Stud Muffin was my first book by Jiffy Kate and it was such a fun read!

Tempest Cassidy is a woman scorned. When she catches her husband cheating, she goes all Carrie Underwood on him… you know that song? Yeah, it was running through my head the entire time I was reading about Tempest and her revenge plots. When she meets Cage, she’s still angry, but she’s tired. And she wants her life back.

Cage is a professional fighter who left Texas to come to Tennessee and ends up in Tempest’s small town. He’s not looking for love, but when he meets Tempest, he can’t resist her. These two have so much chemistry, but are both going through a lot so they decide to be friends. You know how that goes though. Friends + chemistry always equals something so much more.
“On paper, we probably don’t make sense… this big, badass cage fighter and me, a cardigan-wearing muffin maker.” I laugh, wiping away a tear that slips out, but it’s not entirely due to sadness. For the first time in a long time, I can see my life clearly. “But we’re good together.”

I listened to the audiobook and it was a blast. I’ll be honest and say there was so much I loved about this book I considered giving it 5 stars, but there was also so much based on the revenge aspect that I wanted more Tempest and Cage romance and a little less Tempest’s drama with her ex. Still, overall it was a great read for me and I’m looking forward to more from this author duo.

If you’re looking for an audiobook that will make you laugh, swoon, and smile all the way through with just enough of the feels, pick this one up. It was heartwarming and enjoyable to listen to.

My heart belongs to Cage Erickson!

This book was SO FREAKIN GOOD!! Tempest Cassidy is my shero! She gives a whole new meaning to “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” and this song, that played in my head constantly while I was reading—“Before He Cheats.” This story starts off with a bang! Cheating husband, and all the crazies that come out from that after. I mean, there’s only so much a woman can take. After a few lock ups behind bars, and anger management classes, Tempest meets Cage. Cage is from Dallas, and a professional UFC fighter. After a career ending injury, he decides to pack up and head to Green Valley, TN. Man I love that place! Long time friends with Hank, owner of The Pink Pony, Cage decides to take on a change of scenery as a bouncer. Let’s just say he meets a very drunken Tempest, and the rest is history. It was instant chemistry from the get go.

I love the instant friendship that happened between them, all the while this amazing sexual tension that was written brilliantly! Jiffy Kate just kept making me hot under the collar. Cage was so patient with T. I loved seeing his baser urges coming out at times too. I mean who doesn’t want to be thrown over a man’s shoulder or get a nice ass slap now and then. Just promises of the hotness to come once T surrendered to it, and “let go and let flow.”

I absolutely loved this part:

“Running my nose along her cheek and over to her ear, I lower my voice and tell her, “In three seconds, I’m going to kiss you. If you don’t want me to, you should walk away now. No harm, no foul. However,” I pause, nipping at her ear and loving how her entire body shivers in response, “if you stay, I plan on devouring you. I have four hours until I have to be at work and I’ll spend every second worshipping your body… if you’ll let me.”

Yessss, please!! I also loved how he let T take her aggressions out on him in the best possible way.

“Take me. Take my body and get your pleasure however the f*ck you want. Clear your mind and just feel. Break yourself into a million pieces, if you need to. All I ask, is that you let me help put you back together.” That Cage is a man of his word!

I could literally go on and on, but bottom line is I want to bake all kinds of different muffins and give them names. Bravo, Jiffy Kate! Bravo!!!

”I always knew you were a little crazy. It was just hidden down under all your cardigans and china patterns.”

For most of her life, Tempest Cassidy has done everything just like she was supposed to. It never occurred to her to look beyond the life she made with her high school boyfriend turned present day husband because she was happy. She was, dammit!

That all changes the moment Tempest returns home one morning with the hopes of getting knocked up, only to find her husband in bed, naked and asleep with the woman she hates most in the world.

Folks, things are about to get all kinds of interesting.

Cage Erickson needs some space and time to figure out what’s next. What better place than working for his friend as the new bouncer at Green Valley’s only strip club, The Pink Pony. When a beautiful redhead comes into the Pony with the express intent of drinking way too much tequila, Cage finds himself intent on being the new best friend she needs.

