Patch

The smallest caskets weigh the most.
I lost myself the day I buried my daughter.
Her death was only the beginning of my downfall.

I will not play God.
As a doctor, the oath I took bound me.
As a father, only blood could set me free.

Pain is my prison.
With guilt my only companion,
I bought myself a life, silenced by sin.

Alaska

You are not defined by your mistakes.
I refuse to regret the choices I've made.
I embrace them.

I will bow to no one.
Fear does not make me weak.
In the face of fear, I find my true strength.

I will rise.
With fire in my veins and embers in my soul,
I will give my daughter the life she deserves.

Silenced by Sin is book 2 in the Heaven's Guardian MC and while I thought it was a little better than book 1 it still didn't WOW me. Patch like the rest of the guys has a tragic past. He spends all his time working as a Dr. in the hospital or with his brothers. Alaska is a young single mom who finds herself in a hard situation and fate lands her right in Patch's path. I really enjoyed Patch and Alaska together and Grace definitely stole my heart. Patch annoyed me a little with his hot and cold behavior towards the girls but I understood why he did it. I loved Alaska every decision she made right or wrong was in the best interest of Grace so I would never judge anything she did. Overall I look forward to Bullet's story and I can't wait to see if Angel winds up with Jax. I really hope he isn't the traitor.

Let's start off by saying that this is a first time author for us and we really enjoyed our first read by them.

The story drew you right in from the very first moment and kept you turning the pages right to the very end as it was intriguing and suspenseful and a heart felt emotional read.

Evander/Doc/Patch was one of my favorite characters right from the onset of the story.Patch is a real-time doctor and also a patch member who has suffered unbelievable loss in his life which has affected his life daily as he carries around unbelievable guilt that ways him down but, he was also about healing and justice most of all has a great big hug heart .

Alaska was a amazing mom mother to Grace and was a women who was strong and determined had a bit of sass but, she was also a survivor who did what was necessary and the best she could to take care of her little girl even through dire circumstances she did her best.We loved Alaska from the onset of meeting her she never let life beat her down .

Grace was another character you could not help but, fall in love with.Being deaf from birth the girl melted hearts whoever she came in contact with and after years of heartbreak she did the impossible she made Patch feel something again and is melting that ice around his heart and he was not only falling in love with the mother he was also falling in love with the daughter as well.

We really enjoyed the story from beginning to end.One of the things we loved the most about the story was it was its characters as they were awesome and funny and specially Willow Priest their Presidents old lady these badass bikers were afraid of her sass .lol

The story had suspense and intrigue and love but, it was also about healing and moving on and showed us the lengths one would go to protect those they love and now call family. The road to love for both Patch and Alaska was not and easy one but, for Patch it will be worth it in end the as he tries to put his past behind him and who new that fate would put Alaska in his path once again to right a wrongs done to her so many years ago.

For us overall it was a well written tale that we loved beginning to end and can't wait to read Bullet's read next as it is going to be and interesting one.

*KU Read

Silenced by Sin is freaking AWESOME!! Holy crap, I am so mad for not keeping up with Ashley Lane's releases. Where the hell was I when this was released?!?! I fell in love with Ashley's writing when I read Washed In Blood, and I knew I wanted to read the rest of the group's story, and Ashley did NOT disappoint.

Patch is the man every girl could ever want. Patch has lost everything in his life and is not looking for anything to replace it. When he finds a new woman working at the bike shop that he knows from a year and a half ago, he wants her more than anything else. But she has a past he knows could ruin the MC.

Alaska is hurting. For herself, her child, and now for the people, she is working for. Alaska knows she is hiding something that could hurt them, and after finding love with Patch, she is bound to save everyone.

I could NOT put this book down. I was up till 1 a.m. finishing this book. I had to know what was going to happen next. I love Ashley's writing style. Silenced by Sin is a must-read!!!

I devoured this baby in no time flat.

From the first page I fell down the rabbit hole and NEEDED to see how things for Patch and Alaska would play out and lemme tell you it was one hell of a bumpy ride but it hit all the right buttons for me and then some.

Patch and Alaska...I loved these two. Patch has cut himself off from everything but his brothers, though even then he tends to keep his distance, but there despite everything, he still has a golden heart. Alaska. This woman hasn’t ever had a break and yet she continues to find a way to continue to do what she can in hope that she can one day give her daughter the life she deserves.

