Vampires are a pain in Alf’s neck.

After hosting a diabolical vampire wedding last Halloween, Alf had imagined that Whittle Inn had seen the last of those long-toothed monsters. She’d pointedly barred them from ever setting foot or fang in her part of the English countryside again.

But since then, one thing has continued to bother our favourite wonkiest witch.

Wonky Inn owner Alfhilde (Alf) closes her Inn at wizard Shadowmender’s request. Vampire bats are circling the Inn, trying to find a way in. Alf is sent on a mission to the Vampire’s castle where she is essentially a prisoner. Will she find a way to escape? Also loving the development between her and Silvan. Best read if other books in the series have been read.

The Mission impossible of Wonky

Think this is my favourite book to date, I couldn’t help the MI theme tune playing in my head in places.

Double dealing, vampires and a ghost that bakes - what more could you ask for!

Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn #8 - while it started slow for me, I was not in the mood for vampires, the pace picked up and I was immersed in the captivating storylines and good characters.

This ended up being a good read. The author's talented blending of old and new storylines, vivid descriptions, I fell in love with Romania again, and her creative creation of characters made this story hard to put down once everything came together.

Plenty of intrigue and suspense with touches of humor and

Alf was practicing her magic for conjuring djinns and it didn’t go very well. Silvan, a master of the dark arts, eliminated whatever she had actually created with her wand that ran off. He asked her what she wanted, and she simply replied, “To be happy.” She had formed so many friendships since she took over the inn, such as her hotel manager Charity, Millicent her nearest witchy neighbor, Vance the Ent who lived in Speckled Wood, Mara the emotional witch and her faery changeling, Harys. Alf is sick of seeing the familiar blood red writing on the heavy parchment letter, she knows it is from Sabien, the Father of the Vampire who's wedding was an unmitigated disaster the year before, so far she has managed to destroy the letters that have come before, not interested in anything the Vampires have to say. But this time she is shall we say encouraged too hoo read the latest missive, it is a warning, to close she and the Wonky Inn are in danger and she should close the hotel and ...more

Alf seems to enjoy training with Sylvan, although the training seems more fun than useful. Another missile from Sebastien brings warnings of trouble brewing. This is one warning Alf does not avoid at the insistence of her grandmother.

Clusters of bats seem to be lurking around the Inn. Kat and Marcus arrive, insisting they were invited by Alf.

Sylvan disappears for work, and her guests to safety elsewhere, encouraged by Alf.

Danger is about, and a better understanding for Alf of herself, her

Vampire problems at the Wonky Inn. What do those bloodsuckers want now?

This is the latest book in the series (sorry, I have lost track of numbers). Each book works very well as a standalone. This one will have a bit more references to events past than normal, but all the critical stuff is spelled out pretty quickly. But beware, as the series is highly addictive and you will soon want to read the rest of them.

I have loved the Wonky Inn from the first book I read and that hasn't changed. As usual,

vicked vampires and vitches

Another fun and furious wonky story that will have you wondering where it is all going to end … maybe the death of our favourite hostess ? If the vampires get their way it will. You really need to have read at least one of the earlier books to get the best out of this one but if you haven't WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ???? A quiet wonkey inn is a new experience and not necessarily a good one A diplomatic mission may not be the easiest task Alf has had to

I think this one is the best and most intense book in the series especially for the fact Alf is in grave danger when she is forced to leave her beloved Inn and go to Transylvania where who knows what will happen to her! You worry about who is safe and who is not, who do you trust or do you trust no one and what happens to the Wonky Inn if something happens to Alf, these are just some of the things you think as you read and honesty trust is the biggest issues in this book and I was second ...more

I just want to know why the Ambassador didn't get his just rewards? Or am I misinterpreting him? Let me know.

You can read this book by itself and follow the story. However, since it does relate to a previous story and the series is WONDERFUL in itself, go back read them in order to follow

Alf has gone through a lot since she reopened the Wonky Inn, but the unsolved murder of a vampire a year ago just won't go away. She is forced into a situation where she cannot depend on the help of anyone but herself to stay alive, and proves to herself that she is capable of much more than she thought. This is the most intense book in the series thus far, and it certainly kept my attention right up until the end, when I could finally breathe again. We also learn something new about Alf's great ...more

Things are never quiet at the Wonky Inn this time it comes from a warning from Sabien, the Father of the Vampire if you read the other books in the series you would know he had a wedding at the Inn and it did not turn out well at all. These books are cute, clever and fun. I love them. The characters are quite eccentric and the mysteries are always clever. They are full of twists and turns and will keep you guessing until the end. I found this book to be the most entertaining of all of them. I read it in just a few hours. I highly recommend this series. It just gets better and better. I cant wait for another.

Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn is the eighth book in the Wonky Inn series. This delightful cozy mystery can be read as a standalone but does reference previous books. The characters are wonderful and likable. The storyline is well written, with danger, drama, humour, loyalty, magic, and mystery galore. I cannot wait for the next book in this wonderfully wonky series.

The vampires are back and it's not with good news. Alf closes the inn for a bit to dissuade guest from arriving. However arrive one does with a warning.
Alf soon has a different dilemma on her hands as she is sent as a diplomatic envoy to the vampires.
She finds out things are pretty scary and that she has friends where she least expects to find them. It is heart pounding good excitment.
There is a definite scene stealer that will have you melting. You might shed a tear or two.
