Wow, amazing, fantastic, fabulous, absolutely loved it ❤️

Yesenia always delivers and never disappoints! This is a different kind of story in this series, it can be read as a stand-alone.

This is about Adam, Wes’ older brother, Wes who is the main character in Book 5 of the series.
Adam is in his first year of college, he is smart and kind but since his parents are not rich he has to work in the tutition where he helps fellow students with their maths questions.
With his tutoring, assignments and exams, Adam hardly has the time to spend time with friends, but there is one girl who he has been crashing for a long time and he would spend time with her as much as he can.
The problem? She already has a boyfriend.
Adam knows he lost his chance with Sara ever since she met Brian in high school, and they seem to be strongly in love. He is happy for her but he can’t help the strong feelings he still has for her.

But one night at the tutoring could somehow change it.

Brooklyn has been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Ethan for 3 years. But he is not the same guy she fell in love with. They are constantly arguing and bickering over the smallest thing, and she knows it is unhealthy for both of them but she can’t help but think that if she doesn’t fight for this relationship, 3 years of her life would have gone to waste.

And due to these issues, she has been failing calculus badly, and is at risk of repeating the unit. But with the help of a handsome student who sees maths as basic, he could help her pass it. But is she willing to let him in and help her with other issues?

Both are suffering but will Adam open his heart for someone else? And will Brooklyn allow Adam to help her ? Or will she close him off and stay in a toxic relationship ?

This books deals with certain themes, such as toxic relationships, heartbreak and suffering, pain, but also forgiveness, and strong friendships. You will fall in love with many of the characters in the book! Definitely worth reading

What was that saying? Nice guys finished last. Maybe that was my problem. I was too nice. But I would rather be too nice than a total jerk.

It sucked to love somebody and not have that person feel the same way about you.

For some reason, I could not get into this book and I couldn’t get behind this relationship. At first, it’s not like I didn’t like Adam and Brooklyn together, it’s just I didn’t really connect with both characters being together. As I’m reading this book, I like Adam more and more and I ended up loving Adam but not liking Brooklyn. I don’t like what she did to Adam. I felt like she led him on for so freaking long. Adam deserves better than Brooklyn. I kept reading this book because of Adam. I don’t know where to rate this book. I want to rate it as 3 stars for Adam but I also want to rate it was 2.5 for Brooklyn.

Contains: kisses and a toxic relationship

This is not a sweet romance. It is an infuriating book. I’m sure there are people like Brooklyn out there who stay in a relationship because of the time they’ve invested in it, or they once loved the person, or whatever but it was a toxic relationship that had been unhealthy for a while. I didn’t really get the idea that our MCs were #meanttobe since they didn’t spend a lot of time alone together talking or connecting or whatever. Even the end doesn’t focus on them. I just wish Adam found a girl who loved him for him and not because he was the first nice boy she’s interacted with in a while.

Glad Brooks finally realize that she & Adam was #MeantToBe _ which was clearly towards the end of the book!

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

***** There are a few spoilers throughout this review******

To her (Brooklyn) long enough to understand both she and Ethan wasn't right for each other. Clearly, their relationship was toxic, and they continued trying to make something work that wasn't going to work out in the end. Even Shelley and Adam tried to tell her that, but clearly, neither Ethan nor Brooklyn could see.

Ethan parents were just horrible, but it still didn't give him the right to treat Brooklyn like crap and blame her for the things that she didn't do. Clearly, he saw things that weren't true... though it was kind of thing going on between Adam and Brooklyn but not really!

I was irritated at how Brooklyn string Adam along. Like he couldn't catch a break and confessed that he actually cared about her, but she was to blind to see what was right in her face because she wanted things to work out between her and Ethan. Heck, it took them (Ethan and Brooks) half of the book to actually break up for good; which it only happened because he was moving to New York. If he wasn't, I think they would've ended up together. When clearly they weren't good for one another. & in the end they both learned that and both found themselves once they both ended the relationship well more, so Brooks did.

