Galatea and Cy Aurele are neck deep in trouble. When Cy becomes intertwined with the mysterious Cervantes, Galatea must find a way to save him without losing herself. Book Two of the Like a Demon Series enters even deeper into a world of sex and mystery following the Aurele twins as they struggle against forces they don't understand and passions they have no hope of resisting.
Like a Demon: Game of Seduction is the second book in Roxanne Rue’s serial series, and this one takes us deeper into the world. Like the first Like a Demon story, The Strange Case of Rebecca Prosper, this is a three-point-five-star rating rounded down. I certainly enjoyed this second story and I’m curious to see what comes next.
With Like a Demon: Game of Seduction, we pick up right where the first story ended. We’re thrown straight into events, with answers being given and new elements being introduced. With this second story, we get to understand the supernatural world a lot better. In fact, this book works as an introduction to understanding the supernatural. That is not to say there is no story involved, there certainly is, but the main focus of this one is to help us understand the demons in this world.
Although we get a better understanding of things, we also have lots of questions. There are many elements introduced, and we’re left uncertain of plans, which in turns leaves us curious about where things are heading. Due to the events that take place during this one, we can create theories, but there are so many answers needed – plus a cliff-hanger ending – to ensure you’ll be back for more.
Without a doubt, I’m curious to see what the third story brings. I’m positive, now we have a full understanding of the story (from The Strange Case of Rebecca Prosper) and the supernatural (from Game of Seduction) things are really going to start moving.
I have truly liked this strange world of demons and humans. I always pictured demons as troll like, gross little black monsters. However, in the last few books I’ve read about them, they are handsome monsters. Looks can’t cover all the bad blood in someone but it sure helps. This is the second book and Cervantes and Cee are still after Galatea (Gal) for short. Her brother Cyprus (Cy) is caught up in Cervantes web of lies and deceit. As private eyes, they are still trying to solve the mystery of Rebecca Prosper’s murder. How are Cervantes and Cee connected to it. What they have gotten involved with is something you only read about in horror stories. Soon, they will find the true meaning for incubus and succubus.
As Cy falls deeper and deeper into Cervantes web, this case becomes more and more complicated. It appears that Gal is the only one who can save him along with Cee’s help. Just when you are sure you have it figured out, something else goes wrong. Just who is this other woman, Azreala that keeps showing up with Cervantes. If you like a good mystery with lots of twists and turns, this series is for you. There is a very surprising ending that leads me to believe that maybe Book 3 is in the works. If so, I can’t wait, bring it on.
