The boys are back, bigger, badder, and bloodier than ever.

Following their series of narrow victories in Conviction, Cane, Daniel, and their misfit friends are getting closer to exposing the apocalyptic plot by the terrorist organization known as the marked men; genetically enhanced citizens led by a dangerous man named Vinson and his deadly lieutenants. Now they must find and rescue William, an Army Ranger who promises to have the answers they need in order to uncover the terrorists’ grand scheme. There’s only one problem: The Russians are holding him as a POW in a Middle Eastern country. The race is on to recover William before Vinson finds out who he is.

While Vinson and his lieutenants have been embarrassed and outmaneuvered by Cane and Daniel in the past, they’re determined to strike them where it hurts worst. Unable to pin the two men down personally, they’ll do the next-best thing: target those closest to the men while they’re distracted overseas.

The race is on, and the clock is ticking. Can they recover William before Vinson finds out who he is? Can they get back to their families and friends in time to save them from the monsters who hunt them? Will William have the answers they need in order to discover and thwart the terrorists’ plans?

Friction, the second novel of the Written By Blood series, like the first, promises to be action-packed from front to back. If you like conflicted antiheroes and fast-paced thrillers, you won’t want to miss out on this one! Just scroll back up to get your copy today!

USA Today Bestselling Author Dwayne Gill first thought of the premise of his series "Written By Blood" when he was just twelve years old. Growing up, he loved action movies and larger-than-life heroes, which is evident when reading his writing.
However, as he got older, he became bothered by the typical action figure tropes and the predictability of the plots, causing his series idea to evolve further.

If you like action thrillers, unlikely, conflicted heroes, twists, and character development that has a much deeper moral than most other thrillers in its genre, you'll want to follow the series "Written By Blood."

Dwayne Gill lives in Louisiana with his wife, son, and daughter.

The book follows on from the first, Daniel is now part of Cane's team. At first I was a little confused at who is part of the team apart from Lynks, and who is doing what but after a while it all falls into place. They are still trying to find the 'Marked Men', the assassins who seem to be intent on bringing the whole country down and when they find a doctor who has been injecting ordinary men with a serum that changes their minds and turns them into strong and powerful killers, they realise that there could be thousands of these unnatural beings.
If Cane and Daniel weren't scientifically enhanced themselves, there would be no help for our team of misfits and their helpers, but the two 'monsters' are capable of anything, as we know.
There are twists along the way,one mighty big one coming right near the end, but once again the cunning and evil Vinsen escapes their clutches and we move on to the next book knowing that the team are now much better equipped to dealing with him in the future.
If anyone should read this book without reading the first one beforehand, then I think that they will probably be a little confused as to what is going on and just who is killing who.
There is also a lot more character building in this episode and the whole 'family' is now growing on me immensely, especially Daniel who has turnedvinto a big soft pussycat. I like Dwayne Gill's writing, it is easy to read and straight to the point and I am once again giving this a mark of 5/5.

The story continues of the battle between the elite with their marked men and the good guys with their own genetic monsters. The imagination is still very good as the story continues, and the monsters begin to acquire human capabilities of love and compassion. Much of the mystery in the earlier books is explained toward the end of the story. Again, the action is powerful and leads to a conclusion, but the battle is not over. Cane and Daniel are joined by a third genetic mutation known as William, and the three gather their unique combination of friends to continue the battle.

They just keep getting better.

They just keep getting better. I like action adventure, but for me it's usually in a world with magic, maybe a elf or a dragon or two. I'm a sucker for free books,so when Daniel's Darkness and Canedemnation became available I snatched them up and have been a fan ever since. What's not to like? It's a new way to combat evil and rescue damsels of distress. The mAin thing I hate is having to wait for the next one!

Plot to overthrow the Government-Twarted?

I gave this series 5 stars because it has all the ingredients of an excellent read. Lots of action, heroes, really bad bad guys, betrayal, vengence, romantic tension, guns, emps, losing and saving of innocent lives. Mr. Gill has done a fantastic job of character and plot development and the story flows very well. If you enjoy all of the things mentioned here, you will love this series. Highly recommend!

Thrilling

This book is for people who like excitement assassins and hero’s. I felt like I was reading through a web I had to keep unraveling all the clues I would think I got it and the thread went another way. Characters all had such strong identities which was well done by the author. Can’t wait for the next gave it 5 stars as my attempt to stop reading was impossible. Loved it.

William seems to know more about the three of them than do Daniel and Cane, but he doesn't know it all. They find out who their real parents are, as does Natalie. Daniel receives an unexpected, though very welcome, surprise. Now that the three are together, will they be able to stop Vinson's plan for a 'new' America from succeeding? I guess that will depend on how deep the corruption goes.

This was an awesome book. Many twists and turns that had me both angry and sad. Then out of no where had me cheering for the main group of characters. I recommend this book to one and all. I have now got to buy and read the rest of the series!!!

I read Friction: Written By Blood, Book Two, by Dwayne Gill at the request of the author, Dwayne Gill. It is set in the year 2028, and answers questions for readers of Written By Blood, Part One: Conviction, the first in the Written By Blood series. For sci-fi lovers and thriller lovers alike, this is a novel you won’t be able to put down for long, if at all.

These elite “marked men” while still seeing themselves as monsters, are beginning to develop feelings of empathy, compassion, and even love. They find this both encouraging and disturbing, as it contradicts their own self-images and raises questions about themselves. Cane and some of the other men learn the truth about their birth mother, and that alone answers some of their questions.

They have beaten the bad guys yet again, but the struggle between good and evil is not over – not yet. Each time I thought I had things figured out, here came another plot twist. Mr. Gill certainly kept me on my toes. Thriller lovers, you must read Friction.

What made The Grumpy Book Reviewer grumpy?

• A few syntax issues;
• mixing plural and singular within a sentence;
• confusing “further” with “farther”;
• verb tense disagreement within sentences;
• incorrect verb usage.

Following on shortly after events ended in Conviction we find Cane and Daniel doing what they do best, taking the fight to the enemy... The organisation known as the 'Marked Men' and their dangerously clever phycopathic leader Vinson. Raiding stronghold after stronghold Cane and Daniel get ever closer to the truth... But if Vinson cannot get to them.... He'll hurt the ones they love.... Cane and Daniel need William an army ranger who shares a lot in common with the two.. this means a race against time as Daniel and Cane try and rescue William from the people holding him with Vinson's 'monsters' closing in, even if they get William will he and his answers be enough??

A taut, action packed thriller set in the future, a future of E-Guns and genetically engineered humans.... This book has it all, great characters that you get really invested in... A truly horrible bad guy, well described fight scenes that are literally bone crunching and easy to follow action  sequences... At the heart of it all are three of the most human 'monsters' you will ever want to meet, each fighting in their own way to prove they more than the sum of their 'birth'

Well worth a read.

If your reading choice is hard-hitting real-time action delivered very sensorily with breathless suspense and near-futuristic science, you cab scarcely do better than picking up Dwayne Gill's WRITTEN BY BLOOD Series, including CONVICTION and FRICTION, plus prequels and short stories.

If you want hardcharging heroes who has a soft heart for loved ones and strong loyalty to friends, you'll find it here. And my favourite aspect: CONSPIRACY!