Okay, that last part about being the friend she needs is only partly true. He also wants to spend some naked time with her if that’s on the table. For her part, Tempest just wants to feel like herself again. Since the morning she found out her husband was a lying, cheating douchebag, she can’t seem to control her baser instincts. Burning her ex’s stuff in a driveway bonfire means Tempest is no stranger to the police paying her a visit. Soon, one court date turns into more and Tempest needs to find a way to rein herself in. Good thing she has a shiny new friend to help her figure things out.

I’m a Jiffy Kate virgin and I’m so glad Stud Muffin was my first. I truly loved this story. From the beginning, and I do mean the beginning, Tempest is a woman scorned, say what you will. She throws things, she pulls a B&E in order to steal her ex’s most prized possession, she stands in the middle of his yard in the middle of the night and tells him just exactly how horrible of a human being he is. That’s all awesome and just the kind of emotion I always say I want from my scorned book women. Until it just became sad.

Luckily, right about the same time I wanted Tempest to pull her shit together, Tempest started pulling her shit together.

Let’s talk a little about our man, Cage. He’s the unicorn, my friends. Ex-Harvard turned MMA fighter taking things easy for the time being, and who’s only real goal is to make sure Tempest knows how wonderful she is.

“Clear your mind and just feel. Break yourself into a million pieces, if you need to. All I ask, is that you let me help put you back together.”

That’s the dream. Or at least my dream.

Tempest and Cage had me smiling until the end. As much as I enjoyed Tempest raging at and getting over her ex, I enjoyed her opening up and finally trusting Cage even more.

I really enjoyed this book right from the start! Tempest, the Duchess of Muffins, was a great heroine and I really felt for her. It is hard to imagine how she was married to Asher in the first place but I related to her anger and loved her retaliation. Cage was hot book boyfriend who reminded me of Charlie Hunnam. Cage was a former UFC fighter who recently moved to Green Valley to work for his friend Hank at the Pink Pony. Sparks fly when Tempest and Cage meet and you can feel their attraction. Stud Muffin is a friends to lovers slow burn romance that will pull you in. It’s an emotional journey with love, heartache, laughter and growth. This was the first novel I read by Jiffy Kate and I look forward to reading more from them in the future. Stud Muffin fits in perfectly with the other Smartypants Romance books and I can’t wait to read more about the Donner Bakery girls. Warning: this book will make you starving for some delicious muffins and a hot Viking to go with them!

Favorite Quotes:

I don’t want to be a person with a rap sheet. Orange is not a good color on me.

Anna will kick my ass when she finds out, and don’t say she won’t find out because we both know that’s a lie. Nobody gossips like the barflies and the Baptists.

First of all, Cage is not scary looking… Just because the men around here walk hunched over, dragging their knuckles like their Neanderthal forefathers, doesn’t mean it’s wrong to be tall. He can’t help it.

“That cucumber,” he says, pointing to my hands. “You’ve been squeezing it for a few minutes now. If it’s not firm enough, I can maybe go to the back and see if we have any fresh off the truck.” It’s then I realize Johnny works here at the grocery store and I have a large cucumber in my hands… stroking it. When did I get to the produce section? And when did the produce section get so erotic? Is it hot in here? … What am I here for again?

She’s the incarnation of Satan. Asher and Mindy aren’t going to have a bouncing bundle of joy, they’re going to have a devil love child. I should alert the media. This has a horror movie written all over it.

I thought it was fictional, something women made up or only happened in pornos… I’m Jell-O. My bones have turned to mush and I’ll have to spend the rest of my days just oozing through life… Here lies Tempest Cassidy. It took twenty-eight years, but she finally found out what it was like to have multiple orgasms and cunnilingus. And then she died.

My Review:

I giggle-snorted, smirked, and laughed aloud while reading this wittily penned tale. I am new to the dynamic duo of Jiffy Kate, silly me, where I have been? Their writing style was seamless, cleverly amusing, comically descriptive, keenly observant, and sharply honed to conjure sharp visuals that had me bouncing in my chair with gleeful delight.

