Early Childhood Mathematics

This NCTM standards-based book encourages the educator or future educator to create an active learning environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and persistence in young children as they learn mathematics. Because the knowledge of important mathematical relationships, number sense, and the ability to solve problems are three key ingredients to the successful acquisition of math in the early years, this book pays special attention to helping teachers foster those skills and ways of thinking.

Taught Foundations of Math Methods and used this book. Easy to read and understand. Encouraged students in class to keep book for the Professional shelf and refer back to it when they get their own classroom.
