of the books in the trilogy are released or read this one right now?” “Right now” won and I’m so happy it did. This book does end with a clear plan for at least a book 2 but it doesn’t end with a cliffhanger, per se.
This book works as a standalone but reading the other books in Bold world will help you understand some of the dynamics at play. Written in triple first person POV. Lots of fun, hot sexy times (M/M, M/m, M/f/m, M/m/f, M/f/M) and some humor. There are some tissue-worthy moments but not from something that could be considered a trigger. This book focuses on a triad that is into BDSM so the “lifestyle” is often part of the focus of the book. There were a few typos but nothing that deters from the plot. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for book 2!

After an extended absence from writing Zoey Derrick is back, not with a bang but with an explosion. I'm not even sure how to express what this book did to me. So many feels! There's always a want for more when it comes to a Zoey Derrick characters so I was thrilled to learn that the next series of books was about Caden and Aryn but as secondary characters.
My emotions were on a roller coaster for the first few chapters because I was reminded of how much I loved Caden and Aryn and I was so excited for what was in store for them.
Then in walks Keenan and Bodie and my world got flipped upside down. As did River's. Keenan and Bodie are the perfect couple. they are so in love with each other and you can feel that love. But when you add in River, it's like a flame to gasoline. She just fits with them and the dynamic that they create between the 3 of them is intense, passionate, sexy, and all consuming.
This story is full of wonderful characters, intense heat, a gripping story, and lots of melt your panties sexy time! This is a definite must read. I am so ready for the second story.

4.5 stars for - Unexpected Desires - book one in The Serendipity Trilogy by Zoey Derrick. This book is part of the Bold World series of books and features characters that we know and love (Talon/Addie/Kyle - from 69 Bottles just to name a few). Long time fans of this author like myself will recognize many familiar faces from her previous books but that's where the similarities end. Zoey dug deep with this triad and wrote material that was original and difficult for any couple to overcome let alone a triad and it floors me to think we have two more books to go. I have a feeling Ms. Derrick is going to shred our emotions and piece us back together bit by tiny bit before all is said and done.
As with most books by this author elements of BDSM play some part in the story. This gem features both BDSM and a full time ménage relationship with lots of man on man loving therefore I urge you to go in with an open mind and devour it whole like I did.

Meet Ashley/ River, Kennan and Bodie. I will not spoiler here, only so much, when you read the previous books, Ashley isn't a stronger. She's friends with Aryn and Caden and they owe her big. Kennan and Bodie are distant friends, neighbors and part of the troupe.
I started reading and it was like I never left the 69 Bottles, The Bold Security and Love Wings family. I loved meeting old friends and acquaintances and read about what happened to them- a lot of them make an appearance.
I was captivated from chapter one and read the full length book, cover to cover, in one sitting. I simply couldn't get enough.
Zoey Derrick is an outstanding and incredibly talented author and I can't get enough of her stories. I loved the storyline, her excellent writing and the characters gave me all the feels.
I highly recommend Unexpected Desires and give 5+ Stars.
And now I'm sitting here with a major book ahngover and can't wait to get my hands on Suddenly Falling, the next book in the trilogy.

I started reading and it was like I never left the 69 Bottles, The Bold Security and Love Wings family. I loved meeting old friends and acquaintances and read about what happened to them- a lot of them make an appearance.
I was captivated from chapter one and read the full length book, cover to cover, in one sitting. I simply couldn't get enough.
Zoey Derrick is an outstanding and incredibly talented author and I can't get enough of her stories. I loved the storyline, her excellent writing and the characters gave me all the feels.
I highly recommend Unexpected Desires and give 5+ Stars.
And now I'm sitting here with a major book ahngover and can't wait to get my hands on Suddenly Falling, the next book in the trilogy.

She's BACK!!!!! I have waited for a new book by Zoey Derrick for what feels like forever (I know it hasn't been but still) and OMG this book did NOT disappoint. The characters from her prior books including Finding Love's Wings, 69 Bottles and Bold Security always feel like coming home to family and friends when I read about them and Unexpected Desires was exactly the same as we get to see glimpses of all our old favourites and then the 2 new hotties Bodie and Keenan and holy cow they fit right in with this alpha, hot, twisted(in the best way) group. You know you are reading a GREAT book when you want to read every moment you can, but also you don't want to because then the books ends, and that was my struggle. I cannot wait to see what happens with River and everyone else in the next books, because if I know Zoey Derrick's writing she has some twists and turns coming up that none of us saw coming. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book for an honest review.

