The Innocent and The Enforcer

Professionally written and extremely fast-paced, “The Bratva’s Captive” positions two rival Bratva factions against one another, with one member seeking revenge for the murder of his woman. The story opens with the antihero or hero, Maksym being held prisoner and mercilessly tortured by a rival Bratva, “The Thieves”. Although he is rescued by his “Brother’s”, Maksym is devastated by the loss of the woman he loved and seeks revenge by capturing the rival leader’s

The third book in this series was such a good book. It brought all the emotions to the surface. I cried, I laughed, I was ticked off, it hit all the notes for me. Maksym is going to make the man who killed his Taya pay by kidnapping his daughter, Oleana. What he gets is a woman who is damaged, just like he is!!! The story between these two is just freaking awesome and I could NOT put this book down. Jane Henry is my Queen of dark mafia books right now and I'm loving them all. As their ...more
Naughty Mom Story Time
Though The BRATVA’S Captive was a bit predictable, the story was entertaining nonetheless.

Maksym was an easy to love anti-hero. Consumed with loss and vengeance, he was willing to go against his character and pull an innocent into the war he was preparing to fight.

Olena was a heroine I couldn’t help but rally for. She was strong and feisty no matter the situation. Determined to escape her father and survive her current ordeal, she struggled with coming to terms with the two sides of Maksym he

The Thieves of Law

Maksym knows pain, torture, and loss. His woman Taya is murdered and he is taken and tortured for days by a rival bratva. Someone has betrayed him and he will get his revenge!

A lifetime of nightmares seems to be his lot in life now.
Maksym trains relentlessly to avenge his Taya. He is no longer the prisoner, he is the tormentor. Russia is a largely lawless place where might makes right.

Surveillance footage shows Taya's killer to be a Thief of Law, by his tattoo. They are a

My hands were sweating as I read this book. The suspense is intense. There were pages I struggled to get through. But those pages were needed to help understand Maksym's character. Maksym is a tortured soul. His character has so much depth that I found myself routing for him. Olena is one tough girl. She takes everything Maksym has to give and still wants more. Olena is complex, it was hard to figure out where her loyalties were at times. There are so.many surprises in this story, every page ...more

[Ireceived a digital arc for an honest review]

The Bratva's Captive is the second book, but can be read as a standalone, in Jane Henry's Wicked Doms series. This is my favorite of the series so far, I couldn't get enough of Maksym and Olena.

"You accept that death is inevitable, it's when you accept that, that you no longer fear the final blow."

After being rescued by his brothers from being tortured by their enemies Maksym comes back a different man. When the woman he loves pushes him away

Great story, excellent writing, made me happy to read more of the Bratva with the wounded and revenge driven Maksym, taking his tormenter's daughter Olena captive. Yuri, the leader of the Thieves has murdered Maksym's lover Taya and Maksym won't rest until Yuri is dead. Olena is Maksym's captive but not a victim of his, she's been treated badly before she ever met Maksym. There is other danger to be wary of, someone has betrayed the Bratva and will have to pay the price. Olena and Maksym have ...more

God, I am in love with this series. This time we get a captive that doesn't seem to be afraid of her kidnapper and a kidnapper that doesn't seem to want to be a kidnapper.

Maksym is out for revenge, and he knows that the only way to get to the main man of The Thieves is through his daughter Olena. However, Olena isn't going to make anything easy on Maksym even if it gets her into even more trouble then she has ever been.

The emotional rollercoaster these two go through before

When we meet Maksym he's been captured and is being tortured for answers he refuses to give. By the time the Bratva locate and release him, he's severely broken in several places and, like during his capture, refuses to speak. It's decided he will go to America and stay with the former brigadier of the brotherhood and his family in order to fully heal. While recuperating, his entire world changes again. Jane Henry has taken this third book of the "Wicked Doms" series to a whole new emotional ...more

Oh Maksym!! My heart broke for him and everything he went through. To seek his revenge, Maksym decides to take Olena to draw out the man behind his pain. But Olena only seems to make him come alive and his dead heart beat once again. Maksym is dealing with all sorts of emotions while fighting off men who are trying to kill them and they are closer than Maksym realizes. This story is one filled with pain, guilt, anger, love and of course, dominance.
Another great addition to the Wicked Doms

I could not like it.

Olena and Macksym were in an abusive relationship. He would abuse he and blame her for his actions. He would reward her if she did bass he said. Then he would punish her for rebelling. Classical controlling behavior. Macksym promises to love her. In reality,--fat chance! The parts of the Bratva and Thieves' were interesting.

