Beckett. Let me count the ways I loathe him.

1. He’s the bane of my existence.
2. A thorn in my side.
3. I’m pretty sure he’s the devil in disguise
Or he at least has him on speed-dial.

So why am I standing here, bouquet in hand, about to become his wife?

He calls it a business proposition.
I call it blackmail.
He says our fighting is foreplay.
I say he should be on meds.
He says

This was an awesome read! I am a sucker for enemies to lovers romance and this little gem ticked the right boxes.
It had humor, intense heat, and tension and the familiar push and pull between the two main characters. It's the push and pulls that always grabs at me and this book was full of it.
Olivia and Beckett were one of a kind. The sexual tension between the to was thick and you could cut it with a knife, the witty banter and overall chemistry were through the roof, fighting or fucking thes

Fake and arranged marriages is a theme that I like to read.
Olivia and Beckett’s story didn’t thrill me though.
The characters weren’t fully developed and lacked maturity. Although I’ve read it I still do not have a clear portrayal of Beckett!
There were many parts that the storyline was really dragging and the ending was so rushed leaving me with even more questions.

The marriage may be fake, but the feelings and passion are real!

Update: upon further reflection, this book sort of reminds me of Gone With the Wind. Heroine pines after “the one who got away”, unable to see his true colors die to her younger self’s crush. She marries for money to the man as dynamic as she is. It’s not until late in the book when the blinders are ripped off that she sees the one who got away is a blessing in disguise-an unanswered prayer (if you’re a Garth Brooks fan). We all hav

Deliciously Funny and Romantically Steamy!
Donna Alam has a special gift for writing romantic comedies and To Have and To Hate is another example of that gift.
The main characters, Olivia and Beckett, reminded me somewhat of Katherine and Petruchio of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew fame. Olivia is in financial need for her matchmaking app and has turned to a financial investment group. Beckett is a part of this group. He proposes that if she marries him for six months he will make all her fina
One of the things I love about Alam’s books is the humour, my giddiness and falling in love with the hero. This book does not disappoint.

Olivia and Beckett were a dream to read. Olivia is looking for an investor to for her company when she stumbles and falls at Beckett’s feet. Another chance meeting sees her going to dinner with him. Then another meeting sees him proposing marriage and an investment into her company that’s just about to go into the black, and he needs a wife for a business deal

I loved this one! There's nothing more exciting than reading marriage of convenience trope with lots of witty banters and lots of angst!

Olivia is in of financial need for her matchmaking app and has turned to a financial investment group. She thought her long time crush, Luke would help her set the pitch meeting up and help her get the company to invest. Little did she know, Luke has his own agenda going with this.

Beckett is a part of the investment group and he sees through Luke and decide

I absolutely LOVE a well written Enemies-To-Lovers story that's loaded with tension, verbal stouches and intense passion; but throw a true antihero into the mix and you've found my Kryptonite!

TO HAVE AND HATE is just that story and Donna Alam's Beckett is just that Hero!!

When Olivia Welland goes looking for investors to try and save her haemorrhaging start-up, the last thing she expects is to fall head over heels for one of the principles of the firm.
Well, in reality she faceplants at his feet b

Explosive and at the same time endearing characters
I loved this excellent and very well written story that is fascinating thanks to the unusual characters.
The heroine, Olivia, does not always know how to react, but she is always fighting against a Beckett who is definitely a very good villain. Their verbal fights are as edgy and hot as their melee.
Olivia needs funds to finish launching her app and thinks to succeed thanks to her friend Luck. However, after falling because of a stranger and Luck

Olivia needs funding to keep her business afloat when the funding she thought was going to come didn't she didn't know what to do. Beckett is a member of the place she pitched her idea to trying to get money which fell through. She also fell at his feet on her way to the meeting. Beckett was drawn to her but he knew his firm wouldn't give her the money she needed so he contacted her through his secretary to set up a meeting between them. Great cover!
I know that many readers/reviewers may disagree, but It took a really long time for me to get into this romance. The last portion was good, but I found the early part of the story awfully focused on verbal sparring that did not hit me as flirty, cute or particularly romantic. Maybe the title should have clued me in to the darker, confrontational nature of their relationship. I

This was an enjoyable read and I give it a solid 4.5 outta 5!

Olivia is in a pickle. She needs financing for her struggling business, fast. Beckett wants to take over the majority shares of the company is a partner at and so he needs a wife, fast. Hmmm, how can these two help each other?!

