Eva

The world dulled when you decided the fate of my future. Our son speaks of you as a
superhero, and I grapple with the idea I wasn’t good enough to keep you here, safe—with us. I spend my days working to support our son, and my nights turn into one endless string of reckless decisions because reality provides no comfort. The truth of the situation buried deep down, since

A beautifully written story I highly recommend. This is a sensitive subject especially in as it is about the family and friends who are left behind after a suicide. Heartbreaking and real.

The prequel, In the Surf, focuses on the best friend, Liam. How he sifts through the immediate aftermath, questioning how he missed the signs leading up to his best friends suicide.

The new release, Along the Shore, is Eva’s (the widow) story. How tries she live after her husband is gone. Her own depression an

A fabulous 5star (it deserves many more) read of the year for me.

A read so full of angst and high emotions about learning how to navigate through life again after a tragedy strikes.

Eva, in a downward spiral has met her match in Reece, who has been smitten from afar but also just as stubborn with only the best intentions. Cue the swooning and grab some Kleenex. Chivalry is not dead here as fate puts him in some choice places at the right times.

A must read for lovers of older woman, younger man

Heart wrenching, yet beautiful!

Maggie Jane Schuler has such a talent to describe heartbreaking, life changing events in such a powerful way that you feel you are in the heads of those experiencing the situations. The words just flow over the pages, highlighting emotions of anger, frustration, self doubt, guilt and love, along with all of the insecurities that come along with what Eva had to deal with and are brought to life in this wonderful story. I loved reading about Chase and Jenna their gro

JUST WOW!!! Maggie has written another absolutely beautiful story with heartbreak and angst that pulls at your heartstrings. After losing the love of her life to suicide, Eva spirals down into a dark depressed place where her decisions and life choices are making a negative and dangerous impact in her life. Reece is her saving grace.... he's wiser than his 23 years and he will do what ever he can to bring Eva back to life. This story is very touching, dealing with how to let go and move on after ...more

I'm not sure where to begin. This book was just so well written. So many emotions and feelings. Maggie Jane Schuler does an excellent job of bringing those emotions and feelings out in her characters. Along the Shore follows Eva from In the Surf. Her spiral into self hatred and loathing after her husband's suicide, and her battle in finding acceptance of Byron's choice and how to move on and live her life to its fullest for not only herself but her son as well. Eventually, finding peace, content ...more

Maggie Jane Schuler is a wife, mother of three almost grown children, and teacher by day. While she has always loved to read, the thought of writing her own prose did not strike until she was in the middle of writing her Master’s Thesis. From that point on she was hooked.

She Resides in Southern California. Besides the family and books, she loves baseball. Since the Dodgers, Angels, and Padres are
