In the macho world of baseball, it sometimes takes a woman to bring it all home.

Emerson is used to the innuendos; that’s what you get for working in a man’s world. What she’s not used to is feeling unbridled attraction to one of the players on the baseball team that she works for. And that just won’t do.

Alvarez loves ladies, but only for one night at a time. He hasn’t met

This over the top story draws you in with Alvarez and Emerson's antics. Emerson works in a mans world and is taken for granted. Alvarez is a ladies man he has a love them and leave them attitude which doesn't go well with Emerson therefore leaving a bad first impression. He is determined to gain Emerson's attention. Neither was perfect and in the end will it be lack of communication and assumptions that ruin what could possibly be a beautiful relationship?

"He wished so fervently that she was his. He wanted nothing as badly as he wanted her - not even baseball."

John Alvarez is a self-confessed manwhore. There's always a willing ball bunny to jump into bed with. However, from their first meeting, he seems to severely suffer from foot-in-mouth, and it seems to set the tone for the rest of their interactions.

"She was hopelessly attracted to him. The problem was she didn't know what to do with those feelings."

Emerson might have noticed Alvarez for his

This is the 3rd book in the Boys of Summer seris (0-2). As with the previous two, Williams did an amazing job of building up and inter-twining not only the characters, surroundings, and feelings of Somerville but the drama and emotions of the story. Alvarez and Emerson were both strong, derermined, goal driven people. They were honest and treated people with respect. Neither was perfect, and those imperfections created issues for their relationship. Alvarez did not make a good first impression w ...more

I really do love the Boys of Summer series by the talented A.M. Williams, and it may be because I LOVE me some baseball as well as romance, so it's a dual threat for me to make it so awesome! This story surrounds Emerson, who is doing her best to make it in a mans world, a boys club if you will, and it doesn't always go smoothly that's for sure. And the other half it surrounds is Alvarez, who doesn't do repeats with the ladies, as it's one & done for him, so obviously, he's a real playboy. H ...more

“I was dying to read Alvarez’s story! I expected a lot of this story and I’m more than excited to said that it didn’t disappointed me. This is the second book in the Boys of Summer series.

I must said that Emerson was a hard character to like. She was so annoying most of the time. Her reactions were over exaggerated and made me seriously wanted to throw something because of her. It was extremely hard for me to connect with her, until the last chapters I managed to like her. On the other side we

Second in the series and just as good as the first one. I am not a big fan of baseball. But I absolutely love these books. Why you ask? Because this storyline is so much more than just baseball. It is about two amazing characters who cant seem to figure out they are meant for each other. One is a man whore who doesn't want to change his ways. The other is a woman who is working in a man's world and is scared to take the leap into a relationship. But put them together and hold on because things a ...more

Fabulous read! Alvarez loves the single life and playing baseball. He dedicates his life to the game and has no time for long term relationships. Before he meets Emerson face to face, he manages to assume she’s a man. It becomes painfully obvious to him she’s not, especially when he takes in her beauty. Emerson knows the reputation Alvarez has with the ladies and decides to avoid him. He relentlessly chased her, wanting to date. She gets to know him first and decides to give him a chance. I love this series. I couldn’t wait to read Alvarez’s story, and it surely didn’t disappoint.
In the previous books he was very much portrayed as a player. And that certainly followed on at the start of this book.
Emerson was a hard character to like. To say she overthought everything is an understatement. Her overreactions with John had me wanting to throw my kindle at something really hard. I know his reputation played in to that..... but c’mo

Emerson is going by her full name rather than the girly nickname she's always used. It's hard enough being taken seriously as a woman in her field. Alvarez is a hot catcher and man-whore extraordinaire. He makes a very poor first impression when he meets Emerson, and she completely rebuffs his apology. He know she wants her, even after he realizes that she's not a one-night stand type of woman. After they get to know each other, her walls start to crumble. But she keeps putting her foot in her m ...more

This is the first book I’ve read in the Boys of Summer series (it’s book 3 but works fine as a stand alone) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the amazing chemistry between Emerson and Alvarez. I also loved that neither were perfect which created issues in their relationship (even before it began!) that they had to work through to get to that happy ending that we all love. This was really well written and you see the story from both Emerson and Alvarez’s points of view. The book really pulls y ...more

While this is listed as the third book in this series it is actually the third as there is a prequel as well. There are overlapping characters across the series but each individual story is a stand alone

This is Emerson and Alvarez's story She is a woman that works in a man s world she is either totally ignored or is hit on all the time She has heard about Alvarez's hit him and run lifestyle and wants nothing to do with it. He does try to apologise but she has made up her mind and won't give him

Doubts and bad reputation
Very good romance, tender, with good main characters gnawed by their doubts because of their reputation and fear of a serious relationship and who learn to know each other despite many snags to this trust.
Alvarez is a baseball player who has never had a serious relationship beyond a night and meets Emerson, their new marketing director. From the beginning, their relationship is conflictual, and although attracted by each other, Alvarez's reputation and the way he behaves

John Alvarez is a player both on the ballpark and with the ball bunnies. Emerson is the new marketing person for the Spartans. The first meeting between the two of them doesn’t go well. But despite the animosity, they are drawn to each other.
I loved how A.M. Williams developed the characters and drew you in to fall in love with these two. Emerson has to fight her own devils as well as her attraction to Alvarez. Things get bumpy for a while, but in the end they learn that communication is key.

I enjoyed this new "Boys of Summer" story! Another good baseball romance. The story is nicely written and developed. Love the characters. Emerson and Alvarez are eventually great together but lots of push/pull and ups/downs to get there. He has truly met his match when he meets her. He is a player who can get anyone he wants. She is trying to make it in a man's world. Will they make it to a happy ever after?

Emerson wants to be taken seriously as head of marketing for the local baseball team. But at the first meeting she held, she walked in on a player saying she was probably a fat, balding man.

Alvarez gets under her skin and she is seriously attracted to him. Can she see past his Playboy status and give him a chance?

Fun read! You are rooting for them all the way!

This is the second book in the Boys of Summer series. It was wonderful written. I enjoyed the characters I thought they had good chemistry. It was easy to read and kept my interest through out the story. I look forward to reading the next book by this author.

I am loving this series. I get hooked on the characters and seeing previous characters pop up as well. The story flows so well that you get invested in the characters. The chemistry is sizzling and you can't help but not be able to put the story down until you've devoured it.

I am loving this series and this book made that love a little bit more. This author knows how to weave a group of different people together and still have that one couple that you love. And Emerson and Alvarez was that couple in this book. These 2 were so different and yet they were drawn to each other in ways that the other couples weren't. Can't wait to see what the next books couple is.

A.M. Williams is just a simple girl from the south that found herself living abroad. When she’s not annoying her cat or reading, she’s spending time with her husband and traveling as much as possible. She has a serious case of wanderlust and wants to go as many places as possible while she can. She loves Cheerwine, sweet tea, and North Carolina (eastern style) BBQ as well as those crystal clear wa ...more