Their journey to their HEA is all kinds of bumpy. Secrets abound between these two and they cause more than their fair share of angst. But there is also that connection that continues to draw them to each other that neither one can shake and it definitely made for some interesting times. In all honesty, as much I loved these two, they also drove me batshit crazy ~ the growling in frustration and rolling of the eyes was real. So. Real. But in the end, I liked how everything turned out for them.

This baby is chock full of some serious issues ~ some do take a bit of a dark turn, but the story in and of itself isn’t dark, more on the gritty side that butts up against some hot topics. There was also one issue that surprised me with how it played out, not that I didn’t agree ~ I actually did, but it was definitely not what I was expecting to happen. As for the supporting cast of characters. I loved catching up with Priest and Willow and getting to know Bullet, Angel and Demon a little better and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

I tried, I really did. But this woman was the dumbest MC I have so far read.

Spoilers ahead!!

She’s thinking to herself “I definitely probably shouldn’t be doing this” as she walks to the BACK OF A BUILDING with a random man to look at tires?!? When she could ask him to pull up or I don’t know TELL SOMEONE where she is going!

Then at the end when someone breaks in and Patch tells her not to leave the room!! What does she do?? You guessed it, leaves the freaking room and FOLLOWS THE INTRUDER for no reason whatsoever!! Drives me nuts! I got to 90%!!! And just didn’t want to finish it anymore because it was so ridiculous!!

And then there were just random moments that made me go “WAIT WHAT??” Like the woman lives out of car but there’s one scene where it says she hadn’t driven in over a year?? More than a little confused by that moment.

I’ve been looking for a new MC series but unfortunately after the first and this one I don’t think I can keep going , it’s just not for me.

Where do I even start!? Ashley Lane burst onto the scene with a mind blowing debut that I didn’t think could be topped the proceeded to blow that out of the water with Silenced by Sin. This complete roller coaster of emotion, action, romance and suspense had me unable to to do anything but stay right where I was until I devoured every page!
Patch is every bit the bad@#$ you expect, but his softer side when it comes to Alaska and her daughter absolutely took my breath away. There was so much beauty in the way he loved them. Long before those feelings are given a voice you can almost physically feel how much he cares about them pouring off the pages. The story that Patch and Alaska have is filled with so much I found myself crying, swooning and constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming.
This is shaping up to be one of the best MC series I have ever read!

This book wasn’t anything special but I highly enjoyed it. It got me out of my slump in the ‘it’s kind of average but I’m eating it up’ kind of way.

The plot felt a little silly at times but I still enjoyed it for what it was. I really liked characters and all the side characters that form their found family.

Also deaf rep <3 the main character’s daughter is deaf and uses ASL with her mum AND the love interest. Ughhhh too cute.

The books are short enough and entertaining enough that I think I will continue reading the rest of the series.

Just not my cup of tea...

📚 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Motorcycle club, single mother

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Alaska has been living in her car with her deaf daughter for months before finding work at an auto shop. That shop, run by Heavens Guardians MC club, is her saving grace. Then in walks Patch, a club member with demons of his own.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I didn't love the first book, and I'm didn't love this book either. So I actually think I'm going to stop reading the series.

The writing is good. The storyline have potential. But I'm finding the male main characters to be kind of hard to love. Just like in the first one, Patch does something that literally causes the entire storyline of pain for Alaska, and he decides to never tell her or say sorry. It's kind of dumb that these men get to do incredibly hurtful things and never ever apologize. And the women don't even care.

It happened in the first book and I read the second book anyway thinking it might not again, but it's a pattern and I feel like reading the rest would be silly.

"When I left work today, I left the doctor at the door. Sometimes it takes a monster to destroy a monster. "

I was so excited when the next read was about Patched.
He had so much involvement in Washed in Blood that I wanted to know more about him.
While I love Silenced By Sin more than the first one, it was still a meh read.

It had a good plot, a history of the characters and development to be a good read, but I think the end climax ended too quickly.

I think Alaska and Patch's chemistry and individual stories were written well.
Their stories are intertwined with each other, with how they face life, grief, family issues, insecurity, responsibilities and living life for themselves. Their stories broke my heart, made me cry, and some parts of it were so real, raw, honest and relatable.

It's such a fragile storyline that we kind of dance around, not wanting to touch upon the subject, but Ashley did well in telling the story.

How I wish the end were explored more, it breaks up and makeup too quickly.

