A delightful small town cozy comfort read. Christie Barlow is brilliant when it comes to developing lovable quirky characters and sweet feel good storylines. This is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series, and while it can be read as a standalone it was so nice revisiting characters from the previous books. Rory and Allie have just been gifted Clover Cottage by Rorys parents. Allie is super excited, she sees this as an opportunity for them to start their life together. And even though the ...more

Christine Barlow has the kind of writing style that sucks you in and makes you want to be part of the world shes built. The chance to be part of her Scottish town has me envious. Just like the last book of hers I read Im a little confused which genre it fits into. Its about a relationship which has hit a bump in the road.

Rory and Allie are an established couple. Hes a vet for the family business. When his parents offer him Clover cottage, Allie thinks shes finally getting her

Favorite Quotes:

Check my teeth, she said, slightly panicking. Rorys eyebrows shot up as Allie clenched her teeth together and prised her lips open wide in some sort of weird twisty grimace. What are you doing, you absolute loon? You look like some sort of constipated chimpanzee, said Rory, his eyes drawn towards Allies mouth. Not that in the whole of my career have I ever had the pleasure of treating any constipated chimpanzees.

Everything looks on the up for Allie and her boyfriend Rory. They are very much in love and Rorys parents have given them a cottage that they will be able to make their own. Sadly, the prospect of their own home has the pair feeling torn.

Firstly, I have to say I was so envious of Rory being given Clover Cottage. Yes, it is somewhere that is going to need a lot of work but as a person who loves Grand Designs and similar programmes, like Allie, I could really see the potential in the place. Who

Clover Cottage is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series. It could be read as a stand alone, but much of the backstories and dynamics of the regular characters would be missed.

This story focusses on Rory and Allie. Rory is a vet in his fathers practice but feels constrained and frustrated by what he sees as his fathers old fashioned ways and reluctance to improve the quite small space. Allie, an amateur photographer, works in her parents pub and loves her life in the village, surrounded by

I've just spent the most wonderful couple of hours in Heartcross, back amongst my friends from Love Heart Lane, and meeting whole new ones at the same time.

And what a roller coaster of a book this was, what I can definitely say is Christie Barlow really is producing her best stories and writing with this series. This was another super duper book!

I was hooked from the first few pages, and although at times the conflict between Allie and Rory was getting a bit frustrating, I could see things

Clover Cottage is a lovely, cosy, heartwarming read with characters who you will wish that you knew in real life.
Allie and Rory have their ups and downs - find me a relationship that doesn't! - but can they reach a compromise?

Both wanting each other but at the same time, each wanting something different from life, we join them as we follow their wonderful story which starts when a Cottage, Clover Cottage, is passed onto them from Rory's parents, Stuart and Alana. Clover Cottage was left to

I loved this book, i genuinely struggled to put it down. It is one in a series, but it is so well written, it can be enjoyed as a stand alone. I was pulled in right from the first page and i was totally absorbed in the story. I really hope there is going to be another book from this series.

I have been trying to limit the books I read on NetGalley and haven't requested any for a good few months however when One More Chapter invited me to read this 3rd story in the Love Heart Lane series I couldn't resist and pleased I didn't!

This book focused on characters from the previous 2 novels - Rory and Allie - and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.

The book starts when Rory's parents gift him and his girlfriend Allie a cottage in the village of Heartcross. This leads to some unrest for the

I loved this book. The Love Heart Lane Series has been fabulous.
This is book 3 in the series. I also recommend reading Love Heart Lane and Foxglove Farm (which were equally fabulous!) to get the full back story of the people in the small village of Heartcross.
It can be read as a stand-alone as the focus is on different characters, but it was great to catch up with the locals of this beautiful area. I want to live there!
This story is based around Rory the vet, who works at his Dads practice and

I was so excited to be able to read the 3rd book in the "Love Heart Lane" series by Christie Barlow! I haven't been disappointed! I found this book very very good and maybe even better than the 2 first books in the series! So much things are happening in this book that you would never guess. This is a very entertaining book (as well as two first books in the serie). I had a lot of fun reading it. It's a pretty big book but it's a page-turner so no worries! I gave this book a 4 stars out of 5! ...more

This may be the third book in a series but reads perfectly as a standalone - I hadn't read any of the previous books but thoroughly enjoyed this!

Christie Barlow has an exquisite style of writing, which draws you into her story and fall in love with the characters she has created. The friendships and kindness of the residents of Heartcross had me jealous!

I felt like I was thrown into the story immediately with Rory and Allie, an established couple going through a patch of conflict. Rory and

A light-hearted rural romance that is entertaining and a great read to cheer yourself up and escape to the Scottish village of Heartcross.
This is part of a series of books but can be read standalone just fine as all the background and characters are covered however if you read and enjoyed Love Heart Lane this features some of the much loved characters from that.
Things were not plain sailing in this love story and there were times when I quite frankly wanted to throttle Rory because he was

I read the first two installments of the Love Heart Lane series last year, Love Heart Lane and Foxglove Farm, and couldnt wait to revisit the village of Heartcross.