Tempest, the Donner Bakery’s Duchess of Muffins, has gone off the rails, she seemed to have lost control of her temper after catching her husband in bed with her high school nemesis; I would imagine that certainly would do it for me too. Her vindictive acts of retribution were landing her in jail, racking up $$ in fines, and landed her in anger management. Her ex seemed to have ended up with all the friends but luckily for her, Tempest was befriended by a gorgeously handsome and well-sculpted new resident. Cage was a retired UFC fighter turned strip club bouncer – and he soon had her back, much to Tempest’s pious Bible banging mother’s horror.

Having been raised in a small, inbred town in the South, as well as surviving a ridiculously and stridently religious mother myself, I totally identified with the narrow-minded and petty small community complications and issues Tempest was floundering with. While I empathized with her plight, I frequently wanted to give her a few good kicks to dislodge her cranium from her colon. I was besotted and enamored with the sexy Cage; he was not at all what I would have expected from an MMA fighter, as he was highly intelligent, insightful, tenderhearted, patient, and my new BBF. Of course, being that he was perfect, he was like a unicorn and the type of man that could only exist on my Kindle.

This was so good! I really liked it and it fit so well in the Green Valley world. Tempest was my kind of crazy! Under the circumstances I think she was quite tame. I absolutely loved her. And I absolutely loved Cage too. What a sweetheart hottie. This story was the perfect mix of heartbreak, healing, and hilarious. Happy reading!

When I first started this book I was afraid wouldn’t ‘get it' as I have never read a book by Penny Reid. (I know!! What rock have I been living under!?) However, you do not need to have made any previous trips to Green Valley, Tennessee to jump right into this story.

All you need is life experience.

This book is laugh out loud funny. The dialogue is so sharp and witty you’ll feel like you’re hanging out with your best friends. Yet at the same time, the story touches on topics like infertility and divorce in a way that is so pure and raw reading about Tempest and Cage becomes therapeutic.

Every woman who has ever gone through a divorce NEEDS to read this book. So does every woman who’s ever stood back and wondered who she really is without the partner by her side. (Pretty much all of us at some point, right?) If you’ve ever stared down an ovulation kit AND/OR known a man who deserved to have all his crud burned in the driveway — this story needs to be in your life.

There is a little bit of Tempest Cassidy living inside every single one of us. As a reader, it’s a joy to tear through the pages of her story and imagine what it feels like to stare down the people who’ve wronged you and actually fight back for revenge.

This book is that rare, perfect combination of humor and heartfelt emotion. You will fall in love with Tempest and Cage (and end up with a burning desire for freshly baked muffins.)

You will also be dying for Jiffy Kate to write their next installment about Anna and Cole.
The world NEEDS their story!

This book has made me a new Green Valley fan.

So far, the  Donner Bakery series is killing it in the Smartypants universe. Baking Me Crazy set the bar for these new sets of books in Penny Reid's memorable universe. And I absolutely devoured Stud Muffin . This was an absolute joy to read especially with a heroine that has been wronged in the worst way possible and was ready to make a comeback. She's definitely a firecracker and I loved watching her personal journey to finding her happy.

And Cage is just a sight to devour as well. Loved his support for Tempest, immensely. He was seriously the best. Cage turned out to be a bit of a teddy bear, which was not what I expected from a former MMA fighter. So, I really liked getting to know his sweet and tender side.

Definitely an improvement from the first installment of the series but I still still wasn't wow by the characters nor storyline. This obviously falls under the instant love category and everything just moved too quickly for my liking. I think the only up side about this read was the whole divorce drama, otherwise it was a pretty mediocre read.

=====================

Curled up in my bed—in my fluffy white comforter I picked out at Dillard’s on my last shopping trip with my mama in Nashville and my most-favorite one thousand thread count sheets—is my husband of eight years, sleeping soundly… and right beside him is another head of brown hair that looks suspiciously like Mindy Mitchell. Been around the block more times than the ice cream truck on a hot July day… Mindy Mitchell.

