I am surprised by just how much I am loving this couple and their story.

Whilst Vivienne still hasn't completely atoned for her "sins", or fully accepted her part in the breakdown of their relationship, I do really like her. I am totally invested in Solomon and his HEA, and clearly he wants that to be with his Vivi, so I'm rooting for a reconciliation!

The ballroom scenes were equally sensuous, beautiful and emotional but the one that followed of Solomon watching Vivi sleep - that one was heartbreakingly intense. I find myself totally and utterly convinced about the depth of their feelings for one another.

I'm just glad that, with that ending, the series is complete and I don't have to wait for the next book!

As emotional as Paris Pleasure was, this book has it beat, hands down. This book was filled with hurt, and devastation, and all of the explanations for what happened to get them to where they are, that wasn't in the first book of the series. Where Paris Pleasure was filled with anger, this book had the sadness, of a love unfulfilled.

Solomon and Vivienne have a past as tragic as it was beautiful. As amazing as it was, it was also devastating, when it crashed and burned. So many things conspired to keep them apart, to destroy what could have been a perfect love story (BDSM style, of course!) Even now, their past keeps trying to creep in.

There was so much hurt in this story, so much devastation between the two of them, I am left with a sense of foreboding. Even though I know there is a third part (it is a trilogy, after all!) I just don't see how they can get past the hurt and anger. But then, the author leaves us with an ending that surprised even me! Things are heating up, and Book 3 will be explosive, I just know it!

What happens when you love someone and they complete you, but you hurt each other every time you are together? In this part, Vivi has decided to take the bull by the horns and confront Solomon. Past feelings and hurts are addressed and brought out into the open. The decision to end whatever might have been is interrupted when friends decide to intervene. Will it work? Is their relationship worth saving?
This is book two in the trilogy. In it we find out the reasons why Viv and Solomon broke up years before. We also get a glimpse of how they met and fell in love.I felt for both of these characters as they realize how much they love and complete each other, but they seem to have too many issues to work out. It is extremely emotional, and they constantly seem to hurt one another. It was interesting to read/hear Solomon’s POV about the relationship. Ms Dubois especially tugged at my heart strings when Solomon realized that he was willing to give up everything to be with Viv and cried while she slept. Wow. I can’t wait for the next installment.

The "Paris" books are the second of three trilogies featuring the denizens of the (floating) Orchid Club, a super-exclusive BDSM club that caters to the Über-wealthy. While fantasy BDSM clubs are common in this genre, this one outdoes all the others in sheer gilded glitz.

Here, we get a second-chance romance between Solomon and Vivienne, who were together for five years before the stresses of her new job (as CEO of her family's corporation) and the impatience of youth ended their engagement. Five years later, they're re-united at an Orchid Club event, where they discover that they still have explosive D/s chemistry and lingering feelings for each other. But will the unresolved issues from their past get in the way of a possible future?

Let me first say that because I read all three books at once, I didn't experience the frustration other readers did. I strongly suggest doing that because none of these books is a stand-alone and the first two contain cliffhangers.

I enjoyed this set (as I enjoyed the first, Orchid Club: San Francisco: The Complete Trilogy) as the BDSM is well-described and consensual; the MC likeable, but with believable faults; the D/s isn't overwhelming since Solomon isn't a Neanderthal and Vivienne isn't a doormat (in fact, she's really only a bedroom submissive); and Ms. DuBois writes believable dialogue, characters with some depth and backstory (flashback scenes allow us to see the entire arc of the MC's relationship, including their first meeting), and just enough detail without it turning into info-dump.

Even though these books take place in the kind of rarefied atmosphere where people own islands, yachts, and helicopters (so thank god for Christiana, that breath of fresh air), I particularly like the fact that the couple's conflicts are organic and spring from competing claims on their time and attention (family matters, business obligations) rather than anything OTT (for my caveat to this, see below). Both Solomon and Vivienne learn the hard way that the great communication they share as BDSM partners has to carry over into their "vanilla" lives if they're ever going to make it as a couple. "Just talk to each other" is the over-riding takeaway from this book.

I do have four quibbles (an additional one is minor lack of continuity since Solomon was not alone when James called him in the first trilogy). First, all three contain several typos (if Ms. DuBois is using an editor, I suggest she find another one). Second, Solomon blames his hyper-successful mother for his interest in BDSM (really, authors, just don't). Third, the last third of the last book was repetitious (the couple rehashes the same argument) and just took too much disbelief for me to take seriously; there were less extreme ways to get the two to communicate. Finally, I had mixed feelings about Vivienne's decision .

