Totally love this book. New town, new home, new job, and then a new fiancé. So much change for Callie and so hard to make heads or tails of what changes were for the better. Cole was a hard candy shell keeping everyone out and distant from his heart. This made it great to watch him become vulnerable and stand up to be the man for Callie.

Maggie Dallen is always good for a fresh take on an old trope. This version of the fake fiancé romance is original and fairly believable despite how quickly it all happens.
Like Cole, I was a bit exasperated with Callie for being such a doormat, but when we learn that her motivation is a little deeper than that, I found myself feeling sympathetic after all. I loved the atypical handling of the denouement, & the happily-ever-after was excellent.
No angst, no terrible heart wrenching betrayal between the two. Which is a welcome break every now and then.
