Remember Priest's ex-boyfriend, from the previous books? Yeah, I had to go back and refresh my memory as well, but once I did... I was all team Henri !! He might be my favorite character in this series. The reason I say "might", is because I have no idea how many books are yet to come in this series, and you never know ;)

Now I am all for a delicious bad boy, and Henri definitely delivered on that count. I did feel very sorry for him about the way things ended with Priest...and how...It actually pissed me off a bit, I think Henri deserved more loyalty from Priest, but hey that's me... not everyone might agree here.

So him finding how own white knight ...a cop at that... cheered me right back up !!

Who would have thought, the cop and the bad boy, setting the sheets on fire ;)

gay thouching gif - Google zoeken

But Henri has a past he is keeping secret, and a "sort of job" that Bailey knows nothing about... And he will find out, because he is closer to Henri's "work" than he knows.

I wonder what will happen when everything gets out in the open...guess I won't have to wait too long to find out. Did I mention yet that I hate cliffies and waiting !!!

Charlie David's voice is good, but along the way he mixed up the voices. The story on the other hand? Oi! I felt it was same old - same old erotic Ella signature brand. That said! i don't think i can divorce Ella. I will still read her books, she gave me Logan and Tate. Priest, Julien and Robbie. I squeed every time they appeared here.

description

Henri MC 1 -We met Henri in the previous books, Priest's mysterious ex, kinda bad boy. I love Henri, he has a swag that works. I felt sorry for him though. Priest did a number on him. Good thing that didn't get dragged throughout the book. I glimpses into his past interesting.

Bailey MC 2 - Bailey is a ray of sunshine. For a cop, i expected him to be broody and all serious, but he is the complete opposite. I love him too. I hope his book is going to be entertaining.

Together they work. They have chemistry. Chemistry is important.

I will be reading/ listening the next book, got to know how this ends.

Overall it was an ok read.

Adding to the Confessions series, this fifth instalment changes things up by focusing on new lead characters, Henri and Bailey, who begin an explosive and steamy romance after they develop an unexpected connection when they meet at the wedding of series favourites, Robbie, Priest and Julien.

Beat cop Bailey is a sweet guy just looking for that (so far) elusive connection with another man — the kind of connection that leads to building a happy and shared life with someone special. Henri and his bad-boy image don’t seem the settling down kind, but Bailey can’t deny the unexpected spark of lust and longing that Henri ignites in him, if only he can get to know him a bit better.

Henri, in contrast, is the product of a troubled past, dealing with a traumatic childhood and fighting his entire adult life to escape the lifestyle his crook father raised him in. Lately, Henri’s been trying to get on the straight and narrow, and he certainly can’t deny that Bailey might just be everything he never knew he always wanted. But with Bailey working for the law and Henri having dark secrets he can’t afford to share, it’s hard to imagine how he can make something last with his gorgeous and kindhearted cop... even though he’s coming to realise that he may be willing to risk it all to try.

This story was a bit of a teaser, setting the scene, introducing the characters, and providing just enough in terms of backstory and potential romance, that, even with the somewhat cliffhanger ending, I couldn’t help but be invested in these guys and their growing relationship.

The attraction between Henri and Bailey is palpable from the first moment they lock eyes, and the chemistry between them when they fall into bed is (unsurprisingly) hot like burning. Yet, despite the great sexual spark, it’s in the simple, more vulnerable moments shared between these two men, which really makes for a compelling dynamic, and proves, yet again, to be one of the strengths of Ella Frank’s writing.

Going forward, I’m particularly eager to see how things shake out once Henri opens up about his past and his (more recent) illegal activities — which readers of previous stories in the Confessions series will likely have pieced together at this point. Although shit will undoubtedly become tense and complicated between these two in the next instalment (Bailey), I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how they overcome it all and claim their deserved HEA.

Naturally, I flew through this one, which just goes to show that I should never delay in reading Ella Frank’s books too long after release. No matter my mood and no matter the dramas being faced out in the real world, her stories always provide me with the perfect, sexy, addictive escape, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

Off to read book six I go! <3

I say this about every Ella Frank novel, and it still rings true.