4 stars. I particularly appreciated the point that the author makes about life: neither Solomon nor Vivienne is living how they imagined they would since both had different goals -- not only romantically, but also professionally -- when they were a decade younger than they do now. Since few of us can say that our lives have turned out just as we planned them, this aspect of the couple will ring true.

Side Note: I rarely look at covers, but the people on these don't look at all like Solomon and Vivienne are described.

This is the middle book of the trilogy.

LOTS of hot sex and D/s. OK, also LOTS of melodrama and two overly-emotional people beating each other up. So, so, SO much angst. Fundamentally the whole series is "We feel SO deeply", which you have to simply ride with if you are planning to read the book.

The ending (which leads into the third book) is gloriously absurd. Which sort of fits the series.

Vivienne and Solomon's story continues

Ms. Dubois always delivers an enjoyable read. In the second book Solomon an Vivienne try once more to get together but their current and past lives keeps getting in the way until finally their friends step in to help them.

Great book

The story continues, this time she decides after being left in the dust that she isn't going to let him run away without her getting a chance at closure, the scenes are hot, the chemistry is off the charts, come along for the ride.

Second part of the paris trilogie, this is a second-chance romance between Solomon and Vivienne with a lot of SPICY scenes

The 3 stories are short but together they make a good size book. I'd suggest reading them together because the first two books end on a cliffhanger.

Paris Punishment picks up where book 1 (Paris Pleasure) ended, with Solomon and Vivienne going their different ways when Vivienne chooses family over love….or does she?

Solomon and Vivienne seem to have a lot of past baggage packed with a lot of hurt, pride, missed communication and self worth issues, which although brought up in the first book, really comes to a head in this installment. We see Vivienne flying to Solomon’s private island to see if they can be fixed and to see if Solomon can give Vivienne what she craves….some sexy time with a hot Dom.
This book is interesting because we hear from both characters, both in the past and present. We are also privy to the outside factors which hint to why this couple struggle with having a happy-ever-after scenario, as well as what BDSM brings to them and why they need it.

A lot of scenes in this book hint at vulnerability from both Vivienne and Solomon and if they would only lay everything on the table and listen to one another, everything might be a bit smoother for both of them. The sexy scenes in this book are amazing as always, and I wouldn’t expect anything else from Ms. Dubois!

As this book is a trilogy, it ends in a (throw your e-reader across the room) cliff-hanger and the book definitely leaves you wanting more as well as a one to one chat with some of the characters as well as a couple of WTF’s! The next installment is certainly going to be interesting!

I received an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review.

Vivienne and Solomon's backstory is revealed. What a beautiful, and ultimately, heartbreaking history this couple has. They were perfection together but their love was a casualty of Vivienne trying to do right by her family, not realizing that she and Solomon were falling apart. She was devastated and so was he, even though he was the one that walked away. When they met again several years later at the Orchid Club in Paris, history seemed to repeat itself. (See book one, Paris Pleasure.)

In book two, Paris Punishment, Solomon has retreated to his private island where Vivienne promptly shows up to speak her mind, and while they agree that a relationship can never work, their mutual need and desire leads to one final night of passion as Master and sub. Solomon and Vivienne both come to hard decisions but before they can actualize them, a concerned friend decides to give them a wake up call.

Lila Dubois does a fantastic job in this book of conveying the deep emotions of these characters, the breathtaking love and passion, and the terrible hurt they both live with. It's extremely moving and I can't wait for the conclusion of their story because if ever two people belonged together, it's Vivienne and Solomon. 💔 💔 💔 💔 💔

I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.

Lila Dubois’ Orchid Club Series is so sensual! The scenes are so well written that I can feel everything right down to the “very tip of my toes” (and other parts of my body)! I simply couldn’t put it down! Solomon and Vivienne have found each other again, and the chemistry between them is beyond powerful!! But again, because of Vivienne’s powerful family/business, Solomon has left her… In this part of the Paris Series, we discover the beginning of their relationship, their discovery of BDSM, and what the years they spent together as a couple entailed. They were engaged to be married, they loved each other passionately… but in the end Solomon felt that he couldn’t endure what Vivienne’s family/business was doing to her. Someone had to choose: either Vivienne chose Solomon over always choosing her family/business, or Solomon chose to leave Vivienne… and he did, twice. Now, Vivienne goes to find Solomon on his island because she needs real closure. After one last scene, Solomon discovers that he would endure Vivienne’s family/business in order to be together with her again, but Vivienne, unaware that Solomon feels this way, decides to leave Solomon’s Island. Now, a friend who knows about LOVE, will intervene… Can’t wait to see what Part 3 brings!!!