That led to Ethan finding Hannah who was good for him and will marry her in the end... it was good that he wrote her what he wrote her that was something that she clearly needed to her. & also it's good that she FINALLY realizes that Adam made her happy as well unlike when she was with Ethan who didn't make her smile she was also sad with him and always smiling and happy when she was around Adam.... glad it FINALLY took her to get her man; with the help of Shelley..

P.S. btw I didn't realize who Wes was until in the book it stated "Wes has a thing for his best friend sister" I'm like ah... I know who Wes is and now I think Adam was mentioned in the book with Wes and Rey.... which he was right "hope his brother ended up with the girl" which he (Wes) clearly did... finally!!!

This was a sweet and clean romance book. This book is about Adam, Wes's older brother who is the main character in the previous book-#BreakingTheRules. Adam is a smart and kind college freshman who is trying to balance his homework, tests, his job as a tutor, and volleyball while trying to get over his love for his best friend, Sara. He proclaimed his love for her but she chose someone else, who she is in love with. He is happy for her, but he can't stop the strong feelings for her. That is until he meets Brooklyn.
Brooklyn has been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Ethan, for about 3 years. Brooklyn and Ethan fight more than they get along over the smallest stuff. She fights herself internally because she knows that their relationship is unhealthy, but doesn't want to throw away 3 years together. Because of this consistent fighting, breaking and making up, she is failing calculus and undecided whether she wants to drop the class. The instructor suggests tutoring before she decided to drop it. That's when she meets Adam, her tutor.

Adam opens up his heart to Brooklyn begging her to see how toxic her relationship with Ethan is and to choose him. But he ends up crushed yet again when she chooses someone else, just like Sara did. Brooklyn eventually learns to love herself before she can love anyone else. In the end, love always wins.

This was such a great read. I recommend the whole series of these books.

**Just want to point out that there were several word misspellings, missing words, double words that were a little distracting.

I’m trying to decide what to say about this because I feel the affection for the author and the previous books in the series making it hard for me to write anything harsh. So I’m going to keep it brief and mention that the writing was fantastic and my dislike really stems from personal preference and my extreme dislike of Insta love.

What I really liked about this book was the portrayal of abusive relationships. I’ve never been in one but I know the “why don’t you just leave” is a popular narrative. And this book really focused on dissecting that and trying to understand why Brooklyn might be holding on to Ethan and why she can’t just break up with him. That fact brought this to a two star.

HOWEVER I did not like Adam and Brooklyns relationship. It happened really fast and their kiss was random. Both of them were struggling with relationships and suddenly they just have feelings for each other? Not to mention Adam didn’t respect her position or try to understand her at all—he shouldn’t have tried to date her. SHE WAS NOT READY. And she should have respected him enough to not kiss him in the first place.

Overall just disappointed.

This one was okay, but it felt more like the romance between Brooklyn and Ethan than anything else.

I loved Adam, but I had a hard time connecting with Brooklyn. I get that it's hard to move on from a long relationship once you break up, but the way she was clinging to her toxic ex... I just didn't like her very much.

This was intense! Brooklyn's situation is one all too familiar. I've had friends who stayed in a failing relationship just out of fear of being alone. Getting hurt over and over and being miserable, but I learned that no matter how much I thought I was helping, I couldn't convince them to leave it. They had to do that on their own. Brooklyn is so strong for doing what was best for Her. I love that. Adam is so sweet. The snippet in #BreakingTheRules had me dying to know his story and I'm glad I read it. Although he really wanted to be with her, he did the right thing and didn't push Brooklyn. He let her go and she came back to him (insert heart eyes)! Such an amazing story. Looking forward to more.

It sucked to love somebody and not have that person feel the same way about you.

this book is part of the best friends forever series though it doesn't involve most of those characters so technically it didn't have to be and could have been considered a standalone because you didn't really need to read any of those books first (though they are all good and worth reading). it has a strong positive message to not stay in a failing relationship for fear of being alone because it might make you miss out on what might be something better that may be right in front of you otherwise. the books in this series are clean romances and sometimes feel that they are geared towards a younger audience than myself, but they are still worth reading if you want a quick and light, easy read.

Loved it!