Sensual, lustful, can’t get you off of my mind combustible heat.

Henri is not such a good boy, and when he meets hot cop Bailey, he knows that them hooking up is a very very bad idea.

Bailey doesn’t do one night stands, but he’d gladly ignore his personal rules just this once.

One night is never enough.

As always, the attraction is magnetic, the lust and want are undeniable, and though both Henri and Bailey fight their feelings, their dicks just want to play. The emotions are a bit slow on the uptake, but prepare yourself for the back and forth long seduction that is par for the course.

Frank’s MC’s can never resist each other for too long and giving in is what it’s all about. This does end on a tentative HFN, and I’m sure the conclusion will be just as satisfying as the chase!

Henri was a mysterious character from the previous books, so I was intrigued and was glad to see he was getting a book. Of course, in true Ella Frank fashion, it can't just be one book.

These are guilty pleasure reads for me. Ella Frank isn't for everyone. But they are easy reads, entertaining, lots of tension and chemistry between the MCs. Usually a good bit of steam, low drama.

It's just not much happened in this one. It was drawn out for that 2nd (or 3rd) book.

Will I read the next book? Absolutely. So there you have it. Ella Frank wins.

"Bailey took hold of Henri’s face between his hands. “Just keep being you, because that’s who I want.”

“I don’t know what I did to deserve you. But I sure as hell am gonna do my best to keep you.”

After reading Sean and Kieran's books, I knew I had to read about Bailey's third brother. Finally, I can say that Bailey may be my favorite brother, because how can you not love a man who, despite being a cop, blushes a lot and is the sweetest human being?

At first I thought Henri didn't deserve Bailey, but after reading further, I changed my mind. Mainly because reading Henri's chapters wasn't very enjoyable at first because of all his thoughts about the Priest. Like boy, you have the best and sweetest man in front of you and you think about a guy who "cheated" on you? I get they had some history but I didn’t wanted to read about him simping for someone else but Bailey. At least he get a grip pretty fast.

Now to something good, because reading Henri and Bailey's interaction was quite enjoyable. They had good chemistry and I liked that they couldn't stop thinking about each other. I love how Henri turned Bailey red by flirting with him, and when Bailey said he had butterflies in his stomach, I blushed myself.

“You’re on my mind every minute of every fucking day, Bailey. I want to know where you are, what you’re doing, if you’d answer the phone if I called. That’s why I came over here last night. I couldn’t stay away, and if you knew me, you’d know that’s not normal—I can stay gone. Just not from you, apparently.”

"It was time to let his cop know that he wasn’t done with them yet, not by a long fucking shot."

“I don’t know what kind of spell you put on me, officer. But I can’t stop thinking about you.”

How can you not like Henri when he is like that. Plus this man has piercings as in plural form (you can only imagine where).

I'm so sad I have the last Bailey brothers book to read, I'm going to miss them.

"That's all I want....that's all I need. Another taste of you."

I just don't think I can describe how much I love Ella Frank's writing with the eloquence it deserves. It's so pure and easy to enjoy and get caught up in. Her writing has a certain air of confidence to it for a subject that intrigues me so. I love MM and there aren't many that can write it with such a flair and not sound over-exaggerated. Her ease and grace flows through her words comfortably, and I feel the love, hear the love, gasp at the pain and sneer at the anger - but she gives it ALL to me, unapologetically.

I get a sense of a smiling high. Never have I read one of her books and not felt a sense of peace and love from them. No, not some hippieish style love, but more of one that she put me through some tragedy or some pain, she showed me a love that I could grasp onto - and then she shared with me how her characters achieved their hard fought HEA. I have never walked away without a smile. A sense of calm and wonder because the love that I got glimpses of throughout her story came back full circle and I'm just left in a happy spot.

"Don't hold back. I wanna hear how good you feel. I wanna know that I'm pleasing you."