For years, I let my happiness reside in Asher Williams. Twelve years, to be exact, since I was sixteen years old, and look where that got me—cheated on and divorced, with a rap sheet.

"We all need our mama's words of wisdom from time to time, but I also need a freaking break."

This book pulled me in from page 1.

It was heartwarming to watch Tempest begin to heal. I love that she got her happy ending with a man who is worthy of her love. Watching their relationship develop was a treat as tasty as I imagine those muffin recipes are. I have a feeling we'll be hearing more from the Erickson family, and I can't wait.

Stud Muffin by Jiffy Kate
( Smartypants Romance )

#Review #PreorderNow #SmartypantsRomance

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

‘“Whatever happened here today...you’re more than that...more than however you feel...and whoever made you feel that way.”’

I think maybe after this review people will start to second guess the integrity of my reviews, simply because this is my third five star read, out of the three books I’ve read so far from the Smartypants Romance series. But I’m here to tell you right now that these books are written to the highest calibre, with the most amazing imagination and talent, utilised and expanded upon, in order to produce romance stories that are going to appeal to a wide array of readers.

Stud Muffin was a book that certainly kept me on my toes. One minute you’re delving into the story, prepared and ready, or at the very least, you think you are. You’re intrigued, emotions are engaged, your laughing and grinning and within the turn of a paragraph or a phrase you’re sobbing like your heart will never mend again and within a few seconds you’re back to laughing again. Jiffy Kate is able to extract every little feeling out of us, by giving us a superbly flawed, very human and utterly destroyed heroine. Her pain pulsates off the page in ripples, her anger becomes your anger and her triumphs become your triumphs. Every step of the way, every page, every scene, we are with her. Tempest is fascinating. She is so resilient and identifiable, strong but unsure, unpretentious and unique, full of love but so terribly alone. I just found her entirely captivating, her actions and reactions, her thought process and her ability to learn from her mistakes.

‘“The muffins are sad,” I say, after a few moments, “because I’m sad...and I can’t get past it. I thought a clean break was what I needed, but the edge left behind is so sharp...I feel like I’m bleeding every time I breathe.”’

Cage, our ex MMA fighter turned Pink Pony bouncer was an absolute sweetheart. An alpha hero through and through, he has a seriously delicious intuitive and soft side, one that sees past Tempest’s tempestuous ‘hot head’ reputation to the lovely lonely woman hiding underneath suffocating hurt and humiliation. Watching their friendship bloom was so wonderful, the little touches, the longing glances and the sensual, sedate slide into a full blown lust and love affair was equally mesmerising.

Stud Muffin is a tremendously well-written love story, a compelling and passionate one that starts out with betrayal and heartbreak, revenge and uncertainty and ripples along through to recognising your own worth, learning to trust your own judgement and especially allowing yourself the chance, pleasure and excitement of falling madly, deeply, irrevocably in love again. Individually Cage and Tempest are beautifully flawed and full of so much love to give. Together they manage to highlight and extract the good parts of each other and hold them up to the light. And it’s Jiffy Kate’s fantastic characterisation, descriptions and dialogue, that combine in order to gift us readers, this stunning love story, that is a marvellous addition to the Penny Reid universe. So be sure to keep an eye out round Green Valley, Tennessee, you’re bound to see a few well -known characters.

Jiffy Kate's book for Smartypants Romance. 'Stud Muffin' is the second book in the Donner Bakery Series, a contemporary romantic comedy, and can be read as a standalone. (y)

Going back to Green Valley and seeing Donner Bakery, what?!?!? This book had me on a roller coaster of feels. I couldn’t put it down. I cooked and held my kindle. I went to the bathroom with my kindle. (I cleaned it) I totally recommend this book to everyone. Here I was worried I wouldn’t relate or understand as I’ve never been divorced. But let me tell you, this book is that good you will still love it.