All in all, this book had two of my favorite romance types- enemies to lovers and fake marriage. Olivia and Beckett have this amazing chemistry and honestly their hatred for each other makes it that so much stro

This story is phenomenal!
Beckett is our leading man and one that totally consumed my heart. If I'm honest, I saw David Gandy every time I read his POV.
Olivia is, in some ways, a bit of a Bridget Jones character but isn't. Please don't ask me to explain, but all becomes clear when you read this funny and engaging book.
Beckett and Olivia start their relationship with a business deal and not one you expect. Very quickly, you find yourself drawn into this passionate relationship. The writing clev

The opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s apathy. And this pair feels so much. There is so much passion between Olivia and Beckett. Whether they’re fighting or… well, pretty much anything else, the sparks leap off the page when they’re together. I adored Olivia’s fighting spirit and her viciously snarky wit. The banter as they tore into each other left me howling with laughter. I wasn’t sure about Beckett for the longest time. He’s a bit of a bully and that totally rubbed me the wrong way. But once ...more

Fake marriage, lots of sexual chemistry but confusing plot. Beckett and Olivia meet in a weird bump into, not thinking much into it, they go about their day.....But, its definitely not the only bump into....She needs an investment in her company to keep it going, she's burning through her money fast, and its a love match program that she is swearing will work. Beckett wants complete control of his company that he's a partner in, but needs Olivia to make it work. This is where the fake marriage c ...more

I am a sucker for an alpha billionaire romance and in this story I loved that the heroine wasn't necessarily a damsel in distress- she being a business woman. What I couldn't stand was the idea of her waiting around for a guy (OM)for 5 years ?!?!. Her personality to me did not match, she was take charge of her life type of person but ONE so called "honorable" MAN (OM again) turned her to this teenage girl. She behaved the same way with the H as well. She has no sense of authority whatsoever even ...more

A fake and arranged marriage or a real marriage? To Have and Hate hits both questions spot on.

Donna Alam is one of my favorite authors, her Scot series is fabulous and sexy, now we get to meet a whole new cast of characters. Alternating views with both Olivia and Beckett even though we don't really get to see into the mind of the reasons behind Beckett intentions, it's still a great storyline. As always with any Donna Alam story, you get a bit of the sweet and lots and lots of heat...yikes!!!

Olivia has her dream job, being the boss of her own start up company, the bad part is she's pretty much broke. Her good friend from University has set up an appointment for her with his stepfather who's a partner in a venture capital business. She's running late for the meeting when she inadvertently is tripped by a foot, the foot is attached to a stranger who, although good looking, seems to get her ruff up. She's got skinned knees and a completely bruised ego. She's got an instant dislike for ...more

Never thought I'd fall in love with Bolivia!!

OMG, this book! I adore Bolivia! Olivia is strong, passionate, fiery, determined, and a bit too worried about what everyone else might say but when she gets out of her own way, she's phenomenal. And Beckett...delicious, sexy, smirky, hot and cold, determined to control ever Beckett. Their love & hate, back & forth, can't keep away from each other passion is mesmerizing. This story has all my favorite things about romance. Donna does it again.

To Have and to Hate by Donna Alam a five-star read that you will want to have and hold. This is such an amazing read it was a little slow to start with, but ne it got going it was a hundred miles an hour. Witty, Sexy, STEAMY!!!

I think I've read everything Donna Alam has written, and To Have & Hate is a standout, standalone novel that I absolutely loved. Every book has a fresh take on relationships and romance, and T.H.A.H. provides a lot of freshness...fresh, cheeky, searing banter, that is! Bolivia's (Beckett and Olivia's) relationship is less give-and-take and more pursuit/reluctant submission, served up with heated innuendo and enough steamy heat to curl wallpaper. This is a very entertaining marriage of convenience set in London, featuring a strong-willed American woman with a struggling company, and the older, haughty, British financier who offers her a monetary proposal – one that includes much more than business! In this fake marriage, enemies to lovers romance, there is a huge amount of chemistry between Beckett and Olivia. Beckett is icy cool but still attractive to Olivia, who gets off on annoying him. Donna writes dirty stories, according to her family. She hopes you find them funny, too.

When not bashing away at a keyboard, she can usually be found hiding from her family and responsibilities with a good book in her hand and a dog that looks like a mop by her feet. She likes her humour and wine dry, her mojitos sweet, and her language salty.