Described as a lone-wolf bad boy, seeing a vulnerability that only Henri can hold and own is eye-opening. Does he really own it or does he just live with it? I'm not sure I have a definite understanding of that yet. All I know is my heart is with Henri and all that he's been through and going through. I love that Ella was able to infuse this one with as much emotion as she did while still being true to Henri's character as we knew him, but also as we are coming to know him. Of course, now I'm waiting for Bailey's story and that does make me yearn for more.

Because waiting isn't my forte.
And she's making me.
And now I'm sad.
Because I need more.
I want more.

Ok, fiiiiine - I will wait. sigh

I must stress that this can be read as a standalone (first in the duet) in her Confessions series, but you do miss out on the character build-up of Henri as we know him now. Seeing his relationship with Priest beforehand plays a role, but not one that you can't pick up this book and jump right in - because you most definitely can.

Ella Frank is an easy 4-5 star read for me, each and every time. While her stories are always a win for me, understanding her prose is my favorite part. Her words dance and her stories titillate - and I will take every chance I get to make sure I am saving room on my calendar to read her latest releases as they come out. I've read nine of her books since I started reading her in March of last year. The entire Confessions Series and her Fallen Angel Series plus the novella. I am seriously smitten with her words and cannot wait for more.

"Henri was consuming him body and soul, and the more Bailey had of him, the more he wanted."

We're back in Ella's M/M(M) world in Chicago.

Bailey is a cop and we already know that Henri is a bit on the wrong side of the law sometimes. Not really his fault - he was born into it, just like Priest. Only Priest became a lawyer and Henri didn't. But he's now trying to only work for the good side!

Bailey and Henri meet at Priest, Julien and Robbie's wedding. Huge attraction at first sight. But Bailey can't date a semi-criminal (even though he doesn't yet have any idea what Henri does and did!) and Henri will always be in love with Priest, right?

Let the fun times begin!!! ☺

════════════════

description

Well, I liked that.

But just like with Priest's red hair, there's something in here that I just have to complain about first. Henri is this big bad hot biker type in all jeans and black and leather and then he goes and has a NOSE RING??? What???? Why? Never in the history of ever has a nose ring been sexy. Nothing about a nose is sexy period! The worst are those people with the unprettiest of noses - they're more likely to put in a nose ring because they think it will draw attention away from their noses - it doesn't darlings - it only makes it worse! I can live with a lot that I don't love in books. Tattoos. Eyebrow piercings. Red hair if the guy is really manly and hot. But nose rings??? Nope. And I can't even try to just NOT think about it - Henri is half the book - how could I forget I read that part about the nose ring? Ew. No. I almost stopped reading this book when I read that. And that's so sad, because I really like Ella's world with all those guys. Logan, Tate, Priest, Julien, Robbie. And now Bailey and Henri.

The story was really cute.
A cop and a bad guy trying to not fall for each other. Adorable!

I didn't love the fact that almost half the book is about how much in love with Joel Henri is :( It made me feel a bit bad for Bailey - almost as if there's no chance for a happy end. BUT I still really liked reading their story!

I loved that there wasn't any unnecessary drama!!! I adored and hated a few back in time scenes with Henri - I had to cry with him a few times!

It was an adorable and sparky and sexy and fun and exciting first book - can't wait to see where their story will take us in book #2!!

I also loved Bailey's best friend/ex Xander and Bailey's brother(s) - I hope there'll be more spin-offs!!!

Also - this cover is by far my favorite in this series! ♥

I have been curious about Henri since I met him previously to do with Robbie, Priest and Julien so I was excited to start this and finally get to know him better.

I enjoyed this, the sexual chemistry was STRONG between Henri and Bailey, I could feel the sexual tension coming off each page when they got together even sitting in a booth it was crackling between them and the sex was dirty and hot.

I loved when Henri and Bailey are at The Popped Cherry and Robbie and Priest turn up, I found that really sexy and OF COURSE I LOVED when Henri meets Logan Mitchell.

But I have got mixed feelings as I don’t feel like I got to know them very well throughout this, it felt to me like Henri and Bailey spent most of the time in their heads thinking about each other and their feelings, not communicating much as Bailey still does not know what Henri does for a living, neither do I really maybe a PI?

