I never knew Patsy Cline was so rock 'n' roll.

I was not yet eight years old the first time I read this book, and already by 1994 our library's copy was battered and bruised. (The librarian let me buy it for a quarter and I kept it together with shipping tape). Some of the accounts from others, like Faron Young and even Charlie Dick- not sure how coherent they were much of the time in the 50s and 60s- must be taken with a grain of salt. Lots of dates, locations, etc. can read like boring diary entries, but this was the first ever biography of Patsy Cline. Ellis put so much time and effort into researching for this book, and after Patsy was all but forgotten in the 70s- hard to imagine if you lived in the 90s. This is really a book for major fans of Patsy Cline who will appreciate all the fine details.

I felt like I knew Patsy Cline when I read this book.
What a shame she died so young, at age 30.
It is a long story, and the print is small, so it takes longer to read this book. At least it took me awhile to finally finish this book.
The story was honest, and interesting. I am, and always will be a Patsy Cline fan !!