So, after The Bratva's Baby, which featured a human trafficker who kills women, and The Bratva's Bride, whose "hero" hurled abled slurs at a young woman he thought was mentally disabled, I had my fill of Jane Henry (I know she's popular and I know I'm in the minority). I decided to try this one and was relieved that A) there was no human trafficking (at least by the hero), and B) no aspersions directed against any vulnerable populations. In addition, unlike the cold, clinical, financial reasons ...more

Couldn’t get into it.

DNF. I was so enamored with Maksym in the first book of the series - his capture, move to America and then the loss of Taya- that I couldn’t accept he would so easily harm an innocent like Olena. Then the book started just like Larissa and Demsyn’s story with how he kept her captive. That story was so well told for them, it didn’t feel right reading it again for Maksym who deserved more. This is just how it made me feel and is no way a reflection on the quality of the

This was a joke huge misrepresentation supposedly this was a dark romance "Wicked Doms" yeah right Maksyim or however u spell it was like a big teddy bear wanna be Dom. I gave up after he and Olena were together for the first time, the scene was so vanilla it was boring I knew I wouldn't be finishing this story so sorry but it isn't worth my time.

TRUE FEELINGS ARE BORN OF FREEDOM—NOT CAPTIVITY

Once again, Ms. Jane Henry has spun a tale that had me captivated and intrigued as the story unfolds. Not everything is as simple as it seems and the twists and turns along the way will keep you on the edge of your seat. While the story will read well as a stand-alone, it comes soon after the release of Maksym, held captive and tortured by The Thieves, from The Bratva Bride. Now, Maksym is ready to retaliate, and Yuri Baranova’s daughter, Olena will

The Bratva's Captive: A Dark Mafia Romance (Wicked Doms)
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Series: Wicked Doms, Book 3

Another great addition to the Wicked Doms series! No one does the Bratva like Jane Henry, she creates stories that are dark and intense, stories that are completely engrossing and hard to put down. There are characters here that had their own books so reading the series in order is a suggestion. You won’t feel lost if you don’t but you can always catch up after you finish this one.

Maksym Alexeev has a goal that will take a lot of hard work. Olena Baranov is about to experience her father’s world. When using the first person point of view, most authors will title each chapter with the name of the character that is speaking. Here the author doesn’t do that which is fine since I have no

The Bratva’s Captive is the third book in the Wicked Doms series, and while I suggest reading the books in order, it can stand alone. Maksym is trying to heal when he hears devastating news. Now he is only driven by revenge and he doesn’t care who gets in his way, certainly not the daughter of his enemy. Olena is innocent, cares little of her father, and hates that she’s used as a pawn. What will their fate look like as their worlds and passions clash and secrets are revealed?

Let me start by

COMPELLING with all of the grit, SUSPENSE, and STEAMINESS of an epic Bratva Romance! MUST-READ!
If you have never read something written by author Jane Henry, THE BRATVA’S CAPTIVE is the place to start. Not only is THE BRATVA’S CAPTIVE a phenomenal read with a complex and compelling story, but readers may also find that the realism built into the main characters of Olena and Maksym is captivating. Just when I thought Demyan was my favorite of the series, I listen to Maksym's story. This tortured soul is brutally dark, but it's impossible not to fall for him. Reeling off the death of his woman, Maksym is seeking revenge by kidnapping his nemesis's daughter. Little did he know what this woman would do to him. Olena is an incredible character. She too has had a tormented past, has an inner strength that shows through and keeps her going. These two, though from opposites sides of the Bratva ...more

Captivating Read

Maksym and Olena's story is beautifully complex and emotionally stirring that it had me hooked from the first page until the very end. Once again Jane Henry has given us a tale that not only make heat but suspense and feeling that has you dying to see how it all plays out.

Although stand alone, this addition to the Wicked Doms Series gives us glimpses of favourite characters in what is an overall subplot of the Bratva's and it is nice to see familiar faces, some who have already

“Bratva’s Captive” is currently my favorite book in Jane Henry’s Wicked Doms series. It had the right level of dark romance (not too dark or light) coupled with suspense, romance, and storytelling to make this a great page-turner. Likes: One of the things I enjoy with a series is getting to revisit other characters from previous books, even briefly, and we definitely got that this time. I enjoyed the pace of the story—there’s a lot going on and Ms. Henry kept the action moving. The romantic (and ...more

With this third book in the series we get to revisit, Maksym, the character left broken in The Bratva's Bride. Maksym is semi healed and looking for vengeance with the rival Thieves. Olena, daughter to Yuri, leader of the Thieves has been dragged back to Russia, and is in desparate need of a way to escape her father. The taking of Olena is easy, but the captivity leads to more than either Olena or Maksym can possibly anticipate.

This is another well written story in the series. Maksym is so
