As Amelia searches for a second food truck to expand her cupcake franchise, John drops another bombshell to complicate her life. She pays her crazy ex-husband no mind, especially when her true love, Detective Dan Walishovsky, needs her help in solving his most difficult case yet.
A serial killer is murdering young prostitutes in a seedy part of town. These women are all brunette and almost as young as Amelia’s daughter Meg. Can Amelia find the dangerous murderer and the right truck and staff for her growing business?
Read the 9th cozy mystery (30,000+ words) in the popular Pink Cupcake series.
This mystery was a bit darker than those in previous books. I love Amelia and how she is building her business. She's also a great mom. I'm not sure why Dan insists on taking her to help solve his cases, he endangers her and it's unrealistic. John is a horrible character and I'm glad Amelia is standing up to him. Can't wait for her to marry Dan.
This was book 9 in the "The Pink Cupcake Mysteries" series. Amelia is dealing with a lot. First she decides to open another truck. Second body's of women are being found and someone is setting fires. Third her ex John has decided that he wants a piece of her business. I hate John he said that the business wouldn't work and now that she is making money he wants in and he is threatening to take her to court for what to take the kids? Amelia begins to worry about Detective Dan. Both of them are stressed as the body's pile up. I figured out who did it before it was revealed. I really like reading this series and I loved the end of this book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series I think it's the last in the series.
The ninth book in the The Pink Cupcake Mysteries Series, Confections and Confessions, is an exciting addition to the very enjoyable series. Just like real life, Amelia has both good and bad things happening around her. Pretty sure more good than bad, and all of it is interesting. With the mouthwatering smell of delicious cupcakes lingering in the pages of this book, we meet several new characters and witness Amelia dealing with the angst that continually finds her. I can't wait to see how things turn out with a couple of those in future books. This book has something for just about every mystery reader, so don't miss it.
My favorite cozy mystery keeps getting better and better! There is a serial killer about, Amelia is looking to expand to a second truck and I was thrilled with the ending. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
As with all off the Pink Cupcake Mysteries, this book has fun characters. Amelia is a joy, especially the way she handles her ex-husband. The killer was a surprise though we were led to him at the end. Unlike the other books, there weren't a lot of suspects. There were a couple of confusing things. The city appears to have changed from Gary, Oregon to Portland, Oregon. Also Adam seems to have gotten younger; from 17 to 16 though I could be mis-remembering his age. Worth a read.
So upset I’m about to read last current instalment this one was brilliant as are all the rest loving the characters hating a certain dushbag though but that’s to be expected lol just hope you enjoy them as much as I have woo hoo
I have read all of these books. They are so good. The characters, the plot of each book, and her hilarious teenagers. I read like three books in one day. ( I needed a rest day) I cannot wait until she comes out with more books. I have also read some of her other titles!!! So good.
I received an ARC for an honest review. Amelia has a busy life - an ex-husband who is a real piece of work, 2 great kids who are teenagers and all that comes with being teens, a successful food truck business and a devoted boyfriend who is a detective with the local police. Just as she is expanding her business by getting another truck, her ex wants in on the money. Then her boyfriend, Dan, becomes more and more distant. To add to it, there's an arsonist and a serial killer on the loose. Amelia gets dragged into these cases and winds up putting herself in danger. Many surprises occur at the end. Great series!
In the ninth book of The Pink Cupcake Mystery, Gray, Oregon is in the grips of a serial arsonist and a serial killer. Dan has become frustrated at the lack of progress he is making in the cases and he asks Amelia for some help with the investigation. Amelia already has her hands full trying to juggle the antics of her ex, John, and the purchase of a second cupcake truck. This was a fast paced mystery that kept me guessing until the end. Cannot wait to jump into the next adventure. I received an ARC from the author for purposes of an unbiased review.
Today I stopped in to visit Amelia and catch up on what she is up to. Boy did she have a good story to share. The ex is still inserting himself in her life. She really needs to set him straight. I see a glimmer of her backbone, finally. Too bad he doesn't spend an effort with his kids. But Amelia has news to share. Dan is busy with a new project and doesn't have time to hear the news. Trouble in paradise? I hope not. So Amelia helps Dan with his project. Super ending to this story. Can't wait to visit with Amelia again soon.
Business is really picking up for Amelia's food truck business. So good, in fact, that she is seriously contemplating buying another truck. At the same time, her ex is harassing her about money. Then too, Dan has been so busy that he has missed several dates Sweet, thrilling, and chilling, just what every good cozy mystery should be. In my opinion, Harper Lin is a mistress of the genre. And, with a couple of good cupcake recipes at the end, what more could you ask for?
This was my favorite one so far. Amelia helps Detective Dan during a murder investigation and helps him find the person responsible for a string of murders. Along the way Amelia has to deal the idea of adding another Pink Cupcake truck (what a great way to add more mystery to this series), with raising her two wonderful kids and her lousy ex-husband. The ending was so unexpectedly wonderful. I can't wait until the next book to find out how things are progressing.
I love this series!!! Amelia and Dan make the cutest couple and "partner" trying to solve the crime. So much is going on in this book and you gotta read it. Amelia's ex John gets worse and worse - don't know how anyone puts up with him - just wish he would go away. The crime this time hits close to home and is a little darker IMO than previous ones. Love her kids and how they love her and Dan. The ending was the best. Highly recommend this series.
This book was a fun read. I love the cupcake truck mystery series, and I always look forward to seeing what Amelia, Dan, and the kids are up to. Add Lila and now Beatrice to the story, and you know things are going to be interesting and laugh out loud funny. Robert is back in the story, and up to no good as usual. Dan shows his protective take charge side, and there are a few really great twists to the story. Another 5 star winner for Harper Lin
Being a massive fan of Harper's work I knew this one would be amazing. Dan and Amelia continue to be just adorable. John is still a jerk! This book had a serial killer and a second cupcake truck (because can you ever have enough cupcakes?). Don't forget the recipes at the end. If you have not, please read all 9, this series is so fun. Great beach or one day reads.
I am a proud member of the Review crew and super grateful to Harper for her time and talents.
These are short, sweet (no pun intended) little cozy mysteries with a likeable heroine. Nothing bloody or gruesome, just a single mom, raising her kids, supporting herself and solving murders. Cupcake recipes, a nice cop boyfriend and a food truck; perfect escapist read during lunch. I've read them all more than once. They are on my phone Kindle and Nook apps, for when I’m caught somewhere without a book!
There is a lot of emotions going on in this story. More so than any of the other ones. Amelia wondered if she should expand her business, fighting with John about child support. Dan isn't acting like Dan, things just are not 'normal'. What is going on? Oh, you will have to read this one to find out! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
My favorite cozy series and it just keeps getting better. We get to see some new stuff about Lila and Beatrice, John is his usual miserable self, the kids continue to be wonderfully fun, and Amelia and Dan take another step in their relationship. This one is definitely one of my favorites of the whole series! Now I just need to anxiously await Book 10!
Wow! this was good, they just keep getting better, Amelia with the help of Lila are thinking of expanding the pink cupcake truck. And Amelia is not sure if Dan's new case is hitting him hard or if he's hiding something from her. A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.
Excellent! I think this was my favorite of the Pink Cupcake series. I read it in one sitting. I couldn't wait to know what happened next. I love all of the characters, the good and the not so good ones. They are well written and have developed nicely over the series.
Thank you Harper Lin for the advance copy as part of her Review Crew. Another nice easy read from Harper Lin. I think this was my favorite so far.there was a little more mystery this time. I love the relationship between the workers in the food truck.
