A truly funny and wholesome screenplay. It was really nice to see the father so supportive of his son and that it wasn't a big deal. Often times in YA books and teen TV shows the gay characters are played up so you have no confusion that THERE is the gay kid. I'm away people act that way in real life, it was just nice that Jeff just was treated normal.
Also the comedy was great in this screenplay. Dave is such a sticky parent and is a little too comfortable with Jeff's sex life. There's a morning tea gag that had me in stitches.
I enjoyed reading this play for sure. I just don't know if it would have the same novelty reading it again.

A beautifully simple story, truthfully told, about familial love and acceptance in a time which seemed bereft of much acceptance. The foreword by the writer is a salve for aspiring writers everywhere.