I love how it opens right into the action. Right away we are peeking at Jen & the new bakery. We see the fun character of Tempest, the Duchess of Muffins.
Then everything takes a huge turn when she gets home. Like shoes flying, shit hitting the fan. I Love Love Redheads. Maybe partial cause I am one. Tempest aka Em aka T is a lovely ginger with spice. “Momma calls them episodes.” That’s a southern thing. My momma always did and said I had them as a teen. Lordy, I gave her grey hair.
VHS players & housecoats! Love it! I love the throw back references from JiffyKate that were unexpected and hilarious.
Cage, a former UFC fighter, friends with Hank since Harvard. Hired to be new bouncer at Pink Pony.
This book is giving me all the feels. Poor girl, I feel a burden lift for her when her divorce is final. I can’t blame her for wanting to celebrate. Even choosing the PP.(I love how she calls her Cousin wife a nun.)
When Cage meets Em I expected some sorta meet cute. Instead it’s drunk bar dancing. Not what I saw coming. And why doesn’t he introduce himself sooner?
I think I like Cage. I hope he likes G.V. I understand what Hank is saying about the small town. We moved to one 3 years ago and I couldn’t think about moving away now. Everyone in everyone’s business. But there is always someone there for you.
I love the way Cage sees Em in the beginning. “Can’t say I pegged her for one to break the law, but it also doesn’t surprise me. There was a fire behind those green eyes... like an angry, sleeping dragon.”
Cage makes me laugh so hard. “Oh, fuck me... fuck him and his pink pony he rode in on.”
Even Em makes me laugh, with the cucumber in the grocery store.
I never understood why girls break their own hearts.
I do love how it comes together in the end. Not so sure about pineapple cupcakes though. I feel like we need some recipes from all of these cupcakes mentioned. Can I get a recipe book next?

*REVIEW* 💖💖💖💖
Stud Muffin really grabs you from the beginning. Tempest catches her husband in bed with another woman. Honestly, I probably would have killed him. I felt so angry about this, plus the town gossips, and sorrowful for her dreams of a family. Tempest has every right to make a few bad choices. At least, these acts lead her to Cage. The universe is slowly righting itself. Cage has hurts of his own due to a career ending injury. Now, he's trying to figure out what's next, and start over in a new town. Tempest and Cage save each other from utter despair. As their friendship turns to something more, they learn that life can be put back together after shattering if you give it a chance. This is such a good story with every emotion from furious to happy written in the pages. Tempest is a relatable authentic woman. I loved her! Cage is the hard on the outside but soft on the inside guy. He's a kind loving person. Together, they are perfect. Stud Muffin is sharp, raw, hilarious, engaging and well done overall. I recommend this one!

The prologue for this book just grabs you right from the start! Tempest and Cage sorta of have a friends to lovers story, but the immediate underlying attraction just pulls you in! Jiffy Kate does an excellent job of bringing Tempest’s heartbreak and pain to life and you just feel it in your bones. You also just root for her when she’s making those questionable decisions regarding her revenge 😉.

I loved the little tidbits we got regarding how Cage and Hank met. I also need all the recipes for all the muffins mentioned in this book. I’m thinking there needs to be a cook book to go along with all the Donner Bakery books! Especially from the Duchess of Muffins!

Tempest Williams, sorry don’t throw anything at me, Tempest Cassidy finally lives up to her name and her red hair personality. Tempest is the Duchess of Muffins and a bonafide cardigan wearer and she’s also a people pleaser so when she catches her husband of 8 years doing the unspeakable, she loses it in an epic way. She channels her inner Angela Basset in Waiting to Exhale among other things. Girl goes for it big time. Tempest is the biggest storm Green Valley has ever seen. She goes on a drown your sorrows mission at the Pink Pony and it’s here she meets Cage Erikson. She tries to keep it as friends but when a man with so many abs and the mythical V on his hips who can keep him away. Slowly she finds her true self and invites Cage along for the ride.

