This was a super fun, sexy, and funny friends to lovers romance. What happens when you finally notice your best friend after a bad breakup?? Austin and Clover have been friends all their lives and when Clover's world falls apart Austin is there to help her get back on her feet. There is also an adorable pet that rounds out this romantic comedy!

When Clover goes through an awful breakup, who's there for her as he always is? Her best friend, Austin.

But when Austin somehow manages to get Clover's rant filmed live for his radio show, and she is wrangled into dating for that same show, suddenly Austin's faced with possibly losing his best friend, the woman he's realizing he has more than friendly feelings for. Can these two best friends navigate the pitfalls taking a friendship to the next level can bring?

I thought UnLucky in Love was a lot of fun. And sweet. And sexy near the end. Clover and Austin are pretty great characters and make a great couple. But the real star of this story isn't Clover and Austin's relationship, it's Clover's relationship with her friends Mal and CJ, and Austin's relationship with Owen, and with Clover's crazy ass cockatoo, Kramer. So much zany fun!! And if I'm not mistaken, there are some serious sparks zinging through the air between Owen and Mal. Perhaps their story is next...

Austin and Clover have been best friends forever. Austin is popular, confident, player, loves the attention he gets from ladies. Clover is a relationship kinda girl, a good girl, but after a breakup, she wants to do the opposite of what she's been doing. She feels she's missing out. Her accidental slip in Austin's place of work, OMG, I was dyin laughing!

I really enjoyed this book. The shenanigans she was getting herself into, Austin realizing his feelings for his best friend, the bird, the friends, all of it. I need a Kramer in my life!!! Can't wait for more in this series.

Corny Funny, I was hoping I would at least laugh out loud or something but sadly I didn’t. This book was ok and the banter was fun. But I just didn’t find it laugh out loud funny.

I like the fact this was a best friends falling in love without actually knowing it. And that her girlfriends were just as nuts as she was.

I do think the men in this book needed to be I don’t know more something.

It was a goodish book. I probably won’t remember much about it other than I like the male narrator A LOT! He really has a great voice I want to listen to more by him.

Ok I will admit the first chapter I was like lord Clover is naïve and gullible then Jeffrey and his useless self happened and Clover became my favorite person. She may be naïve and meek but man did she go off which lead us to the best 53 plus dates ever and Clover finding her one true love.

Clover Kelly has a binder of how her life is supposed to play out every step and every goal and she thinks because she’s been with Jeffrey for six years he’s her one. On paper he’s perfect in real life not so much. When the inevitable happens, Clover unleashes on him and grabs Kramer her barking cockatoo and flees to her friend Austin’s house. She finds solace in Austin and starts to mend her somewhat broken heart. When she unloads all her problems to him at the radio station where he works, she doesn’t realize she just pressed a button to broadcast and thus Unlucky in Love was born. Clover is set to go out on a speed dating round and then narrow it down to four lucky guys. They range from a guy who motorboats her to a guy who was just using her. Trust me it’s all very bad. It’s slowly over this time that Clover realizes maybe she’s been looking in all the wrong places.

Austin Montgomery is Dr Feelgood a radio host who discusses sex and relationships on the radio. He doesn’t have a memory that doesn’t include Clover Kelly. Despite his easy ways with women he hasn’t found the one. When Unlucky in Love is born thanks to his producer Owen, he is against it. He doesn’t want to watch someone he cares about throw herself out there like that, but he does and it’s the biggest trainwreck ever. Each and every time he is there to pick up the pieces and feed her ice cream and wine. He starts to realize he might just love Clover and starts to sabotage her dates. When he finally comes to the true realization, he hopes he’s not too late to go from unlucky in love to lucky in love.

I loved Austin and Clover. They are unconventional but they fit. They always say opposites attract and in this case it did. I wanted to burn Clovers binder in an epic bonfire. I couldn’t imagine adhering to something so adamantly like she did. I loved her best friends CJ and Mallory. Every girl needs friends like that. I can relate to Clover on the Google front because yep Google always has my back. We have this image as Austin as this womanizer but I like how he redeemed himself when it came to that. If you like laughs, a cockatoo named Kramer who just like his Seinfeld namesake has crazy hair and an even crazier attitude, pervy dates, sexual chemistry that’s off the charts and love sweet love I suggest you pick up this book. Cary Hart is truly finding her way in the romcom world of books.