This was going to be a 3* for me until the final chapter when I got to FINALLY find out what happened on THAT night.

This does happen to me with EF books ratings go up and down, Bailey book 6 in this series will probably be a 5* read just wait and see.

4 stars!! L❤️VED it!! 💕 Ms Frank can write slow and steamy so very well.. 💕 and she always leaves you wanting more..😢
When the story starts, Henri is still pining for Priest (to be honest, Henri hadn't really registered as a character in the previous Confessions series.. how can anyone? when you have Priest, Julien and Robbie as the MCs😳😍) and although he's attending the trio's wedding, his heart is heavy💔. Despite the instant chemistry between him and Bailey (who he meets for the first time at the wedding) he decides not to hook-up and leaves abruptly. Weeks later, both having not forgotten their flirtatious encounter, meet again when Bailey, a cop by profession; stops Henri on the road on a rainy night. The chance encounter leads them to go on a non-date 😉 and finally hook-up 💞but with an understanding that this would be the only time. However, the two ignite such an inferno of passion 🔥💓🔥that Henri is unable to stay away. Despite the many secrets he's keeping from Bailey (that he has had a very checkered past in addition to the fact that he may be working for Bailey's detective brother to get information on a criminal) he's powerless against Bailey's smiles.
But with such big secrets between them, can they have a normal relationship?🙄 Will Henri ever be ready to confess all to Bailey? 😳Is Henri prepared for the eventual fallout with Bailey when his past work and present assignment comes to light? 🤔I suppose we will all have to wait for Bailey (Confessions #6) to get some answers. 😁 This book is mostly meet-n-greet with some sweet build-up💕 and I can feel that it has barely scratched the surface of what Henri and Bailey's story is going to be. But, I can't wait to do a deep dive on how Henri unravels, how Bailey saves him from his demons and how they finally find their HEA. 💖
Last but not the least, I absolutely loved 💖the cameos from Logan😍, Robbie and Priest. I do wish this was longer.. but since the sequel is out next month I'm slightly mollified 😬. Highly recommended to all fans of Ms Frank and all who loved the Confessions series 👍👍. Although a separate story from the first 4 in the series, in order to maintain continuity and understanding it would be helpful to read them before starting this one. 😍👍

***** More of what we love about this whole series from Ella Frank.
This tale is for Henri, gorgeous, pierced bad boy

with intense dark eyes and dark hair. He's Joel/Priest's ex,
a muscled tough guy who has had some very rough times in life. He's gone to Priest, Julien and Robbie's wedding ceremony, where he meet Craig Bailey, the cop who helped round up Robbie for Priest and Julien in the last book.
"Bailey," as everyone calls him, who is chiseled and strong,

has a crew cut and sparkling blue eyes, that intrigue Henri. They nearly had a one-niter, but that came a bit later. Neither man could get the other off of his mind. The attraction was mutual.
When they do have a first dinner date, they don't eat, but race home for a sizzling, spectacular sexy night. It's unbridled sex, raw, passionate, full of hands, mouths, and moans...

Eight days later, a phone call turns them upside down again, wanting more and more. Henri does feel like his past is too tainted for Henri, but cannot stay away. They talk, tell their stories, snippets of truth are spoken, but Henri has more to tell. Henri gets news that helps him feel lighter, when someone from his past is gone.

We see flashbacks that help us understand the horrible past of Henri. We feel their deep emotions, the scorching sexy times, and the smoothly told story. They are a breath away from "love" when we get a cliffhanger ending.

I am on pins and needles while I await the next story, because it continues with these special men, Bailey and Henri, and their future relationship. What will cop Sean Bailey say?

Highly recommended. ENJOY !

I love this book! Henri has a questionable past. Bailey is a cop. Together they are HOT! The question is can they make things work. I was so excited when I saw this book was releasing soon. I love that we get a few interactions from Priest, Julian, and Robbie, even Logan. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I have loved all these characters for so long. I’m dying to know what happens next. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

4,5 stars for hottie HENRY! This book is just a glimpse of something big to come.

Dirty.
Sexy.
H.O.T.