Yay! Welcome back to the writing world Zoey Derrick!! I am so happy to read up on some of my favourite characters from the past.
To get this out of the way, this is not a sweet romance, this is a BDSM (gay and bi sexual) erotica. This book is hot hot hot. It has heat but also has a great storyline. River accept being a surrogate for Caden and Aryn who are in a same sex marriage. They also live the BDSM lifestyle. I learned a bit more about BDSM (D/S) and a mmf triad relationship as it has been awhile since I have read an erotica novel. I love how Zoey Derrick can take you on a trip with each of these characters and by the end of it you are totally hooked. I felt like I was truly getting to know River and her relationships between Caden/Aryn and Bodie/Keenan - swoon. The author makes the characters very relatable, even if you do not live the same life style. I can't wait to read book two! All of the authors books have connections with each other and I remember some characters from previous books I have read in the past. I give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars!

An absolutely wonderful reintroduction to the book world for this Author that I’ve followed for a long time.
Unexpected Desires is the first book in her new Serendipity Trilogy series and reacquainted us with characters from previous series.
Captivated but this story from chapter one, it was wonderful to fall back into characters that branded themselves on my heart and have stayed there. Ashley’s situation places her in emotional turmoil but throughout the story, the love and support of the entire friends group is what brings her through.
A beat I fully crafted story, exploring the MFM relationship as well as the lifestyle but ultimately, an emotion filled story of love, friendship and compassion.
Though ending on a cliffhanger, the knowledge that the next book is only a short wait away is definitely a small compensation.

So loved this!! I haven’t read a book by Zoey in awhile and I wasn’t disappointed in the least! Hot hot hot!! It will definitely get you all bothered. Getting to know the relationship between Raine, Brodie and Keenan. It was a great journey. . Raine has decided to be a surrogate for a couple and in the beginning struggles with her feelings. When she meets Brodie and Keenan its an instant attraction. They feel it also. They have a past they have to deal with. This book is a trilogy. I can’t wait to see where this goes. What a wonderful ride. This book continues the journey from her other books. Its great to see the other characters from those books and “check-in” with them. I loved that part too. You don’t have to read those books but why not???? They were great and only add to the experience!! Enjoy!

I just have to say - Zoey Derrick is BACK with a vengeance! This first book of the Serendipity Trilogy is absolutely Derrick-licious!
We get to see old friends from 69 Bottles; meet new characters that grab us from the very beginning; open our hearts to love that melts your soul.... I am so very, very happy that I get to lose myself in the worlds of Zoey again. I absolutely love Book One and I can't wait to read more.
The emotions, the words, the feels, the depth, it's all there in the amazing words Zoey pens. Her characters are like old friends who have been on vacation and are finally back home to regale us with their lives, loves, and journeys.

The first story in The Serendipity Trilogy gives us some familiar characters from previous books by Zoey Derrick along with some new characters. Ashley/River has agreed to be a surrogate for her good friends Aryn & Caden. She sees how special of a relationship that they have and craves one of her own. But when love comes her way can she handle this new relationship while also dealing with her surrogacy arrangement. Zoey expertly gives so much in this first book… the sweetness of a blossoming love story, the heat of steamy, menage and BDSM sex and the angst of a pregnant woman who will not be a mother to her baby. This book is a bit of a cliffhanger but it just makes you want the next book so much more.

First of all, I have been an old-time fan of Zoey and been following her work since she started writing the 69 Bottles saga and, of course, I fell in love with everybody. So this book is going to seem like a continuation of this universe to somebody who has already read the 69 Bottles saga. Though this trilogy isn't directly connected to the 69 Bottles saga I recommend starting with those if you want to intensify your experience.
Now to the book itself. It’s hot but emotional too, like Zoey's readers are used to expect from her. I believe it is one of her best books yet.

I’ve been waiting for another book by this author for ages and she did not disappoint. Keenan, Bodie and Ash were a trifecta made in heaven-a match is two ppl, right?
Anyhoo I loved following Ash’s journey to happy and it was most definitely a steamy one. She need craved a relationship and found one in Bodie and Keenen. Those two have their own heartbreaking past and Ash came at the right time to make them whole again.
I’m not a person who likes to spoil, so I’ll only say, read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic read & so HOT!
I absolutely LOVED this book! If you love Zoey's other books & characters you'll be more than excited to know that you get to hear from them again in this book! Aryn & Caden need a surrogate and Ash agrees but she was hoping for more of a forever with the two men...in come Keenan & Bodie and boy do things get interesting. River, Keenan & Bodie end up having such an amazing and HOT connection. Their life's are changed but can it work for them to have their HEA? I can't wait for the next book in this series to hear more of their story.

A fantastic story
Zoey does one thing right, she can grab your attention and hold it there. River/Ashley was waiting for her story. It needed to be told.
I was skeptical on this story because her last M&M book was rushed and just wasn't her normal.
Bodie, Keenan, and River will have you emotional, yet rooting for them, while begging for more. It's one got emotional read.
Well done.
