The collection of 28 Ogham stones at UCC represents the largest collection of Ogham inscriptions in open display in Ireland. Peter Damian McManus is Professor of Irish at Trinity College Dublin, specialising in Medieval Irish language and literature. His published works examine historical and comparative linguistics and writing systems, in particular Ogam, Classical Modern Irish and Bardic poetry. He has acted as editor of Ériu, an academic journal which dedicated to Irish philology and literature and which is published by The Royal Irish Academy, of which he is a member.
