Oaklee Cormier is not only heartbroken, but inevitably reminded of the pain by residing in the same small city as her ex-boyfriend. When presented the opportunity, she and her best friend and accomplice, Cheeky, quickly escaped to the lively city of NOLA. Oaklee was prepared for the escape, the fun and magic of the city. But what she wasn't prepared for was for this trip to serve as a mirror to her true self and passion. And what, or better yet whom, she was even less prepared for was Mars.
Mars has been throned a Southside King since being taken under the wing of the CEO of Rhyme Records. Though he has the rapping and producing game on lock, he's tired of the banal women he meets from the fame, along with dealing with the fame hungry mother of his child. While he isn't sure why, it isn't until he meets up with the unruly and self-centered Oaklee that his interest is peaked. However, it is said that feelings come without rhyme or reason, welling up from the unknown.

I swear you are quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! Ma'am you are official with your pen game and I'm all for it! I really like how three isn't too much over the top drama... Everything flows well and ties together smoothly. Can't wait to read past 2. I hope Mars bitter a$$ baby momma gets everything coming to her!
Oaklee is so annoying that I’ve had to put this book down 3 times. Then OB is too trusting. So the Cormier siblings are all screwed up. Cheeky is extremely ghetto but funny. It’s definitely an interesting read, I just hate that I dislike Oaklee so much.
I loved how Cheeky and Oaklee met and getting to watch their friendship grow. Cheeky is hilarious, while Oaklee is truly doing her best. Out of all the characters so far, I think Mars is my favorite, such a great father and knows exactly what he wants.
But whew… that cliffhanger has me more than ready to jump straight into the next book. I really enjoyed this one.
Thats crazy how females can be so greedy and jealous at the same time. I really hope both Oakley and OB are okay. Ppl can never seem to want others to be happy they want to try taken that happiness from others for what reason. I hope Mickey and Layla get what is coming to them both.
Oh. My. Gosh. How can you leave this book like this?! Two things I need, first I need part two and secondly I need Laiya's ass whooped again. And throw Micky in the mix too. This was a really good read and honestly I liked how confident Oaklee was but that bratty spoiled behavior is real aggy. Cheeky was super extra but a good friend. I actually liked Mars and Ob over cheeky and Oaklee. Of course they make dumb decisions like all men do but I still like them. They can be my book baes. Then we Genghis bombshell dropped at the end. Baby I need this tea! My girl hasn't let me down with these books yet.
Oaklee was too damn grown to be doing all the whining and pouting she was doing throughout the story. She was getting on my nerve's. Aside from that. When she revealed what happened to her as a teenager. It gave insight on her insecurities. Mars has his hands full with his trifling ass baby momma. Laiya was a attention whore and try to use Mars status and their daughter to gain fame. Cheeky was crazy but her and Oaklee balanced each other out when it came to their friendship. Cheeky also had Oaklee back. Obadiah had his demon's he was battling. Cheeky seem to be the right girl for him but he slipped up and found himself getting setup and now he has relapsed.
I don’t know this author but let me tell you she just gained a new reader. This book was so good beginning to end. I need to find me a bestie like Cheeky because I laughed so much reading about her character. I don’t want to ruin the book by talking about all the other characters but you will not be disappointed reading this book. I can’t wait for part 2
This is my first read by this author but most definitely wont be my last! I was quickly enthralled and found myself relating to the characters. Cheeky became such a great friend to Oak. I loved seeing Oak come out of her shell and to see her and Mars develop a relationship. That ending has me on pins and needles for both Obadiah and Oak! I really hate Laiya!
This was an okay read. I could not connect with the characters. The women were on level 10 with no lower frequency and just weren't likable. The two male leads were okay. For me, the best part of the story was the cliffhanger. I'm hoping that book two brings the story to life and the author develops the characters and tamps down the chaos.
I'm so glad I took a chance on this book I was not disappointed. This book has you going through all the emotions. Loved all the characters everyone balanced each other perfectly. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
This book was so dang good but that cliffhanger hanger had me in tears and shock. I'm so distraught right now. You just took my whole soul right now 😭😂. Let me go get myself back together. Definitely looking forward to part 2!
In this genre I read a lot of rushed books that just drag on and on. You can definitely tell the author worked hard. This book was funny, entertaining, and definitely pulled in your heart strings
Oh! My! Gosh! Talk about a book. Man if you want to laugh, and i mean really laugh. Then read this book! Cheeky is a fool man, I can’t deal with her. And that ending! I AM SICK!!! I’m praying OB ain’t do what i think he did! Read this book. I couldn’t put it down!
That ending almost took me out! OB and Oaklee has to be ok! Laiya needs a slow painful death!! Mars, Cheeky and Oaklee parents are about to act a fool! I can't wait for book 2!
This read was different and very interesting. Secrets were revealed that left me shocked because I didn’t expect them at all. Now with how things ended I am beyond ready for book two!