"With that one move, I made my intentions known. After so many long years of being alone, I was going to take a chance with Alaska Watson. And God willing, I’d make her and her daughter mine. "

So Patch and Alaska's book is just as heartbreaking as Priest and Willow's!! I was on an emotional roller coaster ride with this book as well. But let me tell you Alaska man she is one of my favorite female characters I've read. I love a fierce mom who would do anything to protect their child and she does that and that was so bada$$!! I am getting so invested in these characters and can't wait to read the other books and find out how these other men's stories end. I just want more epilogue's with these books. But other than that I am absolutely loving these books and I highly recommend them!!

Another fantastic MC romance

Washed in Blood had me "all in" for everything Heaven's Guardians MC, and Silenced by Sin did not disappoint. Digging into each member's backstory, learning more about why they are members, and how their pain has shaped them is so heartbreaking, but worth every wonderful heart fracture. Patch is one of my favorite characters introduced in this series and Alaska is nothing short of perfect for him. Their broken pieces fit together so beautifully. Both struggling with the idea that they deserve anything other than the emotional, dark place they've relegated themselves to, all they needed was to find the light within each other.

Silenced by Sin is a phenomenal addition to this author’s Heaven’s Guardians MC series and this fast-paced book had me flipping from page to page desperate to find out what happens but also not wanting it end. I always love a good romance with a broken bad boy and a strong heroine and this book has both along with intense chemistry, some sweet moments, and a fair amount of action!

Dr. Evander Cruz aka “Patch” is haunted by his past demons. Blanketed in guilt and regret, he isn’t sure that he is worthy of redemption and love. He spends his days caring for people at the hospital, but struggles in allowing his own heart to mend and heal. How can one not fall in love with such an amazing hero with a tortured soul? As for Alaska, I absolutely admired her protective and loving nature when it involved her daughter. I loved how she was full of sass, but also possessed a huge heart. She is a down on her luck single mom who you just want to give a fierce hug to and say “you are doing your best and everything that you can”. The two of these characters may seem an unlikely pair as there are secrets abound and there’s so much that they are each grappling with in their lives, but they have that undeniable connection that can’t be ignored.

Silenced by Sin is a story that is about finding love and doing what is necessary to survive and protect the ones that you love. The book is beautifully written with wonderful well-developed characters, an engaging storyline, and suspense. It was also great to see the other members of the Heaven’s Guardians MC club. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series!

I received an early complimentary version of this book.

I think its a possibility that I may have a book hangover. There is so much that happens in this book that you will find yourself putting it down only to pick it back up so you can find out what is going to happen next.
Patch is a member of the club who has a tragic past. He does not let it define him, but he does let it rule his emotions from time to time. Alaska is a single parent that will do whatever needs to be done to make sure her little girl Grace has what she needs. Grace is a sweet child who is so innocent and sweet you can't help but to fall in love with her. Nothing slows her down and she helps her mother and Patch find what the other has been missing. When they finally let their guards down Alaska helps Patch start living for the now instead of the past. Patch shows and gives Alaska what life is like with family. We get to get caught up with the other members.
Without giving anything away just know this book answers a few questions that you may have had lingering from the last book. Ashley Lane has a way of writing her characters that you just feel what they are. Highly recommend this book, and I am going to (im)patiently wait for the next in the series.

Book two in the Heaven’s Gaurdian Mc series centers around the MC’s Doctor Evander Cruz aka “Patch”. Alaska Watson is a single mom willing to protect and provide for her daughter Grace no matter what. Down on her luck she tries to get a job at the “wicked wench” auto shop run by the MC. When Patch got Alaska fired for unknowingly aiding in hurting their club’s queen he never thought he would see her again until he finds her working at the MC’s shop. Can he keep her identity a secret from the MC and his distance from her? He is still dealing with the demons from his past. Can they find a peace within each other? A beautifully written story of loss and redemption. I felt so bad for all Patch and Alaska have been through but they are still able to stay strong despite that. There still plenty of action too. Told in dual POV; I cannot wait for the next book which is Bullet’s story!!

I'm so taken aback by Lanes natural born talent to weave a masterful story! Silenced By Sin is incredible! It's filled with angst, danger intrigue and hot af bikers!!!

It follows Patch. I'm so irrevocably in love with him. A biker, a doctor, a grieving man. Lane writes his story so tragically. There are moments where the pain Patch was going through was matched in my heart. To hear what this man had to endure was gut wrenchingly sad. And Alaska is perfect for him. She had a just as tragic background. A single mother, with a deaf daughter and secrets of her own. She is an amazingly strong woman.