This book is HILARIOUS! I don’t know how Cary Hart comes up with this stuff, but damn, I was in fits of laughter! Definitely one of those books that picks you up when your down. One of those books that make you LOL and have people stare at you like you’re a freak. And definitely one of those books that you recommend to anyone that listens.

Clover was the perfect, naive, goody-goody and sex deprived character I’ve ever read about. And CJ? Don’t get me started on her. She’s my spirit animal for sure. She’s got no filter, self-confidence for miles and is just one of the best friends everyone needs!!! Anyway, back to Clover... her whole story was just complete bonkers which is why it was so funny. 50+ interview-dates with strangers and ending the way it did??! Okay, so you can see the ending coming from 25 miles away, but it was still bittersweet and, of course, quite amusing.

Austin... anyone who seems to have that name seems to be drop dead gorgeous, and this character is no different. SWOON!!! Can someone pass me a fan? I think it’s a little hot in here. He’s the perfect, melodramatic hero that we all want to read about.

The storyline itself was just pure perfection. The only thing I didn’t like was the hella extended sex scenes at the end. It was too much, and I admit, I skipped the majority of those parts because it went on forever.

I’m a big fan of Cary Hart’s work, and her books keep getting better and better and better. And more Hilarious. This author has talent upon talent!

What a surprise this was, new to me author and of course I went in blind, It was such a cute, fun read. Clover thinks she’s getting a proposal from her 6 yr boyfriend but instead gets a breakup. So she turns to move in with her BFF Austin who happens to be a radio talk show host, Dr Feel Good. She accidentally professes her desire to explore new things sexual on air and since the offers start coming in immediate to help her fulfill her needs, the Show producer comes up with a dating contest to help her find 4 men/ dates. The only problem is that after being so close to her again, Austin realizes he doesn’t want to be just friends with her anymore. But he doesn’t want to chance loosing her friendship since he’s never been the relationship type and she’s determined to finish out the contest.

They have a wonderful friendship and some great lines, fun situations. I was probably smiling through most of this book. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more.

So, so funny!! Clover and Austin have been best friends for years but he's a playboy and she's got her life, including the perfect wedding to her not-so-perfect boyfriend planned to the last detail. When Clover's life implodes she turns to Austin and unwittingly unloads her emotional baggage on his sex talk radio show. And #Unluckyinlove is born. Through wildly hilarious dates Clover learns what she is really looking for. And Austin realizes his perfect girl is closer than he thinks.

Cary Hart is a funny, funny lady. The 50 speed dates had me laughing out loud and Clover's friends actually made me cry from laughing so hard. A fun, sexy friends-to-lovers story!!

Cary Hart,
Where have you been all my life?
A friend of mine shipped me Unlucky in Love and told me I must read it ASAP. I have to say from the moment I saw it I LOVED the cover and knew I wanted to curl up read this!
It was fun, colorful, and very inviting.
If you haven’t read Cary Hart, you must rectify that immediately!!! She has such a fun writing style that sucks you in and really lets you get lost in the story! There were times I was reading and I felt like I was there with Clover and believe me I definitely wanted to be!
The characters in this book were so damn funny and so much fun, I just adored them all! CJ and Mal are the best friends every woman dreams of having, and Austin... SWOON!!! Love love love him!
I read Rom-com after my darker reads and this one just hit all the right spots for me! There were so many LOL moments and holy cow Clovers dating life.... I can’t even, what a hilarious yet disastrous mess that was! Think Win a Date with Tad Hamilton meets The Bachelorette and that’s the feel you get (Side note if you haven’t watched Win a Date With Tad Hamilton, you must!)
So what it all balls down to is if you’re in the mood for a light feel good romance with all the laughs, inappropriate best friends, and terribly bad dates (that are flipping hilarious) then pick this book up! This will definitely not be my last Cary Hart book!

