- My Description -
This one has a collection of unsolved mysteries.
A mix of science fiction & horror mini-stories.
Even includes the tales of The Crystal Skull & of The Mothman of West Virginia.
- My Review -
Whether the stories are actually true or not, I found this book entertaining.
I even have some personal favorites among the stories.
It's a quick easy fun read.

Like many of the books in my Margaret Ronan collection, it's really hit and miss, and lots of the stories are problematic. However, this one has some really good spooky stuff!

Fun "true" tales of the unexplained and supernatural, written for older kids/YA. I was surprised that, while fictionalized for (usually corny) dramatic effect, these little stories are often based on actual historical accounts. Not all of them are easily researchable, but I found a whole bunch of them that had more expansive wikipedia entries. I would have never come across these weird tales if not for this little book.

I remember being terrified reading this book as a child. Gef the talking mongoose really freaked me out for some reason.

I've had this little book since I was in the fourth grade back in the 70's. I've always enjoyed the short stories in it and hope to find it someday as an ebook since my copy is falling apart now. :(

I loved the book it had 28 small horror mysteries. It was an old house,a mysterious house, and it was on Hill Street for more than 100 years. The last owner Said they heard noises and more stuff happened. My favorite part was in Glendale, Illinois in 1914. In this part the people saw a bird and they called it Moth Man.I would recommend this to teens that love horror and mysteries.