Truly a 5 star book! I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I have read the #BFF series but this book seemed more meaningful. Adam and Brooklyn’s relationship took so long because neither one of them was ready. Both of them needed time to get over past loves and it was kinda frustrating to see this slow progress, in the end it was worth it.

I was so confused at the start of this book, I couldn’t figure out how it was linked to the #BBF gang, but loved it all the same. Then everything finally clicked into place for me at the end🤔 yep took me awhile. Loved it all the same❤️❤️❤️

This book was so cute! I think Adam and Brook are so relatable. You really feel for both of them. They made mistakes but neither of them deserve to be unhappy.

I especially liked Adam, the nice guy who almost always finished last.

this didn't have the same vibes as the ones before. i kind of despised the two main characters, ngl. the only saving grace was the dual narration. but it was like trudging through muck. just…the characters are insufferable…

It wasn't my favorite because I don't like how each chapter was a different character. It got really confusing with all the different characters in the book

Glad we got that out of the way. Lord knows i skipped a lot of pages. #MeantToBe isn't like the rest of the#BFF series. It wasn't all that fun to read.

Deducted 1 star for so many grammatical errors. It interrupted my reading flow. Still an excellent story and I would recommend it.

Ugh I just hated the back and forth, back and forth. Who cares how long you’ve been with someone when you are miserable? If you’re always fighting and breaking up then maybe you’re not meant to be

<3~~ HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PAGE TURNER... LEAVES YOU CRAVING MORE 💓~~<3

I love that even though this is a YA book and stayed true to our beloved series, it also dealt with a new level of issues and situations that are difficult for everyone and that anyone can learn from at any age. Things like is it really worth staying in a relationship because of the amount of time you’ve already invested into it? Do the sacrifices the other person has made for you mean you’re forever in debt, should put up with anything and stay in the relationship no matter what? Did those sacrifices truly come from love if they are constantly thrown back in your face as a reason to stay?

How far should you go to save a relationship because you really care about the other person and you’re afraid to hurt them? On the other end, there’s the question should you really be close friends with a person you have romantic feelings for when they don’t feel the same way or are you repeatedly stabbing an open wound by doing that?

These questions seem simple to answer from the outside looking in but when it’s actually happening to you it’s anything but simple. The way these issues are handled in the story is masterful and the ending is definitely not rushed which makes it more authentic. I hope to read more about them in the future and watch them grow.

Sweet Clean YA story.
I liked that this story was a little different with Brooklyn struggling with her relationship with her 'on-off boyfriend ' of 3 years. For once the relationship wasn't shown as being perfect, they struggled and argued, and it was hard to read about her dealing with all that was happening with the boyfriend. While Adam was their on the sidelines. Adam was trying to move on from being in love with his best friend Sara. Which was a little hard being at the same college and in classes together.
I kinda struggled with Brooklyn's indecision between the ex and Adam. I did wanna shake some sense into her with the amount of times she went back to him, and was clearly unhappy. Eventually she gets her head out of her butt, but not before hurting Adam multiple times. But being the nice guy he is he waits, not ready to move on from again from not being someone's 1st choice.

I had a hard time with this one, I get the writer is writing a clean YA, but they are in college. It felt a little too middle/high school.

I don't understand how Ethans family didn't know who she was. They were together 3 years.

I also didn't like how Adam begged her to pick him, when she was STILL with Ethan. Grow some manballs, she picked Ethan, move on.

I didn't feel anything for any of the characters, actually scratch that I actually liked Ethan, strangely enough, I feel like with his family, I sympathized more with him, he felt like the most real character of all of fake plastic characters in the book.

I was gifted this book in arc form for an honest review.

I don't want to give anything away but I do feel for Adam he finds the girls he likes but he's never there number one choice, you will have to read the book to see if Adam finally gets the girl.

Another brilliantly written book. Keep the books coming girl there excellent.

I liked it

I enjoyed reading Adam and Brooklyn's story. My only complaint is how much focus there was on Brooklyn's ex and the frequent back and forth there. Otherwise, this was a really great book.

Another #hit

This book was really good. You can tell it was written early Yesenia Vargas career due to the sentence styles. The story however is wonderful. I always love a happy ending.
