Girl in Luv is the first book in the In Luv Duet by Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros. I've never really been a fan of the 'fake relationship' trope. However, after reading Girl In Luv, I think I can safely say this novella may have turned my views on this trope.

About Girl In Luv:

All Langley is looking for is a date to her upcoming stepsister's wedding. Her main criteria is basically someone that is outside the norm where her ritzy family is concerned. So when Iker Alvarez comes in with tattoos

I was so excited to get this book free. I mean seriously what a bonus, a free book just for pre-ordering the book I had literally waited 6 months to get my hands on. And it's written by two of my favourite authors. So obviously as soon as I got it I jumped right on in. I had no idea what it was about, how long it was, nothing except that it was a gift from two amazing authors.

And now that I have I want to scream and rant at both Rebecca and Jay for their cruelty. I was so invested in both

Iker and Langley meet by chance when she's looking for the perfect date to shock everyone at her step-sister's wedding. Her step-sister is marrying Langley's first love. She's also a self-centered bridezilla. Langley's stepmother is absolutely horrible as well. It is reminiscent of Cinderella's relationship with her stepmother and step-sisters except I think Langley's may be even worse.

Girl in Luv is the latest release by Jay Crownover and new to me author Rebecca Yarros. It's basically a story about a girl Langley in desperate need of a date to a wedding from Hell and Iker a soldier who desperately needs money for his younger brother. I really enjoyed this story so much. Langley and Iker are total opposites but they work so well together. Langley is a doormat and she knows it. While she wants to change she doesn't because of her love for her dad. I love how Iker
Rich girl meets a guy from the wrong side of tracks - sounds like the same old song and dance? WRONG!! This story was everything I wanted and nothing I expected.
I really loved this story and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Langley needed a date for her evil step-sister's wedding events but she couldn't use just anyone, no she had to find someone that would annoy the piss out her step-sister. So Langley visits an unsavory bar to hire someone and when her first target turns out to be a dud the one that saves her isn't. Iker is trying to take care of his family and when he overhears Langley's offer he takes up her cause. This is a fake dating story that turns into a self-worth and discovery
I'm not a fan of duets, but this story hooked me from the beginning. The hero & heroine are very likable and have great chemistry. This was a quick, (mostly) satisfying read, hopefully the next book holds up. As an FYI, there isn't happy ending. The book ends with no resolution, you have to read Boy in Luv for the conclusion.

Rant time and not about this book. I loved this book 5 stars I couldn't wait for book two, stalked Amazon and Goodreads waiting for it and then this book and book two disappeared. I got really sad because I could not wait to see what happened with book two. So now I see book two YAY!!! but Goodreads has deleted my review?? Or its disappeared like many of my other reviews??? Who knows but this is irritating, once wouldn't be so bad but I can't tell you how may times this has happened with my ...more

I usually don't like the hire a date trope in romance because, well, it almost always disappoints me and my eyes almost fall out of my head with all the rolling they do. But two of my favorite authors, Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros, using this trope, well I dove right in. I loved it! Now on to Boy in Luv to find out where they go from here.

When I started reading Girl In Luv, I was confused. What was this going to be about? Was I reading a RomCom? Was I reading a Romance? Well, it was a little bit of both. As we get to know Langley and Iker, you know that you are going to do nothing but fall in love with both of them.

Langley was privileged, beautiful and a doormat. She knows this. She can’t handle it anymore. It’s time she took her life into her hands and show her family that she’s finally not going to take it . She will do

Look out world, this author duo is about to knock your freakin' socks off.

I. loved this story.

I saw another review that mentioned an unexpected amount of emotional depth for a story this short. I couldn't agree more. This isn't long, and things move very quickly, but these authors managed to not only imbue it with emotion, but it felt authentic and realistic and most importantly? My heart bought-in. Completely.

Holy crap, y'all. Iker. This guy. I was not prepared for how fiercely I was about to

4.25 stars. Quickie review: This was really good! This is a fake dating relationship that leads to love, when the h must attend her mean stepsister's wedding to her own ex-boyfriend who cheated on her. The h and H were both good characters, had great chemistry and were not jerks. There was no betrayal or pushing away. Just a sweet, sexy story with a cliffhanger that didn't bother me too much. An enjoyable first book in this duet.

I had an awesome review for this book... but apparently the book was deleted and re-added (thanks Goodreads) so all the data was lost.