So in love with Solomon and Vivienne!!

Paris Punishment is book 2 in the Paris trilogy. It gives us a look back at Solomon and Vivienne's beginning, when they both still had stars in their eyes and believed that their life together was ahead of them.

Then life and her family got in the way, bad decisions were made, and real communication ended.

Now Vivienne is tired of Solomon always running away, but is she ready to hear the whys? Every story has 2 sides, is she really ready to hear his? She needs closure and isn't walking away until she gets it, but at what cost?

Absolutely loved Paris Punishment! My heart broke for both Solomon and Vivienne, and I will admit to some yelling at them too on my part. The book ended way too soon and now I'm breathlessly waiting for book three..... the intervention... This book also gives us a possible hint on who the next trilogy will be about. Hopefully we'll learn more about him in book 3. Absolutely loving the Orchid Club and its members.

Oh my god, Solomon and Vivienne are just so full of love, lust, anger and hurt that this second of the trilogy had me on a tumultuous rollercoaster of emotion that had me gripped and loving every painful moment. Once again Ms. Dubois has knocked it out of the park with the raw emotion and the extremely sensual and oh so sexy BDSM that you can't help but groan aloud as you are left wondering what just happened and what is yet to come.

What Solomon and Vivienne have together is explosive and it's hard to decide if the hurt and pain they cause each other emotionally can ever be healed but, the chemistry between them is undeniable and you can't help but hope this somehow works out so there is a HEA for them together. But, Ms Dubois leaves us one again guessing if and should they fight for what they have and can all the past hurt be understood and healed for a much happier future - with James and Christiana on hand you know that if there is a will there certainly will be a kinky way! I can't wait to see how this all ends!

A definite five star read for me!

In this second installment, we get to see the beginning of Solomon and Vivienne's relationship from their first bonjour in Paris to the messy situation they are in today. I fell in love with them as a couple, they so clearly still love each other but can't seem to help hurting each other.

Solomon returns to his island to lick his wounds but Vivienne follows him, determined to get closure. While they hash things out it leads to one last scene, which makes Vivienne face her feelings she's long suppressed and recognized Solomon's pain as well. Their last night together leads to deep revelations, which they react to differently.

While all this is going on their friends are determined to stage an intervention to keep these two together.

Another good read, can't wait for their final story. I voluntarily received this book for an honest review.

While I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, it is just getting better as we learn more about the start of Vivienne and Solomon's relationship, and what led to Solomon leaving the first time.

In this book, Vivienne goes to Solomon's island thinking she wants to get answers as to why he has left her again. She knows she needs some closure so she doesn't fall into a dark place like the first time he left her. But what she hasn't accounted for is that everyone's perception of a situation can be different - which leads her to question what she has believed.

I loved that James and Christiana have made an appearance in these books and we get a look into how they are doing. And since this is trilogy, the book does end in a cliffhanger. But what a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what happens next.

These Trilogies Exceed Expectations!!

The first in the series introduces these characters and gives some back story in an emotional and sensual story. In this second of the series we get more of their beginnings; each thought they would be with the other forever.

Written in such an excellent manner that you feel for each character as you are getting their particular point of view. It is unusual and refreshing to relate to and like both characters.

I do not want to give anything away, but I’m not telling secrets when I say friends intervene. I can’t wait for the third and final in this series. I highly recommend this series!!

Speaking from life experience, love is not always enough. Respect, honesty, clear communication and loyalty have to be there too, for the times when love is confused or shunted to the background by life. Sorry, romantics, but as important as love is, the other things must be there to sustain it.
One has to decide, in tandem, what one will certainly do in order to be together; what one might do, in the right circumstances andwhat one will not do, underany circumstances. Then it's time to negotiate. It's not a one shot deal, either.
So, enough pontificating. The final cliffhanger was exteme, but also pretty funny. I love Christiana!