Cage Erickson AKA The Fighting Viking is an ex MMA fighter. A career ending injury has him questioning what he wants to do with the next stage of his life. He takes his friend Hanks offer to come to Green Valley and decompress and figure things out. While bouncing at the Pink Pony he sees a fiery red head on the bar who shouldn’t be there. He soon learns that Tempest Cassidy is a woman scorned and finds himself drawn to her. He settles for being her friend and even escorting her to the dreaded ten-year reunion where she must face her past and hopefully keep her out of jail. He soon learns he loves Green Valley and knows he could do some good there and sets up shop. He will woo Tempest and move at her pace, but he will have the girl.

Asher and Mindy are trash with a capital T. They deserve each other and he gets what he deserves at the end. Oh Cage Erikson swoon! I love me a good Viking. I mean who doesn’t? I liked that he moved at her pace and he seen such good in her. He didn’t see her reputation around town or her rap sheet he saw a beautiful woman with a big heart who can bake a killer muffin. Cage wanted Tempests muffin (giggle giggle) Tempest is the daughter of Butch Cassidy made me chuckle. I think I would have the same reaction as her I mean I’m knowing for throwing things when I’m beyond angry. I figure it’s better than the alternative and that’s laying someone out. The Amazonian pregnant religious freak that was Anna had me dying she was always so scandalized!! This was a fun series that really made me want to bake muffins and watch some Vikings on tv because that’s as close as I’ll get to a real life one.

Stud Muffin is an emotional journey about picking up the pieces when life turns out to be nothing like you expected, and learning to trust yourself again and find happiness. Jiffy Kate brought forth every emotion imaginable as I read this very addictive story!!!

I went into this book completely blind and was blown away. This book put me through the ringer emotion-wise. My heart absolutely bled for Tempest and all that she went through while she attempted to pick up the pieces of her life, while still having to face the people who hurt her and who felt no remorse for it. And Cage....ahhhh swoon. He is everything modern day heroes are made of. I loved that he wanted to be there in anyway for Tempest, even if it just meant being friends. And I loved that he used kickboxing as a way to build her confidence so that she could feel more at peace with herself.

I liked the slow burn of the relationship building with Tempest and Cage and how they truly built their friendship before all else, while at the same time, it was clear their chemistry was still off the charts. I enjoyed the writing style of the book and the story line kept me intrigued and invested. I did not want to put the book down.

3.5/5 stars

Tempest Cassidy was a hoot. I instantly liked her character, she was different from a lot of the other heroines that I have read. She was strong but vulnerable and flawed, which I don’t often see in contemporary romance books. Cage was also such a sweetie even though he had those badass looks. I really enjoyed this novel, it was short and addictive but didn’t feel very substantive. I finished it and was thinking “is that it?”. This was good in that I wanted more of the story and characters but also not so good because I feel like the romance wasn’t fully formed or well-rounded. Nonetheless, this was a very quick, sweet and fun read.

Tempest isn't bashful in her eyeing things and her man takes notice, "...when I glance up at her, I catch the heat in her stare. Do my eyes deceive me or did Miss Cassidy just give me a quick once-over? She most certainly was checking out the goods. I’m not blind and I know when a woman wants me." I liked this book, I really loved Cage.

DNF at 55%.

This book has possibilities but there’s something that just has me annoyed.

Phrases that make me 🤮

- my 🍆 twitched when I saw her (author, there are better ways to describe a visceral attraction)
- I would never force myself on her (uh… I would hope not, so why say it?)

I like the idea of their friendship. But they are both so much in their heads and I don’t get to see the relationship building other than them thinking “I’ve enjoyed spending time with that person”.

So, good thought, not great execution.

Compared to the other books I’ve read in this series this one felt like it played it safe. Not much adventure in the story or characters. I did think it was great to see Tempest discover her self-confidence. I think maybe from reading the series out of order I had unrealistic expectations for these two.

Tempest Cassidy needs to figure out how to get her life back after walking in on her husband having an affair. Not sure where to start or how to handle the emotional fall out she makes a series of questionable decisions, including a few that land her in jail. Needing to forget everything for a night, she heads for the Pink Pony for a few drinks. Cage Erickson's looking for redirection after a career-ending shoulder injury. Not sure what to do now that he can no longer fight he leaves Dallas for a change of pace in Green Valley with the promise of a temporary job and place to stay from his college buddy Hank Weller. What Cage doesn't plan on is meeting a fiery baker who helps him envision a life for himself past his injury.