I love these two authors. Of course I was going to love this book. I usually wait and binge duets together but I lived under a rock when I received this for pre-ordering Rebecca's The Last Letter and read it only to discover the big cliffhanger and had to wait for book 2. Looking back, I have no regrets. I adored Iker and Langley and even though I'm not the

I absolutely loved this romance. Written with these two amazing authors it was an emotional ride that was also fun, funny, sexy and all kinds of crazy. it's an unconventional love story that moves you while making you cry, yell at the protags and want so much for them to really say what's on their hearts instead of doing stupid face saving things UGH!!!!

Langley comes from a family with money, but her mother passed away years ago and when her father
Langley needs a date. Her bridezilla stepsister from hell is getting married to her ex and Langley needs someone to show the rest of the world she was not defeated by those two. Iker needs money. His brother is going to college and a scholarship fell through. The ten thousand dollars Langley offers him for a week of society schmoozing would go a long way to helping pay for his schooling.

On the surface Langley and Iker couldn't be more opposite. She is a blond haired blue eyed rich college girl

Betrayal never looked more unappetizing than when it swirled around Langley Vaughn. Imagine your first love leaving you for another. Then picture that betrayal with the eyes of your step-sister looking back at you. Now – imagine a wedding on the horizon that you are expected to be involved in because that step-sister is not only family, but she wants to rub the whole relationship in your face. This is the reality that Langley is facing with the upcoming nuptials.

Need a fake date for a wedding can be such a fun troupe, and I really liked what Jay Crownover and Rebecca Yarros did with it here. On the surface Langley seems like a classic poor little rich girl character, but she's really so much more than that. Yes, she grew up rich and goes to a private college, but also volunteers at an animal shelter in her free time and plans on using her finance degree to help companies maximize the funds they use

In Luv Duet Review:

I absolutely loved reading the In Luv Duet by Jay Crownover & Rebecca Yarros. Both books are quick reads you will devour. Langley needs a date for the wedding from hell. Langley is really likable. She is strong, beautiful and determined. When she meets Iker, he is willing to help her. He is caring and devoted and is willing to help Langley, as he needs the money. But what happens when they share more than either expected when they come from very different worlds?

I have read many JC books and only one RY book so reading this series was no hardship. The characters were well defined and secondary characters were annoying enough to be real! Boy did I rightly hate the wicked witch stepmother and her over indulged evil step sister.

I would like to have known if they always come from money or if marrying the heroines dad gave them this opportunity? Regardless they were delightfully awful and added a sense of anxiety to me when I read any of their conflicts with

I really enjoyed and like this story. Langley and Iker were fun and I enjoyed how Iker was a catalyst to Langley coming into her and becoming her true self. They were perfect for each. My only complaint I had was with her dad. I didn’t like how her stepmom and stepsister treated her and felt the dad was oblivious and could have handled them better. I want them to get their just that I mean the boot out the freakin door. I can’t stand them Virginia and Camille. Richard was a dick! ...more

BIL/GIL review:
Girl in Luv and Boy in Luv was the perfect mesh of Yarros’ and Crownover’s writing styles. We got Crownover’s classic “alphahole” male but with a touch of Yarros man grand gesture at the end. To compliment him we have a classic Yarros heroine (kind and needing to find her voice) with a little Crownover sass to make Langley the perfect match for Iker. The whole premise of the book fascinated me as I love the convenience trope and I especially love opposites attract.

10/10 would

Fast paced, quick read, this charming novella of opposites attracting, insta-love story pulled me right in.
The characters were well developed, likable and relatable. Even the secondary characters added to the story.
Does insta love, opposites attracting find HEA?
Is good chemistry and connection enough?
Oh this story made me wonder!
This is book 1 in the Luv Duet and it is NOT a standalone!
Yep, it’s ends in a 2 needs to hurry!

What a great read. Although the setup isn't exactly unique, this author duo's characters sparkled. Loved the fast and furious emotional connection between characters which can be a challenge in such a short book but was done beautifully.
Only down side is this doesn't end on a HEA's a cliffhanger. Got to read book 2 which of course is queued to be read next.

I loved this. It is a story of differences, of love, of unfairness and it is beautiful. Its sweet and dreamy and everything you want and then its crying your eyeballs out. So... enough said. Go read for f*cks sake