This is part two in a trilogy, not a stand-alone, must read part one first. I normally do not like cliffhangers, but I knew that this was a trilogy before starting. Solomon and Vivienne met in their early twenties and dated for 5 years before their engagement ended. Part one Paris Pleasure is all about a chance meeting between Solomon and Vivienne five years after their horrible breakup. Part two takes place both in the present day and also in their past. I enjoyed the looks back into their past from 5-10 years ago. Solomon’s POV really had you feeling for him. Ends with quite the cliffhanger, I cannot wait for part three!

Emotions run extremely high for both Solomon and Vivienne. They are struggling with moving on in their loves without each other. Each one has a vision for the future that doesnt necessarily include the other but that changes throughout this book many times. I wanted to strangle both of them at times and hug them close at others. Both of them have unresolved issues that shape how they deal with each other and the outside world. Her family needs to go. His issues with them need to be heard. The love they have for one another isn't going away easily and that is what I think might save them in the last installment (at least, I'm hoping).

My preference is for books that are standalones, complete story arcs in a neat little package. This is not one of them -- it falls squarely in the middle of a three-part story. But, I have to same that I am enjoying the ride and cannot wait to see how this wraps up.

Vivienne and Solomon are completely combustible together; their strong personalities seem to put them at odds but I'm hoping that they will see that they belong together in the end. The heat is searing whenever they are together and this one ends on a cliffhanger of sorts. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and am patiently (not so patiently) waiting for the final installment.

The 1st book in this trilogy was super hot and this book was just as intense . You get some unanswered questions about Vivienne and Solomon relationship. Solomon left her in the first book and Vivienne wants answers. She is the one who takes the next step and wants closure. Did they get it?? We will find out in the next book. OMG I can't wait! !!
Lila will not disappoint as she has a wicked mind and the best steamy sex stories. This book is so emotional and amazing. An intervention is called and I can't wait to read what will happen. I know it's going to be sooooo gooood!
Buy the books, I promise that Lila will be on your best author list.

Paris Punishment brings to the forefront that there is a fine line between love and hate. Lila Dubois dramatically pulls you into Vivienne and Solomon's early stages of their relationship which shapes their current volatile relationship. Vivienne and Solomon decide on finally bringing closure to their relationship in Paris Punishment. In true Lila Dubois dramatic writing, Vivienne and Solomon find themselves questioning who they are and what they mean to each other just in time for an intervention. An intervention that will be explored in the final installment of the trilogy, Paris Promise (Book 3).

Ugh, I am in book hangover...

Or is it “feel” overload. I have been so drawn into Vivi and Solomon’s relationship I am just drained at the end of this installment. This book really gets into the headspace of these characters. But there raw openness at least to themselves during heir scenes is what really defines their story. And finally we get where Solomon is coming from in his actions towards Vivienne. Will they make it work or will they walk away forever only the next book will tell. Can’t wait!

You have to be kidding!
This is how you leave me hanging? I need to know how this ends Ms Dubois! Like, now, right now!
After the catastrophic ending of the first book I was expecting damage control and moving towards a happy ending.
What did I get? An auspicious beginning, loads of information about their history together, and then ... ?
This is unnecessary cruelty! I am not a very patient person, so hurry up writing, dear authoress, or I'll come knocking at your door, figuratively speaking!

Fantastic Continuation of the the Paris Trilogy!

Normally the 2nd book in a trilogy is not as good as the first is just a transition to the third and final book in the trilogy. That is *not* the case with Paris Punishment. This is a wonderful addition to the trilogy, giving background into how Vivi and Solomon got to be where they are in the present/the first book.

Grab a copy and enjoy!!!

Can't wait to see how they get their HEA - b/c oh boy what fun it should be!! Love seeing James Christiana's, from SF Trilogy, input!

Paris Punishment continues where book one, Paris Pleasure ended. Lila Dubois's writing takes you through a roller coaster of emotions, with the perfect amount a drama, explosive chemistry, turmoil, suspense, intense BDSM scenes, angst, and love. This well written romance story has a great storyline and amazing characters, and will leave you hange on the edge.

This book is the second in a trilogy and not a standalone. Paris Pleasure, book one should be read first.

These two characters could be my favorite couple.....ever!! Vivienne and Solomon are so well written, have such painful backstories, and there is still so much to learn. In typical Lila DuBois style, this book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, twists and turns, hot BDSM scenes, and intense chemistry. The book resumes where Paris Pleasure ends and is a page turner from start to finish. Book 3 in this trilogy can't come out soon enough. Lila you've done it again!!
