Unremarkable book notable to me for one thing, which is the last two pages: a phenomenon that has been happening all novel long (without much effect on me, but certainly with consistency) is repeated one last time, and due to the circumstances I found it effective and deft. It was like listening to a piece of music that built nicely on a theme I didn't particularly care for.
A bleak story about a policeman whose action unintentionally lead to the death of two people. His personal life and his professional life are both a mess. There is quite a lot of violence and some unpleasant descriptions of cruelty to animals. Not a book to read if you want cheering up.
