The story is a little bit different & to be honest, I didn't find it particularly believable that the cool kids, or any other kind really, would be so willing to put themselves out for a new kid (among other things that happen), but I'm the kind of reader who can roll with a story, if it's not too incredible, so long as the author writes it believably, and she did a great job with it. I enjoyed it and will likely be reading the next book.

The story had tons of potential, but there was just very little depth. I really liked the idea of each of the characters, but they weren't given the time to be fleshed out like they needed. The story's plot was interesting enough, but formulaic--it rushed from beginning to end hitting all the right points, but not lingering anywhere important. I guess I just wanted more.
I really enjoyed reading this. I breezed through it in three hours.. and one sitting... it’s fine 😏
Sophie really resonated with me. Finding who you are when you’ve been uprooted and reinvented so many times is hard, if not nearly impossible. I loved reading her story.