In Clover Cottage the focus is on the characters of Rory and Allie, ones that have featured in the previous two books. Here we find out more about them, and follow their relationship. At the start of the book Rory is told that he has inherited Clover Cottage, and Allie feels as if all her dreams have come true.

However, this

This was an absolutely wonderful read. It's the third in the Loveheart Lane series but could easily be read as a standalone.
This book follows Rory and Allie. Rory works for the family vet business, but wants to modernise and expand, but is facing resistance from his dad. Allie also works for her family business as a barmaid. They both feel beholden to their family whilst having dreams of a different type of life. Allie thinks they are ready to settle down and when the offer of Clover Cottage is

What a cute and cosy read! It was a pleasure to once again visit the village of Heartcross and Love Heart Lane. Enjoyed Rory and Allie's story as well as the introduction of Zach and a few other characters. Hopefully this series will endure and we will have many future books set in Heartcross!

Great read to curl up with a cup of tea and enjoy on a cold winter afternoon.

My copy was provided by NetGalley for review, all opinions are my own.

Three books into the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow and I am continuously wishing wishing that Heartcross, the small village in the Scottish Highlands that Christie has created, was real and that I could visit it. The magic created by this talented author in book one is still evident in spades in this new book Clover Cottage and I loved every minute of it right from the opening paragraph. Family bonds, community spirit and friendship all feature strongly and these are the themes that ...more

So this is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series and, confession time, the first one I have read but, and this. is good news for readers, it is a book which can easily be read as a standalone. Yes - I would undoubtedly know more about the characters on the periphery of Rory and Allie's lives, but as for getting to know them in this books, I got a very clear picture of life in the village of Heartcross and fell instantly in love with all of them. Christie Barlow is one of those great ...more

Fun, uplifting and delightfully feel-good, Christie Barlow takes up back to the enchanting village of Heartcross with the latest engaging and immensely enjoyable instalment in the series, Clover Cottage.

Allie MacDonald thinks that she has hit the jackpot. She loves her life in the quaint village of Heartcross, enjoys her job as a barmaid in the family pub and loves nothing more than indulging in her passion for photography. With a fabulous boyfriend who is gorgeous, kind-hearted and wonderful in
I was about 3 pages in when I started to recognize the writing style, and sure enough, Id read another of this authors titles a couple of years back, and have several of her titles in my TBR pile. Characters that are both compelling and engaging, a story that is full of hope and change, and a few little hiccups in the road to keep everyone on their toes. And Allie and Rory have the hiccups but it is the strength of their relationship, and the friends they both have in the little village of ...more

Returning to Love Heart Lane and discovering Clover Cottage was such a much needed treat of a read. I still can't believe that the Love Heart Lane series is my first introduction to the works of Christie Barlow as she has now become a must read for #feelgoodfiction.

Clover Cottage is Book 3 in the Love Heart Lane series, the book can be read as a standalone but as the characters grow and progress from each novel I would highly recommend reading all the books in order to fully appreciate the

I have been a fan of Christie's work for quite a while now. I love the way in which she combines the drama with the romance and with a generous helping of feel good vibes. I read the synopsis for 'Clover Cottage' and it certainly sounded just the kind of fabulous and distracting read that I so desperately needed at that particular moment in time. I must be psychic because I absolutely loved reading 'Clover Cottage' but more about that in a bit.

This is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series and I am delighted once again to be transported North to the wonderful Scottish village of Heartcross.

Vet Rory Scott has always wanted to do something more than be the Vet at his father's practice in Heartcross. He wanted to branch out, do something, see the world and have an impact on animals worldwide not just locally.

However feeling an obligation to his father and mother he stays in Heartcross and starts to settle with girlfriend, Allie.
Christie Barlow has rapidly become one of my favorite cozy romance writers and now she is back with a wonderful new addition, Clover Cottage.

When local veterinarian, Rory, is gifted Clover Cottage by his parents, his significant other, Allie, is thrilled. She sees this as a new beginning for the two of them in the town in which they grew up and fell in love. However, Rory is extremely reluctant to take on the renovations of the house, to the point that Ally is worried that it is their
The trials and tribulations of following your dreams and making the most of your opportunities can put a real strain on your romance - especially if your parents are interfering and not letting you make your own choices!

What a fabulous read by Christie Barlow, this is book number three of the love heart lane series set in the beautiful village of Heartcross, scottish highlands along with friends and family and who could want anything more than that?
This story can be read as a stand alone however, who wouldnt like to reread another 2 by the same author which are all equally fantastic. All of the characters are the same in the book but with each couple you get the stories so you know everyone from Heartcross

Clover Cottage is a cosy, heartwarming novel of love - in all its forms.