This book was really funny, but sometimes the funny moments almost got a little too much for me, which is weird, I love RomCom. But other than that, this was a light and enjoyable read which I saw as more of a slow burn and a path to self discovery for our leading lady and our main man!

Clover has a plan with her life, legit, she even has it detailed in her binder. Things are all going to plan, she has been with her boyfriend for 6 years and things are going well, right? WRONG! Her boyfriend breaks up with her and she runs to her BFF Austin (like always) who happens to be a bit of a manwhore and a popular radio host and her entire situation ends up On Air, for EVERYONE to hear. They offer her a solution- 50 dates via Speed Dating on crack through the radio show.

This was a funny but heartfelt book that makes Clover dig deep inside and see exactly what she wants in her life, even if it doesn't fit in the "plan". She has loyal friends: CJ, Mallory, and Austin, a great pet (Kramer is the freaking best), and has a huge heart! I recommend reading this book because it was an extremely enjoyable read with some side splitting humor!

PS: Thank you to Cary Hart and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for allowing me an ARC of the book to read and review honestly!

This is my first read by this author and I really don’t know why I haven’t read her before! I love romantic comedies so much and this was an amazing, fun, so very entertaining story that I couldn’t put it down!
I loved the characters! What witty funny banter and text messages and all the innuendos made this a story I would highly recommend!
Clover and Austin have been best friends for so long, when she moves into his apartment after a breakup, things get decidedly very interesting indeed!
Austin is a radio show host and when Clover blurts out something funny ‘on air’, needless to say you are in for one helluva ride!
I laughed alot! I really loved the way the characters were and their antics and I wondered if Clover and Austin would come to their own realisation?? Can best friends be more??
So much fun to read, go 1 click this entertaining book, go on, you know you want to! A definite thumbs up from me!!

For the last six years Clover has dreamed of the life she would have with her boyfriend until it implodes and she is left trying to pick up the pieces. While venting to her best friend Austin she didn’t realize that she was on the radio however her mistake could be the best thing to happen to her if the flurry of dates are any indication. The only problem is that her dates all end up as an epic fail and since playing the field and a committed relationship didn’t work out she begins to wonder if it is her.

Austin is a radio host who is an expert at discussing other people’s relationships but he is content with his single lifestyle. As he watches his best friend endure one disastrous date after another he begins to wonder if they could be lucky in love?

Hot chemistry, humorous banter combined with a friends to lovers story with a twists make this an enjoyable story.

This was a really fun, entertaining weekend read! Clover & Austin we’re best friends until Clover was dumped. After that, Clover wants to go wild, Austin ties to restrain her & discovers new feelings for her. The chemistry between Austin & Clover was apparent to everyone but them. The accidental radio broadcast, the speed dating, the dates, even the interactions with her best friends are all hilarious & serve to make this a fun story. I really cant wait to see what Cary Hart does with the rest of this series!

Listened to the audio. It was cute. Definitely a slow burn. Best friends to lovers. Pretty obvious finish. If you want a fast easy read to cleanse the pallet this would be cute one. Lots of fun references to 90s romcoms and just an all around sweet book.

This was cute and quirky. Clover is a sweetheart, she has goals, and a plan…. But when her plan goes off the rails big time, she’s forced to re-examine her life.
Austin is a wonderful friend, he always has Clover’s best interests at heart.

It wasn't bad I guess, I just didn't like it.
Boring.
Laughs? NONE. My humor didn't align with this I guess.
My brain erased paragraphs out of this book. My brain was this is not important this can go. Swipe.
I saw it was on KU and i grabbed it hoping it would be nice, funny and fluffy. Yeah, it did not go that way.
Me aburrió muchooo, no lo dejé a medias solo porque se leía bastante rápido.

Fun is temporary. Love is forever.

Stephannie's 5 Star Review:

This book is very funny. I love Cary Hart books. She comes up with some funny stuff. I read this one cover to cover. I just loved these characters. It is a book you MUST check out!

