Mr. Vega
I didn't want this woman to be my nanny. She had no experience and a failed art career. What did she know about rearing children? She was my late wife's choice and I didn't too much care for the woman and she didn't care for me either.

I waited and waited and waited for this book. I was so darn impatient that I got on my own nerves. Then it dropped and I couldn’t wait to start reading. Let me tell you it was worth every agonizing minute I waited. Mr. Sexy Vega was one hot ticket. At first he was not my favorite person, but once I got to know him better and see what he was going through, he grew on me like moss on a tree.

Faith was a strong character and I loved how she just didn’t jump right in bed with him. She made him wait,

I stalked Amazon and my phone waiting for my notification that this book was live. It was absolutely worth the wait. This story touched many elements that was very refreshing to see while reading. This book is a must read and and excellent example of being a blended family.

This is my first book by Xyla Turner. The cover intrigued me, but what really pulled me to pick it up and read it was a snippet I read on Facebook about a Super Mario haircut.
That being said, I really should spend more time reading the synopsis because I feel like I let myself down on this one. Maybe I deserve the 3 star rating and not the book. Not sure.

Mr. Vega's wife is dead (not a spoiler, it's in the synopsis). Is this an issue? Yes and No.
If she was already gone
Loved this book.

"Mr. Vega" by Xyla Truner

My Rationalization:

All I can say about the character Gail in this novel was definitely a phenomenal person that was there for the team Vega seeing how the death of a lovely wife did change the lives of three people.

This was indeed a beautiful read of seeing how this author brings Logan, Casey, and Faith together giving them quite a plus at being again the team

I enjoyed this book! Parts were incredibly emotional, heart-warming, and of course, F*CKING HOT. All the main characters were delightful. Faith: An aimless art graduate who still lives with her mother. She's smart, kind, and loyal to her nanny job and her family (mom and Vegas). Logan: Bit of an asshole, who's grieving after the loss of his lovely wife. He's intense and stormy, which is always great in a hero. Little Casey: The most adorable child ever! Faith's Mother: Old school Trini realness. ...more

The story line was good, but as with a lot of this author’s books, you have to reread sections in order to figure out what the author is trying to say. I usually don’t factor that too much in my ratings unless it’s ridiculous but this is becoming a deterrent to reading more from Ms. Turner.

Have you ever read a book that made you want to lay back and chill for the day because you know you won’t get anything done until you finish it? So, you pick up the book, put all responsibility behind you, and you just read?

The story focuses on Faith Jacobs and Logan Vega. Faith is Trinidadian-American, a struggling artist, and is having a hard time finding work. So, with some advice from her mother, she applied for a job as a nanny. The job interview introduces us to the hero Mr. Logan Vega, hi

This is my first time reading a book from Xyla Turner and I LOVED every single bits of it. The storyline was not your ordinary babysitter-employer kinda plot. No cheating. No OW. No OM. No nasty drama! (view spoiler)

The plot story told tales of a different kind of love: love that grows from passions, love that grows from compassion and understanding, love that grows from pains, and love of a family; though its all diffe

Logan Vega is the bomb

I loved this book. It was very well done and plotted. The subject matter was real life in how different people deal with grief, especially children. It seems as though Gail Vega, Vega two of the Vega tribe had a sixth sense about how she wanted her family cared for after her passing. She saw something in Faith Jacobs that told her that she would be perfect to be the Nanny of her son Casey and her husband Logan after her death. All three bonded over their grief on Vega Two's

Great Read

This was a great story.I fell in love with the Vega tribe.Gail Vega selflessly picked out someone to take care of her men when she knew she wouldn't be able to anymore. She picked the right person.Faith was perfect for them.I loved the way they kept Gail's memory alive for Casey. The only thing that irritated me about anything was Faith's mama😡What kind of mama goes to the bahamas and leaves their child on the streets? No matter what Faith told her she knew the landlord was trying to get

I read good books written by authors I follow all the time, but few stay with me that I find myself reading over and over again. Those few books speak to a part of me that's hard to describe and now I have added Mr. Vega to that list.

Mr. Vega is a simply beautifully told story with well developed story line and characters with special appearances by characters from her previous works of which I had not read yet-My mistake.

In my opinion Mr. Vega is one of the best IR books that I have had the ple

I really enjoyed this story. Loss and grief can flip your life upside down. I’m sure we’ve all experienced loss. The pain can be unbearable at times but just know that, with time, life does go on. Going to counseling helped me and I’m glad it was brought up in this story.

I haven’t read the Stenson series so I was kind of lost with a few of the characters mentioned but I liked how all of the characters were mixed in this story.

The only thing I didn’t like was Faith expecting Logan to read minds

A New Favorite!