A cop.
An outlaw.
Did I say trouble?
Yes TROUBLE .
But Henry deserves all of it.
These two together!

This was really good!
Henry is chasing after Bailey most of the book.
Two men attracted by each other on the first sight.
One night stand.
Then they want more of each other.
This is just the beginning between these two.
This book is totally about LUST but that's ok because Henry is something. He got a big history. Bailey can't start to imagine what Henry get through. This story is gonna take time to tell, weeks to trust someone enough to share it.
I really love Henry! He reminds me so much of Priest. He's fighting for his freedom. He wants to become a better man. His biggest enemy is HIM because he just doesn't believe in himself. That's a shame. If Priest came out, he can too.

I hope the relationship between Priest and Henry will get better with time. Watching these two together was totally touching. They've come a long way. Henry can get his HEA too. There is no better revenge against their fathers than their happiness.

I really can't wait for the next book! So much things will blow up! I hope it's gonna be ok between these two because TROUBLE is coming! Big trouble. Like I say: This is just a beginning!

« Henri was looking up at him as though Bailey had just handed him the moon, and he was so beautiful, and so very real in that moment, that Bailey knew whatever was happening was special. It was something he was going to fight to hang on to if he had to, and it was that knowledge, that deep-seated truth—that he could really come to love this man—that finally hurtled him over the edge and tumbled the two of them straight into the euphoria that waited on the other side. »

Love it.
And I can't say it more: these guys are H.O.T. Ella Frank 😏

I am fascinated by Henri and hope we get even more insight into what makes him tick when Ella releases the companion book to this one Bailey in October.

This one is a curious mix of smoking hot scenes and lots of I shouldn't do this angsting on the parts of both Henri and his cop (and I'd like a quid please for the number of times those two words appeared together in a sentence 😉 ) but it never became too much.

There's some background to Henri and Priest's early life when they were both trying to stay out of the way of their vicious fathers, there's a fair bit of growly Priest too when he realises his ex is now involved with Bailey and there's a guest appearance from Logan which I appreciated.

The main secondary plot concerns Henri trying to get on the straight and narrow and I'm very much on tenterhooks for seeing what's going to happen when those two parts of his life crash as I'm sure is on the cards.

All in all, though short, this is a nice little appetiser to the rest of the Confessions series.

4.5 stars!

As someone who did not read the previous four books, I wasn't lost that much at all during this and anything I didn't know I was able to catch up on. So if you're like me and didn't read the previous four books, you can totally pick up this one about Henri and Bailey and not be lost. (Also we get to see Logan for a second and that made me happy. I always want more Logan and Tate, it turns out. Short snippets of their life together would be quite fun to see *nudge nudge* *wink wink*)

I enjoyed Henri and Bailey a lot in this, and like most, if not all, of Ella Frank's books, they had scorching chemistry and I just adored them together. They had a great connection from their first interaction onward.

I found this to be well paced, like they aren't at "I love you" yet but they're getting there, and it wasn't love at first sight, although it was very much lust at first sight, which is fine with me. But to see them deepen their connection as the book went on was a treat to see.

I very much enjoyed this and will be looking forward to the next installment to - apparently - finish out these two and their story. Can't wait! Two thumbs up from me!

I wanted Henri's own story since I 'met' him in the previous story about Priest, Julien and Robbie.
I knew there had to be a story behind that attitude toward Priest. I was right, of course.
Now I love Henri a little bit more, and side glare at Priest a little bit more.
Though this book ended with a cliffhanger, I'm glad it's only need a hot cop to make Henri forget about a Priest.

Henri 🥵

I love him already, always like the troubled, broody bad boys😂 and Bailey is just too cute, a definite dark and broody/light and sunshiny pairing but I really like them together.

I liked seeing more about Henri because he definitely intrigued me in the previous books, but my only complaint is how short this book was compared to the others! I wanted more!!

I think you can read as a standalone if you want to, but there's a lot of history between Henri and Priest that is talked about in both books - it's not impossible to follow, but you wouldn't have all the smaller details.

Ready for Bailey, but again it's a shorter book so I feel like I'll still want more!