Clover is very unlucky in love. She pretty clueless, naive and a good girl who is tired of being good and wants to be a little bad. That's what happens when you are sex deprived for 6 years with a boyfriend who is totally wrong for you. Clover story is so crazy. She interviews 50 guys to live a little and whore herself out a tad. What? That's what happens when you need good sex like your next breathe.

Austin is Clover's best friend. He is very swoon worthy, how can he not when he is Dr. FeelGood on the radio show. He goes to great lengths to protect Clover from herself and these lame guys that all wrong for her and after one thing. See Clover my want to be a tad "whoreish" but really she is looking for the fairy tale.

I love this book, it was so funny an very swoon worthy. The great lengths Austin went to when he finally admits to himself how he feels about Clover. I just love it. Check this one.

As for the storyline and all the amazingness that came with it, Unlucky In Love was refreshing and fun! Clover Kelly is the goody-two-shoes of her group of friends and is newly single after a long relationship. During her rant to her best friend, the super charming and sexy Austin Montgomery (aka Dr. Feelgood to the listeners of his radio show), she accidentally broadcasts LIVE that she is ready to turn in her goody two shoes and play the field in hopes to find a man that can make her toes curl in the sheets... uh oh! Without spoiling all the fun, this leads to lots of interesting dates and funny moments. Does this Clover get lucky? You’ll just have to read it for yourself to find out.⁣

I highly recommend this story and cannot wait for more from this group of friends as well as other Cary Hart stories unrelated to this series. ⁣

Austin and Clover have been best friends for 15 years. When Clover’s long-term boyfriend breaks up with her and leaves her homeless, she shows up on Austin’s doorstep. He has a place for her anytime she needs it. He is a radio personality informing listeners about sex and dating. Somehow one of her rants about the miserable state of her love life ends up on the radio show, and suddenly she’s trending. It takes her over 50 speed-dates and a few longer dates to figure out what was in front of her all along.

There are some memorable characters in this book, especially Kramer, Owen, Mal, and CJ. They add levity and interest to the story. The story moves along at a good pace and includes a few awkward moments that lighten things up and keep the story flowing. There are multiple tweets and hashtags included, and the author even throws in a tweet from herself, which turned out to be clever and unexpectedly ironic.

This is a fun book to read. There are unanswered questions regarding the best friends of the main characters; this leads the reader to believe that the possibility of other stories involving the remaining characters may be in the works...

Loving this entertaining romantic comedy! Clover has had her life planned out by following a set of rules she lives by. When her bubble bursts due to a breakup rather than the engagement she planned on, she runs to her best friend Austin. Austin is better known as Dr. Feelgood on the radio, and lives his life hyping that up. But when Clover runs to Austin and somehow finagles herself into being the topic of discussion on his radio show, Austin starts to realize that his closed off feelings for her might not be able to be hidden much longer. As Clover goes on her dates, she realizes that maybe her feelings for Austin need to be closed off for good, thinking it would never happen. This was probably one of the funniest romantic comedies I’ve read to date! I couldn’t stop laughing over the antics Austin was doing in order to get Clover to stop the dates or cancel, and also loved how quirky Clover was! This was my first read from this author but won’t be my last for sure!

How far is to far to go with your best friend? When Clover had her entire life planned out down to the wire every detail well the night she thinks she getting engaged to her boyfriend of 6 years well lets just say her life got flipped upside down and her perfect life plan got thrown out the window. Austin her best friend since they were kids swoops in and saves the day with letting her crash at his place and calling his driver to go pick up the rest of her stuff from her ex so she never has to see him again. When Clover take Austin lunch at work she ends up sitting on the on air button at his radio show and ends up letting all of New York City know she’s single ready to mingle and is looking for that perfect man and that perfect O. With the help of her best gal pals and Austin will Clover be able to find the one, or has he always been right in front of her. This book is down right hilarious I’ve never laughed so hard in my life. If the conversations don’t have your rolling on the floor Kramer definitely will. You are not going to want to miss this one at all.