I had so many feelings while reading this book, after finishing the prologue, I had to put it down and walk away. I was so incredibly angry for Tempest, and really, she was nicer about the entire situation than I would have been. I have read 142 books this year and Asher and Mindy are honestly my most hated characters to date this year. Initially, when Asher apologized to Tempest, I felt like it was lacking, almost like it needed a bigger gesture, more groveling, BUT, after taking time to see past my anger (I'm clearly too invested in fictional characters) that wouldn't have changed any of the hurt or anger. Asher's misery wouldn't have made what he did any better. It was a real-life half-assed apology that you'd expect from someone like him. Tempest was able to find true happiness without him or his regret, making the decision to move on despite Asher's infidelity and lack of remorse. Even though this story made me shed a few tears, there were several moments where I was absolutely cackling, the small-town gossip mill, Anna's personality in general, Tempest's mom, it was all so incredibly small-town southern, and made me a little homesick. Of course, I loved seeing a little bit of the Banana Cake Queen and a glimpse of Green Valley, for anyone expecting this to be a continuation of the Winston Brothers, it's not. The setting is the same city, but this book is very Jiffy Kate, not Penny Reid. This was such a fantastic story! Thank you to Jiffy for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Edited to add: I realized I wrote this review and didn't say anything about Cage. Clearly a fail on my part, I just related to Tempest so hard. I adored Cage (no, really, I did even though I forgot him the first time). He had the patience of a saint with Tempest, agreeing to be friends with her even though that's the last thing he wanted, recognizing her need to build trust with him first more than anything else, giving her space when she needed it. At the end, he stressed me out a little, caused a little anxiety of his own, but that just made the ending that much sweeter.

Trying to have a baby is stressful, trying to have a baby after a miscarriage is heartbreaking - and for Tempest life is about to get a whole lot worse.

As a professional athlete you know you are always one second, one injury away from being done but no one ever really thinks it will happen to them - but it is happening to Cage who has come to Green Valley to decide what to do now.

Tempest is in a dark place and is the town's curiosity on a good day and the town joke on a bad one. Cage is instantly drawn to this woman and he just doesn't know why.

So these two wounded souls decide to be friends - just friends (oh the lies we tell ourselves) and their relationship is sweet and supportive - and filled with UST UST UST

This was an amazingly fun read - I started it as a little bedtime reading last night....3 and 1/2 hours later I made it to the end and the night of sleep was shot...totally worth it!!

Tempest Cassidy was stuck in a life lacking love and full of self-doubt; then she walks in on something that quite literally blows her life to smithereens... I couldn’t stop reading once I started the book. I was hooked!

Stud Muffin is sweet small town story of finding yourself post-divorce and learning to love and trust yourself again. I loved how self-reliant Tempest became, her growth from start to finish was amazing! Cage Erickson helped teach her kick-boxing, but really instilled in her so much more- some self confidence and worth. It was a beautiful transformation and a story that touched my heart.

Asher is an ass, and so much like my own arrogant ex-fiancée that it was scary! I had a hard time with his parts of this story because of this reason... Tempest reminds me of myself a little bit. It’s hard to pick up the pieces when life blows up, and you don’t know what to do about it...

This being my first book I have read by Jiffy Kate. Holy crap!!! I can't wait to go back and read their earlier work. Especially the Donner Bakery book 1!

This book was so good and had my attention from page one. The way the authors were able to tell the story and made me feel what was going on. It was so easy to fall in love with the MC's. They were everything and so much more.

The pain, heartache and hate that you can feel and the way Cage was able to swoop in and just bring strength, power and fight to the heroine, made me just feel even more attached to the book.

Cage is the book boyfriend that I didn't know I was waiting for all year!

This story was absolutely amazing!
