-‘Before she knew it, they were heading back toward the front door, apologizing for interrupting a moment. What moment? There was no moment! The truth threatened to burst out of her. How on earth was she supposed to keep up this monumental lie for weeks when she could barely keep it up for a handful of minutes.’-
This super cute, super fun, sweet, clean romance is definitely worth the read! I especially liked that it wasn’t overly dramatic. It was fluffy and definitely ‘Hallmark-ish’ but a very e

Fun, Fast, and Fluffy. This was a very light, very funny romance designed for the Hallmark Movie crowd but with elements that could draw in fans of the various home renovation shows all over TV (and even some streaming services) these days. Very fast read, without sleep catching up on me and Facebook being too addicting, I could have easily finished this book in 3 ish hrs. (As it was, I still finished in 12 - most of that asleep.) Book 2 in the series, but the main couple from the first book bar ...more

I don’t like romance movies that use reality TV as their setting. So why did I totally love Maggie Dallen’s The (Not So) Perfect Fiancé (Falling in Friar Hollow, Book 2)? Oh yeah, probably because the writing is sooo darn good. The excuse used for how Cassie ends up in a romance spurred by being on Cole’s show is also believable. Hard to to date. There are no cheap shot excuses to force the couple together, and no real evil. Just fun, odd circumstances that lead both of them to decide that a fak ...more

Fun sweet story

Totally love this book. New town, new home, new job, and then a new fiancé. So much change for Callie and so hard to make heads or tails of what changes were for the better. Cole was a hard candy shell keeping everyone out and distant from his heart. This made it great to watch him become vulnerable and stand up to be the man for Callie.
Fun story about falling in love with the right one while suffering thru a breakup. I liked that the book wasn’t overly dramatic. The theme of bro

Another fun read by one of my favorite authors

Maggie Dallen is always good for a fresh take on an old trope. This version of the fake fiancé romance is original and fairly believable despite how quickly it all happens.

Like Cole, I was a bit exasperated with Callie for being such a doormat, but when we learn that her motivation is a little deeper than that, I found myself feeling sympathetic after all. I loved the atypical handling of the denouement, & the happily-ever-after was excellent.

A wonderful enjoyable sweet story. An amazing storyline of a fake fiance of two total opposites so that the two can benefit. A truly entertaining heartwarming unexpected romance that had me addicted page after page. The characters are well developed, interesting, fun, romantic, great chemistry, both have some trust issues, and a undeniable connection that soon can no longer be ignored. I highly recommend this voluntarily read and reviewed engaging romance with a few ups and downs and an edge of ...more

My first book by the author. It’s a light romance with a good looking hero and an equally good looking (?) misguided/stubble.heroine. I describe her as such because she was...not seeing what’s in front of her.

No angst, no terrible heart wrenching betrayal between the two. Which is a welcome break every now and then.

Sweet and beautiful

I loved reading Callie and Cole's story. It was a really sweet and beautiful romance. Since I started with this one, I'll have to go back and read the first book in the series, but this was well worth my time.

This was such a fun book. Think Ty Pennington making a love match while remodeling a big old house falling in love with the owner who's fiancee jilted her.