I LOVE this series and the characters so much and I couldn’t wait to read Henri’s story!

I really enjoyed getting to know Henri better and it broke my heart to see how much and how long he has loved Priest. I was hoping so badly that he’d find someone who appreciates him and loves him back.
Bailey is amazing. He’s such a good guy and has a huge heart. He’s perfect for Henri 💙

Well hello there Henri. I must confess you weren’t at all who/what I was imagining, but I’m not even mad about it! I loved your vulnerability and the softer side of you we got to see in this story. You are such a contradiction- all dark and broody and pierced on one hand, on the other this unguarded, hopeful, slightly broken man. I’m not going to say anything more about you, though- I want people to discover all the facets of the man that is Henri Boudreaux themselves!

Henri’s story was so much more than expected- in really the best ways. It was so touching, and much more emotional and heartfelt than previous interactions with the man would have led us to believe. I loved getting a look into Henri’s past, to see what made him into the man he is today. And I really loved seeing him so unsure of himself when it came to Bailey. I thought these two were great together, even as opposite as they are. This is a definite slow-burn/slow-build when it comes to a relationship between Henri and Bailey- there’s some avoidance and back and forth, from both of them. But when things come together, the pay-off is definitely worth it!

I’m really looking forward to Bailey’s book, as there’s a lot left to be discovered and revealed.

This scene literally brought tears to my eyes

Priest’s hand tightened and he pulled Henri into a fierce hug that was as unexpected as it was out of character...
Henri shut his eyes and held on tight, somehow knowing this would probably be the last time he shared a moment like this with Priest.
“I’m so fucking happy for you right now.”
“So happy you’re smiling?” Henri said, and when Priest pulled away and looked at him, there was a brilliant smile on those usually serious lips.

I’ve been waiting to get to know the mysterious Henri, since recently reading the previous books in this series. He did not disappoint. My heart was hurting for him. Lucky for him and me, he found Bailey, who was just what he needed. Book ended with a HFN. So if you’re wanting that HEA, you may want to wait for the next book. I can’t wait!

Glad that I finally make time to read Henri's book. I know him as Priest's mysterious ex, who gave off this bad boy vibe. In this book when I finally get to know him better, especially those flashback of Henri's sad past, he needs to get the HEA he deserved. Also, I want to give an evil glare towards Priest for hurting him so badly. Grr....

The last thing, I expect is for Henri to be pair up with a cop. Officer Craig Bailey is such a... good man, I suppose and Henri isn't exactly a model citizen. Things could get dicey if Bailey know about the truth and I can't wait it to happen. Being totally smitten is a good look on Henri. He used to spend so much time pining over Priest, which is just sad. I love the fact that Henri is all in and wanted to woo Bailey. He didn't let his past to hold him back from pursuing his happiness. Can't wait for the sequel to see how their relationship progress after Bailey learned about his past.

3.5 Stars for Henri; not such a bad guy

I’m liking the chance to see Henry get his happy ending although it wasn’t in this book but Bailey’s book will do that I’m sure. It was hot enough but the UST level didn’t come across for me. Henri was tugging at my heartstrings while reminiscing over his and Priest’s past. There was sort of a slow burn and I liked how the author added space between their meeting and actually hitting the sheets. Hopefully Bailey will become a stronger character in the second book as well as more consistent. My initial impression didn’t mesh with how submissive he seemed later in the story. Just my impression and I look forward to the next book.

Very excited that we didn't have too long of a wait between Henri and Bailey! I held off on reading this one until Bailey was out, so I could read both as one long book. And I'm glad I did that - because honestly? This probably could be one book.

Look, I love Ella and I love her stories and I love her men. And Henri and Bailey bring the fire when they are together. But, once you get past their attraction to each other, how different they are, and a few great cameos from Logan, Robbie, Julian, and Priest - it's almost like a whole lot doesn't happen in this story? And for a whole book between Henri and Bailey, I still feel like I don't know them very well as characters. I'm hoping that going into Bailey's story, it will give more insight to who he is.

Starting Bailey right now!
