Good addition to a classroom or school library. Imagines a young girl in the Revolutionary era, in a town with both Tories and Patriots and the entanglements and violence that lead to. She's asked to get a coded message to Washington. Discovering her bravery and self sufficiency along the way, she discovers she can make a difference in the war and in the lives of those she cares for.

I read this a long time ago and reviewed it for Yorktown's bookstore, and since I've been thinking about Yorktown lately, this came up. I remember liking it, remember it was carried in our bookstore along our Ann Rinaldi novels and whatever nonfiction we had for our younger history enthusiasts.