Unlucky In Love....Cary Hart
This Romance Comedy will have your emotions all over the place. Just when you think you have this book figured out, Wham Cart Hart proves you wrong. The story follows two best friends since childhood, Clover Kelley and Austin Montgomery. Clover is a very naïve google fact checking good girl, who is anything but spontaneous. In fact, Clover has her whole life planned out, so she thinks. Austin is a talk show host aka Dr Feelgood that gives relationship advice to his listeners. When Clover finds herself needing a place to live, the first person she, goes to for help is Austin.
Clover has a pet named Kramer, who is hilarious and will have you laughing out loud. You will fall in love with all the characters in this book from CJ and Mel to Owen. As, I don’t like to give spoilers, just know that you will definitely want to put this book on your want to read list.
Once you read one of this Authors books you will be hooked and find yourself wanting to read more and more of her stories.

This was a fun, hilarious start to a new series. I loved Austin and Clover and they were great as friends but even better when they were together. Austin is Clover’s best friend, who just happens to be a guy that gets around with the ladies and also a host of a radio love show. Clover shows up at Austin’s job and while complaining about her lack of a love life and being a good girl she accidentally announces that she wants to shake up her dating life on air. Now she is going to be on a radio show to try to help her find love. After Clover starts going on all of these dates Austin realizes he is jealous and in love with his best friend.
I loved this book and Austin and Clover were a fabulous couple- as friends and then as a couple. I loved Clover’s friends, CJ and Mallory (who happens to be Austin’s younger sister). And you can’t forget about Kramer, he was a freaking hoot and quite entertaining. I am looking forward to more books in this series!

4.5 lol stars!! This is a perfect easy, funny and HEA weekend read.

This is book one of the “Hotline Hookup” series. This can be read as a stand alone.

This is a story about heart break, long friendships and lots of laughs!! This story was very funny. I absolutely adore all of these characters. Kramer is probably my favorite!!!

The tension between Austin and Clover throughout the entire book was off the chain. And let me say I was hooked on Austin from the very beginning!! I think there is something up with Mal but it’s driving me nuts not knowing so I surely hope this author is putting out a book number two soon!! The friendship between these girls is what every girl needs!! Lots of truth, laughs and wine/coffee!!

This is a great read!

I love friends to lovers books so much better than instalove. I mean come on, to know that there is something other than lust, history. These 2 have known each other for 15 years, grew up together and are best friends firmly in the friend zone. She is stuck in a relationship, well until she isn't which sets the stage for laughs, mischief, jealousy, speed dating and it's everything. First glance of her and you think man is she for real?? Then all of a sudden her true self emerges like a phoenix hot on fire and ready for hot burning SEX with ORGASMS (yes plural please). Ms Hart shows she can do drama and crazy laughs when she lets loose and we get to reap the benefits. With her friends chiming in we tag along as she finds out, the love she thought she could map out, was all there just waiting for her to open her eyes and heart to receive.

Unlucky in Love is a fun, fantastic read. Clover and Austin share friendship, memories, laughs, and...an apartment. When Clover's perfectly planned future is derailed, she decides that she needs to live a little and just "get lucky." Austin tries to help Clover find a date while also protecting her from being hurt. As Clover an Austin awaken to their attraction, their friendship is tested. Can crossing the line enhance their bond or destroy it? The banter and loyalty between Clover and Austin is inspired. Ms. Hart does a great job of balancing humor and emotion in this story. She also introduces us to a cast of quirky, intriguing side characters including Kramer, the cockatoo. They were entertaining and endearing and I can't wait to see what's in store for them. Now that Clover and Austin have gotten lucky in love, I definitely want more CJ, Mal, and Owen!

This was a hilarious telling of Clover's love life after a break up. She doesn't think she is worthy enough or acceptable to be kissed by anyone and she sets on a journey, unintentionally in front of the whole US of A!.

Kramer is absolutely awesome, Du-dun-ta-da, Runaway Bride, Rrrr-rrrruff, Intruder,
any more sayings ...

I especially melted when Austin said: "I know she's on the pill, but I want her to feel safe",

The banter between Mal, CJ and Clover is absolutely hilarious, burst out loud laughing.

Motor-boating, a tweet from a well-known author, all excellent additions to the book ... nuff said

It's a feel good story all around and I was so glad that I got to read it. I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