I still cant get over that this is Lanes, second, book. She pulled this one off like a seasoned pro. Her writing is excellent. Her story captivating. Her characters are bad a$$. Heavens Gaurdians is a truly cult worthy series.

“The difference in our loss, brother, is that you walked out of the cemetery the day you buried your family. I’m still fuckin’ there.” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Oh well this series is quickly becoming a nice surprise. I love the heartbreaking story of Dr. Evander Cruz a.k.a PATCH ! He is so sad and he deserves better. When he finally meets Alaska he sees everything he ever wanted and now he needs to work on his sea worth because he doesn’t believe he deserves love.
Alaska is also broken but she’s a very strong young single momma bear and she holds no punches when her daughter Grace is in question. She’s a queen.
I love how affectionate and sweet Patch is to Grace, he was born to be a father ❤️
The only thing this series is missing is spice! Come on!!! A Bikers series that has NO spice? Color me DISAPPOINTED! But regardless the 2 books I’ve read are great and I’m going to Bullet’s book right this second.
Also can we get a Max and Grace childhood friends to lovers book ????? What a SUPER CUTE boy ❤️

Holy shit! What an amazing ride! Absolutely loved Van and Alaska. I’m so exited to see what the future holds for these men! Ashley really got my feels going with this book! She did a fantastic job talking about a subject that no parent ever wants to think about but she did it beautifully. Thank you Ashley for another amazing read!

I absolutely loved this book! There were lots of heartbreak for Patch and Willow but they came out stronger and I loved them together. Patch went through something no parent should ever have to go through. My heart broke for him so much. It seemed like fate when he got not only Willow but little Grace too. It was very well written and I can’t wait to read book 3!

Ashley Lane's debut novel, Washed in the Blood, blew my mind. I loved it. Obsessed over these noble bikers with beards. Fell in love with them all. Never imagined I could love them more until I read this book. Evander "Patch" Cruz is haunted by his past and struggles to balance his call as a physician versus his call to help bring justice to this corrupted world as part of the Heaven's Guardians MC. A chance encounter with another damsel in distress, Alaska, forces him to confront his own demons. Wow. This story. There are so many twists and turns. Ashley has a gift for creating a story line that not only draws you in with great characters, but the plot moves at a perfect pace. I could not put the story down. I did not want to put the story down. I did not want the story to end. These characters are amazing. I especially love the fact that Ashley puts truth in their stories. This isn't a simple HEA. No. These characters have ugly flaws, make stupid choices, deal with consequences... they are human. Not everything gets wrapped up cleanly, and frankly that is refreshing. I enjoyed every second of this story and I cannot wait for the chance to delve deeper into the next book in this series.

I was provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can honestly say, if you enjoy MC books, this book will not disappoint.

- I DNF the first one but maybe I’ll like this one.
- so far so good and im a few chapters in
- ummm. It’s gonna downhill. I don’t see why bullet is into her. And I don’t see why patch is all “I’m gonna make her and grace mine”. Like I get his guilt and why he helped them. But beyond that there’s been nothing to show me a relationship is being built for them
- girl me too. I’m confused why bullet is all up your butt
- one kiss and you know you can deal with patch and his demons? Ummmmm ok sure
- any sane person with atleast one brain cell would think you’re replacing your dead deaf daughter with grace who is also dead dug
- that speech was actually hella sad. I’m so sad for patch
- well we’ll we’ll. So that’s how he deals
- can 6year olds really type things out on a phone??? I thought it was later they learned to write and spell and stuff
- I hate problems in books because of their own stupidity and lying
- I would be interested in a Max and Grace book
- wait. Alaska didn’t recognize patch from the EVR? Is that going to be addressed?
- no what’s shitty advice priest!!! Ofcourse he needs to tell Alaska ifs his fault she lost her job. I’m glad I didn’t read your book

I love this new author and series so much.
This is the second book in the Heaven’s Guardians series.
It’s Patch’a story and I was truly WOWED.
He has experienced incredible loss and heartbreak but still saves lives everyday as a doctor.
Alaska, the heroine, is so strong and fierce. You can’t help but like her.
The hidden gems in this one are Grace, Max and Emil. These children stole my heart.
Silence in Sin is light on the MC but heavy on redemption and perseverance.
Each book is a stand-alone in an interconnected series.
If you are looking for a new author, dark MC series, you found it with Ashley Lane.