I had to change plans and make a detour to reading Mr. Vega, instead of another book when I learned of its release because I am loving the Xyla Turner books and was not disappointed. I loved the Vega family, including its newest member, Faith. Casey was a cool interesting kid. It would be interesting to see how he turns out as an adult. It was nice seeing Duncan and Trent again, both men are couple of special characters that I love, Portia and Bernadette, still holding their men d

Nice Vega tribe

This book was a little harder for me to get through. Although I do like the story I found it a little slow so at times I had to put it down and read something else. Mr. Vega is Logan he's lost his wife to cancer and he has a son. Faith is the nanny that the wife hired to become his wife eventually and to take care of her husband and son. Faith supports the family as best she could through the trying times. Logan and his son comes to depend on faith and of course they become attrac

And I Quote

Let me say I enjoyed this book very much once it got to about the 53% mark and beyond. I could not stop laughing. No Mr. Vega did not go out and grab a Just for Me relaxer for his lady! He did and was so proud! Thank goodness the lady at the store told him to put that back! But it was so sweet! And Casey has plenty of time to learn how to stay out of grown folks business. This is a very well written book. My only issue was how she made a point to make sure to separate herself from bl

Good read

The book talked about grief and loving after the death of a loved one in a very sensitive manner. Gail was clearly a great person. Although at times I found Faith a bit childish, I suppose it is difficult to find yourself in such a situation. She was also conditioned by her upbringing and I can imagine that it would be hard to go from your parents house to a fully fledged family with an established life. I’m not sure there was any needs to introduce the Timms to this story. I felt it wa

I really loved this story. The story dealt with death and finding happiness. Logan and Gail are parents of a darling little boy named Casey and needed a nanny. Faith was a brilliant artist who has put her art career on hold to get a "real" job after experiencing very limited success.
Logan is not so sure on Faith and was resistant to her during the initial interview , but Gail was determined to bring her on as Casey's' nanny. We have some very challenging periods of all the the "Vegas Tribe". Gai

Good Good!!

I love when you get a story that's been so well fleshed out and cared for.The paints us a story that's filled when lost and not just because of death but yourself. This is a story about a family that rediscovered themselves and their lives. I love that the writer gives us plain spoken story that you can actually imagine watching. This was not only good but it was funny and sexy at the same time. I loved that this story doesn't weigh you down with other subjects that matter but not in

Charming and loving

This is a very charming and loving story. This story deals with finding love after death and learning how to accept love in an unexpected package. Faith learns how to be independent and to go after her dreams but learns that it's more rewarding when you do it with your family. Logan learns that having a certain amount of experience isn't everything because if it was, he'd have missed out on his good thing. Casey is so adorable and smart. This story has good characters and a go

Not a typical nanny romance

Thank you for not writing the typical nanny romance. The age difference was not obvious. You would think they were about the same age except for the few age "jokes". I liked how you peppered in some of the characters from your other books. Especially my faves, Duncan and Portia. The realness throughout the book had me smiling, especially hair cuts, shopping for us black women and training one's child about grown folks business (the talk between the father and son about

This was a lovely book that allowed us to reconnect with other characters from our favorite books.
Logan was tough to like initially, but he grew on you. Faith was Trinidadian American, so perhaps culturally she was difficult for me to really get into. She's a lovely young woman, but was too conservative and then she switched to actually sexualized person.
Young a Casey was too cute. I thought it was so interesting that the now deceased Mom, Gail, knew that Faith would eventually connect

It was pretty good at first. Really interesting but then after chapter 4 or so it started to drag on. Like some of their arguments were superficial, there was holes in the story, some stuff didnt make sense and I dont know if every book nerd is like me but after reading so many books I can kinda predict how a book is gonna end. And I knew the ending of this book by the fifth chapter, plus it wasnt even that hard to figure out because the author did not hide it very well. It was a decent book

Great book!

Another hit for Xyla Turner! Mr. Vega is a very heartwarming love story between a grieving widower and his son's West Indian nanny, who was handpicked by his wife to look after not just her son, but her husband too. Not only was it a heartwarming story but it manages to squeeze in lots of hot love scenes as well. You will love Logan Vega and his precocious son,Casey even more. Read this! Also contains a preview of the next book in the series, Duncan's Pride where we get even more Dunc

This novella moves you spiritually and's my new thing...Logan and Faith's story did not start with roses and and started off with anger...pain....sorrow....loss...and work through grief...hurt..regrets and then came hot hot Vega love...Logan could no longer hold back his passion and Faith could no longer play coy..she was destined to become Vega 4....just took her a little longer...her soon to be son Casey already knew..

This was a sweet and easy read. Loved the chapters. Little Casey is just an angel. Loved the chemistry between Mr. Vega and Faith.
The only part I didn’t like is that there was no clear description of the heroine and most of the characters (we only get a clear description of Mr. Vega). I mean the heroine’s hair and skin tones were described but that was it. I usually like a full description so I can have a picture in my head while reading.
Other than that the author did a pretty good jo
